Description
Personal Style Indicator Lite Version:
The Personal Style Indicator (PSI) helps individuals improve their learning, work, career satisfaction and performance. It can also help strengthen relationships by improving understanding and reducing conflicts.
Personal Style is a term referring to one's particular preferences or manner of functioning in the learning, work, career and personal environments. There are many dimensions of personal style. Some are affective, others more cognitive.
The Personal Style Indicator (PSI) is a statistically validated style inventory that focuses on five affective styles, more linked to personality rather than cognitive brain function. The PSI will point out these style differences. Bear in mind, however, that differences in style types is neither good nor bad. They are simply differences.
The method for teasing out or "indicating" style tendencies among the five is done through a series of eight word descriptor ranking groups. The descriptor rankings are calculated and compared to a norming sample to reflect the relative strength or preference for each of the five styles.
This information is useful in making career, job, learning, work and life decisions. Think of the PSI as a type of compass. It may not be exact in plotting the course, but can serve as a helpful guide for making decisions about personal choices and directions.
In addition, the PSI can help you to gather "other perceptions" of your style. We call this "Validation." Validation helps in determining how others perceive you. People who know you well can simply complete the PSI with you in mind. This allows you to check to see if your view of yourself matches that of others.
The PSI is free for your personal use. It is private and there are no ads. It does not transmit your information. Any data stored by the app is kept locally on your phone.
There are both paid and free versions of the PSI. The difference between the two versions is that the paid version allows you to save your results.
