Description

‏Also got a pedantic sense of aesthetics? Plane App allows you to capture minimalist photos of building façades. Straight lines stay straight in a fully automated way. Get rid of perspective effects and radial lens distortions on the fly. Discover the hidden beauty of every city with #planeapp.

Plane App uses computer vision algorithms to detect planes that are framed by orthogonal lines. Rectifying your camera feed in real time enables you to see how your photo will turn out before even capturing it. The algorithm does not only correct perspective effects but also radial lens distortion. That way, the straightness of lines in your scene will be preserved in your final photo. Just zoom out and see the actual transformation that is applied or let Plane App crop your photos to their ideal frame. You think you can do better than the algorithm? Drag the markers to four corner points of your object in order to refine the automatic correction.

You've got these amazing pictures of ancient façades from your last trip to Rome on your DSLR? Just import them to Plane App and transform them to minimalist pieces of art. And of course you can directly share them with your friends and followers.

Sunbird23,
very useful, accurate and fast app
yes! this app does what is intended to do and does it very well! tested other like gimbse for live correction, not as good fast or accurate. it also is much faster than likes of snapseed, vsco, lightroom for perspective correction, and seem to give you good accurate results with one click. I also tested with added wide angle lens and with photos from my dslr / mirrorless and really it does work well. highly recommended.

I wish that you can retain location information which seem to be lost. I also wish there is some similar tool to automatically et accurately straighten photos taken from a side angle. Finally it does occasionally bug or freeze and i just restart. Anyway very minor drawbacks, if you like to take architectural photos, this is a must and your money is well spent.
Alyssa Mia,
Fantastic job to the dev!
Whatever the algorithm you’ve created, it works beautifully! I am curious, have you tested a video recording mode? I know it would most likely be quite intensive to do on-the-fly.
Curious if A12-A13 / A12X processors and AI might help with? Though, wouldn’t be surprised if you attempted already.
I would definitely pay for such an option, if ever possible.
Anyways, well done! <3

Best in show
I typed “rectify photos” and this was the only choice.

Purchased. At first running, hit the plus, selected an oblique of a rectangular object.

Done! Can’t get easier. Impressed with the first launch. Exactly what I was looking for, exactly what the description said.
mediawax,
Didn’t work for majority of my photos
App didn’t straighten quality iPhone X pictures of buildings. There is no manual perspective adjustment. Only an automatic render. Images needing only a slight adjustment were not recognized. Those that were, did an ok job but shrunk the photo. So, it doesn’t add pixels like a Photoshop content-aware fill. Likely won’t use this.
