- Magicavoxel file import fix
- Fixes other minor issues
1.1.11
2020-12-21
Important bug fix: lost cubes when saving file.

We're so sorry about this, this bug has been introduced with the previous update (1.1.10).
All our excuses to impacted users. We won't do it again.
1.1.10
2020-11-29
- Improved save file format (.pcubes), now way smaller.
- Important bug fix that could lead to file corruptions
1.1.9
2019-05-20
- Mirroring tool! Makes it much easier and faster to create and edit symmetrical models!
1.1.8
2019-04-30
- Edition grid
- More accurate colors and lightning
- Retro mode (control pixel size in the settings)
- Control light direction even when shadows are turned off
- Bug fixes & optimizations

Note: with the new implementation for lights and colors, existing creations may appear darker.
Colors used to be burnt (too light), it was natural to select darker colors to compensate.
We're sorry if you have to update some of your creations because of this.
This change allows us to work on cool features for future releases, more light and color settings essentially.

Thanks for reading!

Soba Noodle ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ,
Almost Perfect
I am working on an animation and needed something to design the sets with. I tried CAD programs and a home design/blueprint app, but they were too hard to use and overqualified for my purposes. I tried a Minecraft knockoff, and realized I had to mine my materials in order to build, so I deleted that too.

This app, on the other hand, is beautiful. The controls are simple; it took me only ten minutes to learn. I like the grid on/off feature, so I can see exactly where I’m placing the blocks. The light source feature is useful for illuminating small details on a particular side of the object. The photo option is amazing for getting camera angles. I haven’t used it yet, but I also appreciate the fact that you can export the project into three different formats (which I may do in the future, if it suits my needs).

Moving around is a little clunky, but that’s probably because I’m trying to maneuver on the inside of a hollow object (I’ll glitch through walls, and suddenly speed out of the building’s offices at times); but if I try hard enough, I can get the camera angles I want.

I do wish there were a color wheel/spectrum where you can custom-make your own colors, as opposed to using a palette; but I’m going to be tracing over everything anyway, so it’s not that big of a deal.

Overall, it is a wonderful app; and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Surfx24,
best voxel maker on ios
idk about other platforms but this definitely takes the cake for ios, it’s extremely simplistic and clean, the camera angles are easy to use and the colors enforce creativity. And it has a few other little features like lighting and background. However, i really wish i could 3D print my creation from this app. I am unsure about the .vox thingy and if that program can 3D print or not but please add this if you can.
celestialplumber,
Love the app, but it could use more color options
I love this app, it’s great for making voxel art and it’s incredibly user friendly.

The camera is very easy to work with, the models being exportable is really helpful, and it’s very fun to mess around with this app when I’m bored.

However, I think it’d be cool if there was a much wider array of colors. Perhaps a feature that allows the user to use a photo on their device as the color palette or something like that? Actually in particular that exact feature, as well as a color slider. Basically, I’m suggesting that more colors should be added, and that a feature that allows you to use a photo on your device as the palette should also be added. Both of these features would make me give the app a 5 star rating. As it stands it gets a 4 star rating.

Anyway that’s the review.

And to the devs if you’re reading this: Nice work on the app, I used it to create my profile pic on Twitter, thanks for making a free app that doesn’t feature ads or micro transactions, you’re totally awesome and legendary in my book for doing that.
Create Nickname 1776,
I want to love this so bad but…
it has some difficult flaws. I really have been enjoying this app which is why I’m giving 4 stars, but I’ve run into a few frustrating issues.

Positives:
- Easy to place/destroy/change colors
- Easy grid button
- Nice layer placement option

Negatives:
- The camera and the camera controls (biggest negative for me). The camera locks to a particular spot so if you are trying to build a house for example, you might zoom a little too far out and then lock yourself out of the house. Then you have to wrangle the camera again to get back to the entrance of your building to go inside. Overall the movement just feels clunky.
- The lighting can be dark at times, even with adjusting brightness on my phone

Other than those two things this app is awesome. I’d give 4.5 stars if possible.
SkySoar11,
Excellent resource for artists
It’s an excellent resource for artists, especially ones who struggle with perspective. You can use it to build as many scenes as you want and position the camera for it. Pair this with the app called Poseit(also free) and you have anything you could need in terms of resources.

I love that there’s no ads and it’s completely free to use, I also love that it auto saves and the interface is simple to use.

The only issue I have with this is that when you move the camera and let go of the screen, the perspective moves a bit and it can make positioning the camera hard, I’d appreciate it if you fixed that.

Overall, I’m glad that this exists, thanks creator(s)

wyntajc,
I love this app
I love how easy and fun this app is to use. There are a few things that can be added to make the experience better but overall I’m super happy with it and I’m planning on using the models I make for personal projects 👌🏾
Burbleflef,
Awesome!
This seems pretty fun to use! Pretty good interface as well as some neat touches like being able to control the shadow!... though I do have a few suggestions.
1. Add in a toggle-able grid so I can tell the voxels apart when I have a bunch of the same color all together in a flat surface.
2. Maybe add a short tutorial in the beginning on how to use it and the functions.
3. Just put the advanced options in the bar from the beginning instead of having to go into the options menu to activate it.
4. Sort out the color selection menu, it’s kind of a mess.
Other than these the app is awesome!
-N.R.G.-,
Awesome! Almost 5 stars!
This pixel builder is honestly the best I have ever seen on the App Store. It’s got good tools, good controls, and I can build consistent things without any interruptions.
I would give this 5 stars, but to me, there should be more colors that a user can use, but everything else is A-OK.
This app deserves to be the prime app for pixel art and building.
IllusoryMaple05,
Amazing Voxel Creator
This app is absolutely wonderful, with MagicaVoxel being non-existent on IOS this app allows me to make Voxels on the go. JUST ONE THING: please add a 2x button like the one in MagicaVoxel (which makes all cubes into 4 cubes, it scales it up). This tool makes making Voxels with high detail twice as easy
TacoMageCat,
It's okay.
This is a really neat app! I like the wide color scheme and advanced building setting.
Though it lacks a few things...
Music you can turn on or off
Semi-transparent blocks
The planned features to be finished, it just gives you a cone as a little WIP sign.
A way to port creations into an actual game (MAKE A GAME FOR THIS THAT WOULD ROCK)
I think the last thing they should add is a button to open a window where you can browse creations made by others and upload your own.

This is a very nifty app! Would recommend.
