- Smart geofence notifications that remind users to switch Petcube Care from Awake to Sleep and vice versa when they’re heading home or leaving it so they will never miss a moment in case they forget to turn the Care back to Awake mode;
- Batch processing videos recorded by the Petcube camera: Petcube Care users can now group-delete, group-share or group-download selected videos to save time on scrolling through multiple records;
- Improved smart alerts: Petcube Care subscribers are now able to see a preview of the video in the body of the alert notification so they can quickly see what’s going on back home right on the lock screen.

Camera and Audio issues
Initially this camera was amazing but I’ve had it for over a year now and noticed a few issues. When trying to talk to my dogs it makes a high pitch noise as well as even with the audio on I can’t hear anything from the camera unless I turn my side to speak to them on.
I also am having issues with the night vision. I have it on auto and while the room is dark at night it constantly flickers from on and off night vision. This has been sweating off my motion detection a lot and has scared me in previous nights thinking someone was in my house. I tried putting a night light in there so it wouldn’t switch to night vision automatically didn’t help. Even turned on always night vision and it still does the flickering

Audio Issue?
When I first got this app it was great and allowed for everything I was looking for. I think this may have happened after the last update..but before the update, it was nice that when I opened the app and opened a video, it would stay muted until I clicked on unmute. Now after the update every time I open the app the audio is not muted, even which my phone on silent it plays sound. This is annoying when Im work in a quite office and want to check on my doggo. Strangely, when I click full screen the audio is then muted, then I can go back to the regular screen and it will stay muted.
On a side note, now when I click on the ‘unmute myself’ or ‘unmute my dog’ buttons, they only stay on for a few seconds then turn right back off again.
Ive uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and It seemed to fix the first issue for a couple days, then went back to me having to go to full screen for the audio to be turned off. I would hate to have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling the app because of this.
On a side note, now when I click on the ‘unmute myself’ or ‘unmute my dog’ buttons, they only stay on for a few seconds then turn right back off again.

Recent updates to firmware and app broke 2 new cameras
I pay an incredibly high amount of money to Petcube for premium videos to be saved on the cloud. Guess what I get? Two unusable cameras, sporadic and unreliable motion recordings, and no ability to view the footage live. It’s pretty despicable that a company will take so much money to provide you a service, but that same company doesn’t even care enough to provide you with working product. The cameras are only nine months old by the way. Oh and good luck getting support. Nobody’s ever on the chat. Obviously they don’t care as long as they get your money which you pay a year ahead of time. All so you can have a broken camera with an app that doesn’t work and no one to fix it. Last but not least, it’s really obvious that they turned down the sensitivity of motion detection so that they wouldn’t have to store as much video on the cloud for paying premium customers. As a result, I’ve missed so many treasured moments with my sick pet. Anything to pinch a penny! Shame on you Petcube.

Customer service poor
My first camera used to work great and all of a sudden I was unable to connect to wifi. I bought a new router and modern also a new small camera with a subscription. Both camera can not connect which is really disappointing. I have emailed and get the same response. Which is what I already have in the setup manual It’s so frustrating to have to wait for an email response when I am trying to problem solve now. You can not talk to a person for help. How do you sell a product and provide no one to speak to? I don’t recommend this service since no one will help you if things go wrong. I also bought the subscription and that is a waste of money too. I can’t cancel it. I used to really enjoy using the camera when I was able to talk to an actual person when I needed assistance. I think it’s extremely poor customer service and rude. You want the money but can’t interact with your customers if they need help. Frustrating

Good, but wakes up my dog when used
This app has been pretty reliable for checking in on my puppy when I’m not in the same room as him, but I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of two reasons:
1- the camera emits some kind of super high pitched sound when I am watching the video feed. While I can’t hear it myself, I am 99% positive this happens because I can see that my dog wakes up from his nap or turns to look at the camera the exact second I tune in to watch him. I keep the mic off so that’s not the issue. The blinking light is not strong enough to wake him from his sleep. I wish this didn’t happen. It’s loud enough to happen even when I keep white noise running in his room. Would love if a developer could reply to this feedback because I’m really curious about it.
2- I’m never able to hear my dog when I turn on the sound. This part of the app seems broken to me. I can see he is barking but no sound comes out.
Otherwise this is a reliable camera and I have only had issues connecting to the feed a handful of times.

Doesn’t record when it should
I’ve had this device for maybe two years and have used it periodically for all the reasons everyone has already shared in the reviews. At first, it was perfect at picking up movement and sound and then initiating the recording function. This was before they instituted a very steep membership plan, which has now turned into two still very expensive levels of service to get the capabilities that the device initially had at the beginning free of charge. now I have to pay $150 for the premium service that has not made much of a difference, as the device barely ever picks up a recording unless I am constantly opening the app to check. I don’t know if this is a sensibility calibration issue, but I have it on the most sensitive settings and still nothing.

Don’t get the latest update!
The latest update puts a vet chat page right up front. No longer will your app open up to the homepage you are used to. Instead you have to do a search if you want to see any activity from people you are already following. And now you have to constantly touch the got it button or the X button every single time you go on somebody’s camera because they are constantly reminding you about the controls and how they work and that you have to turn off volume or turn on valium it’s completely ridiculous. They just keep making it worse. I don’t think I’ll probably even be using it much longer. Not to mention the cameras are over priced. You can get much better cameras that pan tilt & zoom for a fraction of the price. The only thing good about it was the social networking feature,,, which they completely screwed up. I have my own Vet, I don’t need their stupid vet check

Gets the job done but could be better.
So i got this app when i first got my kitten so that i could watch her while i was gone or at work to make sure she didnt get in any trouble. So far the App has been pretty good but has some issues that i think if they ironed out would make it that much better!
Pros :
its a great way to watch your pet.
Relatively fast video and audio over wifi.
Easy to set up and fairly easy to use.
If you pay for the full service it saves videos.
There support team is quick and peetty good at solving the problems.
Cons:
You cant move what order cameras are in.
The app doesn't record audio for the videos that it saves only in live does that work.
After each update there can be issues, the current issue i have is my app crashes and wont open even if deleted and reinstalled due to there most recent update.
Sometimes the cameras just stop working and you have to delete them and reinstall the whole camera as if it were new.
All in all i would recommend this app to others if they just need something yo get the job done ,and dont care about it working perfect all the time. Outside of that its pretty good:)!

App not reliable. Keeps crashing.
The last few updates have not fixed the issue with app constantly crashing after watching the video stream. The video crashes after a certain amount of time streaming. Using the latest iPhone still continues to make it crash. There might be a memory leak in the app that may be causing the crash after a certain amount of time. It usually crashes after the the stream is on 15 min or longer. Please fix this issue.
Also, it would great if you added Picture in Picture, that would be awesome to still be able to see the video stream while using other functions on my phone.

Too many ads. Stops working unless you update iOS
You buy a camera, it works for years (sorta), and they decide you must have iOS 14 to use the features and product you paid for. Well I can’t upgrade past iOS 13 for multiple reasons. The camera is useless now.
Installed app on a friend’s phone for a trip. Too many connection issues, upgrade ads when you minimize video, subscription ads when you close video, upgrade ads all over the place. I highly recommend any other pet cam. I paid for what it was advertised as and now they have taken away that ability to use it and all its features.
If they post a generic “Oh no, please contact us!” reply, then you know they didn’t read this review fully. There’s nothing they can do.
