- Route Importing: Now you can import your own GPX tracks into Peaks and create plans with them.
- Timeline for Recordings: Your recordings will now give you a detailed timeline for your events throughout the climb.
- Sunrise / Sunset: For climbs when you started or finished in the dark, Peaks will now display when the sun rose or set relative to your climb.

What’s Improved
- When points for a session are written, we utilize a background thread to avoid lagging the app.
- Photos that exist in iCloud but not on your device will now be able to be loaded in

What’s Fixed
- When a session has no associated photos Peaks will now display a clear message telling you why that space is there.
- IAP receipts will only be “force refreshed” if its needed, no longer prompting you to enter your password if it isn’t needed.
- GPX files couldn’t be imported always

What’s New:
- Fullscreen Maps: View any plan or recording in fullscreen by tapping on the map

- Password autofill: When you create and account or login, Peaks will offer to save your password for you.
What’s Improved:
- Deeplinking: Deeplinking had some issues depending on the apps backgrounded state. Some improvements to this should lead to all deeplinks working more reliably.
- Consistency in naming: In some places I’d called Plans “Trips” because a long time ago I couldn’t decide what to call them. I found and fixed all instances of this to have the naming be consistent.

1.0.4
2020-05-28
What’s New:
- New History Screen: Adding a new history screen, complete with fancy smancy loaders.
- Bests: We’re showing your bests in 3 categories for now: Highest Point, Longest Climb, Fastest Pace.

What’s Improved:
- Empty sections in the Create Trip screen will now collapse automatically
- Without creating an account on Peaks, you can now connect to Strava to get all of that functionality.
- Added the date to history items.

What’s Fixed:
- Attempted to clean up some code for the last release, and over cleaned, accidentally removing the background color for the “pause” button on recordings, leading to a spooky ghost of a button (unless you use dark mode, then no button at all). Decided to add that back.
- Sometimes iOS wouldn’t recognize the app could import GPX files, so we fixed that.
- When the phone receives new data during recording, the “time recording” stat would “flicker” and show you an old time for a split second. That’s been cleaned up.
- When you start recording, sometimes we take the very first data point as quickly as possible to get your recording going right away. Unfortunately, while we were busy thinking we were geniuses, we forgot to check the accuracy of that very first point which caused some sessions to have an inaccurate point that could skew your stats. So we’ve added that accuracy check.
- If the app crashes, or you need to close and restart it for some reason during a climb, we restore your previous recording. We’ve added some checks to that restoration to ensure we don’t automatically start recording once you get home and go to check your stats.
- Import: Sometimes when importing, the newly imported climb would fail to show up in the history tab until an app restart.
- Upgrade: When going from no account to adding an account, we sometimes wouldn’t show old data until after an app restart.
1.0.3
2020-05-19

- New flow for creating plans: Peaks will now recommend things to climb based on what people are currently climbing, what’s nearby, and what’s been popular.
- “Forgot Password” support: ability to receive a secure Password Reset link emailed to you in case you forget.

What’s Improved:
- Elevation chart on the recording pages: chart looks smoother and shows better data.
- Gain accuracy: we updated the way that gain is calculated to give more accurate session data.
- Updates to session loading time: Waiting sucks, so we revised the way that sessions are loaded to speed things up.

What’s Fixed:
- Fixed a bug where sharing a session with a long-press from the history screen wouldn’t work.

Other:
- Updated terms of service, available in the link at the bottom of the description.

mcdonaldjosh7,
Great app
Used this app on a recent hike in the PNW. We got slightly off course in the snow, opened the app (I was in airplane mode with GPS enabled) and got back to the route. We were only about 200 yards off, but that would have compounded the further we went. Still trying to figure out all the features, but so far well worth the money. Also, in airplane mode (no cell service) the battery drain was not bad, did almost 15 miles and still had plenty of battery by the time we got back to the car.
Blame the game,
Great app, tons of potential
The app looks great and seems to have a ton of great features. The price is also very reasonable. Might be useful to do a short instructional video of how to use the app such as how to create a new route, how to follow an existing route, and a bit more detail on what premium offers that the free version doesn’t offer.
Papa Shanks,
Easy, no hassle, and accurate af
Simple one click turn on and forget makes this my favorite new hike tracking app. I’ve run it parallel with my Garmin gps before, and it’s dead on accurate with or without cell service.
Supermouse25,
