PenaltyTimer is the first mobile app created specifically for roller derby officials. It has since been used by leagues all over the world.
Typical stopwatches can be unreliable and cumbersome to use. PenaltyTimer provides a reliable way to track penalties with built-in knowledge of the WFTDA ruleset for those tricky jammer situations. If you're short staffed at practice, managing the full penalty box is no problem!

Super simple and it saved my arse
First time I was was penalty box manager I had two jammers sit down within 6 seconds of each other—didn’t have to remember the rules, just had to hit the right color buttons. Hopefully you’re not with one of those leagues that insists you use the traditional hourglass rather than an app. Bring a power pack for your phone tho.

Best app for penalty timing
I have been using a version of this app for almost seven years and have to yet to find anything better. It is constantly updated to the changes in rules and have always been solid.

As a new NSO and learning all the tips and tricks to running the penalty box, this App is a godsend. It incorporates the full Jammer rules, and you can turn them on and off. It's an App every Derby player, NSO, and Ref should have. The vibrate feature is wonderful! I havent had a problem with it yet. Oh and it is great for practice jams too. With the manuel time set function, you can start a Jam with a Jammer or Blocker in the box for a simulated ammount of time of your chooseing. Put it this way. You could buy 6 stopwatches; or spend the $3 on this wonderfull app. It's a win win situation. Just can't wait for an iPad version ;)

Great derby app!
What a great penalty tracking app! In the past I've done the stopwatches taped to a clipboard trick, but not only does this app make tracking penalties faster, it also saves you the problem of missing a stopwatch when tracking multiple people in the sin bin. AND it has the forethought to allow you to set custom penalty times, such as someone getting a double-major or when a jammer becomes a blocker due to a jammerless jam.

A MUST for roller derby!
If you have a iPhone and work as an official in roller derby, this is a must. Works 100%. The girls in the box find it much easier to read what their time remaining is. Just make sure that you set the phone into airplane mode to keep anyone from calling/texting you while timing penalties.

Not just WFTDA, great for all ref squads
We have 2 of these apps on 2 different phones for all the potential ref squads. This is a wonderful timekeeper that is easy to learn and use. We play under MADE rules, and it is very easy to convert the app to a generic ruleset. If you are a MADE, OSDA, or ref a league other than WFTDA, you will not be disappointed.

Worth the 3 bucks!
I use this app every time I NSO in the box. I love that you can time Jammers only, 2 teams, 1 team or just Blockers. I also love that you can stop and start all timers at once; very helpful between jams and during timeouts. You will not regret this purchase.

One official can run the whole box!
The updated version handles 4.0 "jammerless jam" rules beautifully! One volunteer with limited training can easily run the entire penalty box. Every league needs this app for practices.
