Learn phonics vowel sounds, and letter combinations with this fun kids' game. Knowing vowel letters and their sounds is an important step in learning to read.
Phonics Vowels teaches each word's phonics spelling, beginning sound, word family phonics, short vowel sound, and images with animations and interactions for each word. There are 30 different vowel sound combination groups which focus on the short vowels, long vowels and two vowel combinations phonics learning. After kids complete the phonics spelling in each group, the matching game follows, and kids can review what they learned previously.
The game uses the Montessori Method for children to learn the phonics and spelling. It develops the kids hearing, learning, spelling, and pronunciation of the words. It is ideal for self-paced learning or home schooling.
This game teaches vowel sounds and their letter combinations in 30 different groups:

Good..But
The idea and implementation of this program is good. My only problem is the use of all caps. No educational program teaches children words using all caps.

DO NOT BUY!
I bought the full version of this app for 4 bucks and got completely ripped off - it only gives 30 words in all- about 6 words per vowel combo- to work with. While the method used is great - sound and visuals- it's a serious rip off and should be removed from the App Store.

Do not waste your $4
This is first Abitalk app that I have been less than impressed with. I purchased then"full" version to help kids with vowel sounds. How is providing words like _at and giving choices of 4 consonants working on vowel sounds. I would like a refund but I doubt that they will respond.

You only get one vowel at a time for cost!
The initial price gives you "a" vowels only and each additional vowel set is $2.99. That seems overpriced. ABC Reading Magic is better. They also need to fix minor glitches like on the reward page they spelled "dinosaur" wrong. Make it cheaper for the full set. It also shoul give more than four words per family (i.e. "ap" family, "at" family).

Nice app but bad purchase handling
I liked the trial version but when I went to upgrade to the full version...it would not keep my settings as a purchased app. So when I deleted the app by mistake and tried to reload it, it was in trial mode again and asked me to purchase the full version. Normally my purchased apps keep their status in the iPad purchased apps settings. So I am a little disappointed and I am not re-purchasing the full version. Other than that, my son liked the trial.

The content of this app and the delivery of the content are terrific. As a learning specialist, I would ask for a few changes so that this app could be more attractive to students beyond preschool.
1- Change the spinning dinosaurs to twinkling stars of various colors/textures.
2-Make the speaker's voice more mature and vary the responses.
3-Eliminate the flowers and the little girl standing near the bottom of the screen.

Description misleading. You don't get all vowels!
Only gives short A & E. Requires more $ for others & combos. Does not disclose that on description in App Store. I thought I was getting all as description says. As for what we got, we love it, but not worth the money for only two vowels. Far from comprehensive as expected, especially for the price paid. Very disappointing.

I installed, then wanted to try it before letting my grandson see it. As soon as I pushed on short vowels, the "buy full version" screen came up without an option to say "no". I had to exit app by using home button on iPad. Then I deleted the app.
