Best postcard app
I have used a number of postcard apps, this one is the best! The intuitive ease & flow of the app is amazing, the photos offered for use are beautiful, you also have the option of accessing your own photo library. It is easy to flip from front to back of the card & the message section gives you a lot of choice for font types. Addresses are easily added or you have the option of accessing your contacts within your device. The overall experience within the app is great, BUT what is this if the finished postcard is of poor quality??? Here is where this app truly shines! The finished card looks like something you would frame! The overall size of the card is around 5x8"! The print quality is stunning & the gloss lamination applied keeps the ink intact through the rough waters of the mail destroying Post Office! I have not seen any postcard that begins to compare in quality!!!
coach41,
Nice meld of Old School And New School
In the past few years, I went away from mailing (via US Postal) cards to friends and family. I went the digital route and send online electronic cards. Last year, I started using a photo collage app on my iPad to create a "holiday collage" but it became my own "personal Christmas" card that I emailed to friends.

I created a collage on my iPad once again this year. With the US Postal Service struggling a bit, I wondered if I could find an easy way to convert my collages into printable cards without having to do the printing / mailing myself. This is where I stumbled upon PhotoCard. The app allowed me to create my own card if I wanted to (much like the collage app I am using). However, as I had created the collage already, I simply imported the image into Postcards and off I went. It's not perfect as my image doesn't quite fill the screen but I was able to live with the limitation.

I paid for a large number of credits so I could have these cards mailed to some people I know as well as a friend of my mom's. I don't know how long this service will stay running but enjoy it for what it's worth. It's a great meld of electronic technology giving you the creativity to create your own card and then mixing it with the old school way of sending a card out by US Postal to friends and family.

Highly recommended.
JimSRussell,
It’s by Bill Atkinson, of course it is excellent!
I hardly ever send postcards, and haven’t yet used this app other than to glance at the introductory material, so don’t just take my word about this. Truth is, I found this app because I wondered if anyone had yet built a HyperCard app for iPhone (HyperCard was a wonderfully productive breakthrough app that Bill developed, and us outsiders could never understand why Apple had cancelled it.) Bill is already famous for being a (perhaps _the_) key inventor of the Macintosh; I hope he is as rich and happy as he deserves to be.

Back to the review—this already looks like one of the most professionally done apps on my iPhone. Come on, folks, it comes from Bill f’ing Atkinson, it’s gonna be perfect!

Added a few hours later: I have used it to send a card to my daughter. Now you can take my word for it— it is, as expected, outstanding!!
California Rob,
Best Application Ever
Outside of being one of the best designed applications I have ever seen, the response from the recipients of the PhotoCards are amazing. The quality of the printing and the concepts used in putting the card together are over-the-top. Virtually everyone that I have sent a card to enjoys them and many of them are now lined up on the front of the refrigerators under a magnet or in a frame. What a wonderful way to bring back a touchy and feely thing from the virtual world that we all live in with the Internet today. Congratulations to Bill Atkinson. I wish you a lot of success with the application and I only wish that I could do more to spread the word beyond my circles about how good this application really is!
A66eyroad,
Perfect for any kind of notes!
Great-grandma lives a thousand miles away and was always so sad to be missing her only great-grandchild’s milestones, so I send her an update about every two weeks of so. She just loves getting mail, and these cards are the best! I’ve tried other postcard apps, but these use much larger photos (great for 90-year-old eyes!) and I can select the font and size I want. Plus I can choose different “stickers” and stamps that go with my story. The app itself is very intuitive, but if you make a mistake it’s easy to correct. And the customer service is fast and efficient. I also use this app to send thank you notes, invitations, and birthday cards. Love it!
Père Noël,
Best post card app
PhotoCard by Bill Atkinson is the easiest, fastest and most user friendly post card on the market.
Producing beautiful, permanent cards is intuitive, step by step.
Features like custom stickers to custom stamps are available. Stock photos, stickers and stamps are already in the app. Cost for producing and mailing the completed cards is better and I find less than other apps and price per card drops depending on purchased credits. The completed cards are “jumbo” post cards - 8.25”x5.5” where most competitors offer 4”x6” generally for higher costs and less custom features.
The developer worked for Apple, so features of the app are Apple specific.
Usendme,
Terrific product and customer service
I don't usually write many reviews but felt compelled to pass on my personal experience with this app which I had originally heard from Leo Laporte's podcast. I knew I was on to something when 9/10 of my sent postcards made a point of thanking me after they received their card. I ended up sending one to myself to check it out and was impressed by the quality of the card. Creating the card is easy and very "Apple" like. The kicker was on my last card the app developer noticed an error in the address and made the correction as well and also emailed me explaining what the error was! All I can say is WOW.
bronxred,
The Very Best
BETTER THAN FELT (review update)
I’ve played around with PhotoCard’s gorgeous new Felt competitor, and while their offerings are beautiful, the pricing is positively predatory...not clear at all, lots of nickel & diming, expensive...and I already know my family *loves* PhotoCards, so I’m sticking with Bill! Send a test card to yourself and see.

ADDICTION WARNING (review update)
Still hooked. And no desire to break the habit! When I first got this app, I thought, "Cool. I can use my own pictures to make postcards!" But Bill's photos are so good they're all I've used so far. Also? They're not "postcards," they're big, beautiful, glossy, envelope-free cards. Every person who's received one of these babies has told me how much they love it. My latest excuse to send some? Holiday time!

PREVIOUS REVIEW
I'm sorry. This app is just a little too good. It's exactly what I've always wanted—a way to send "real" mail from a computer. And iPad is made for this kind of thing. And when I needed some help, Bill came through above and beyond. Nuff said. Thanks, Bill!
Eric W Lindsay,
Excellent and great way to keep in touch
I have been using this for over two years sending a weekly postcard to my now 2 year old grandson. His parents keep each one in a yearly three ring binder. This app is the best that I found: easy to use, numerous logical options, phenomenal printing, and consistency in quality and service. I have also sent to my siblings to keep in touch and they end up on refrigerators or their desks. Cost is very reasonable, OK, actually a great deal. When I purchased the app I did not know Bill Atkinson developed this but I should have known there was someone that is a genius with programming and a true artist. Thanks Mr Atkinson!
CMD of PDX,
Best Postcard App
I love this postcard app — i am eager for Bill Atkinson to release the new version. While my adventures have come to a grinding halt since Covid-19, I still want to send postcards to my mother. She’s nearly 90 and no longer uses her computer, iPad nor iPhone without help — an emailed card will likely not be seen.
She still has some of the cards I sent her over the years pinned to her bulletin board - the quality of the printed copy is excellent, and as stood the test of time.
Looking forward with great anticipation to the day when we can print again!
Thank you for the excellent app.
