This fixes an issue some people had migrating their data from the previous version of the app into this new version. In case your data is migrated twice, just go into the game and person lists from the Home Screen and merge the duplicates. Cheers!

1.2.1

A quick update to address a crash some people had when scoring in history mode, as well as addressing people getting stuck creating a new player from the players list.

1.2.0 Release Notes:
Just in time for the holidays, this version makes two key features much easier: entering scores and adding players to games.

## Entering scores
One of the most requested features was to add a simple calculator to make it simpler to add up your scores. This is particularly helpful for those games late at night when your brain doesn't want to do any more. Simply calculate the score as needed, or just enter it directly.

## Adding players
The previous version made it much easier to add players that you had already set up, but it was a little harder to get them in the first time. Now, you can just type the player's name. If they've already played a game, you'll see them show up and you can tap to add them to the new game. Otherwise, just hit "Done" to create a new player. Quick and simple!

This version also added an Undo and Redo button right in the game screen to make it clearer and easier, addresses a number of bugs and makes minor performance improvements throughout the app.

Thanks for all your comments and feedback, as well as your generous tips. Reviews make it much easier for other people to find Pointedly, so if you have a minute to leave a review, that would be a huge help.

This is a quick fix to address crashing when reordering players. Sorry!

1.1.1 Release Notes:
- With some great help, this version addresses the problem of data not coming over from the previous version. Sorry for the trouble!
- Adds 3D Touch support for iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus with launch shortcuts and game previews.
- Simplifies navigation of your player list, which is especially nice when you have lots of players.
- Addresses some sizing issues to better support the iPhone 4S and other small screens.
- Other bug fixes and stability.

Note: If you had data in version 1.0, it will show up in this version. Since I added a player bank in version 1.1 that wasn't there before, you might end up with multiple versions of players from earlier games. If you delete a player that is part of any games, you will have the option to replace that player with someone else. This should help you consolidate your player list down to just the actual people that you want in your history.

Thanks for all your help and support! I really appreciate the feedback and kind tips that have been given to support ongoing development of Pointedly.

Along with iOS 9 support, this version adds some major updates. The app has undergone a beautiful design overhaul to make it easier to use. You now have the ability to restart a game with the same people and settings without overwriting the previous game and a bank of players so that you don't have to add the same person over and over again. We also added a gorgeous results screen so you can share all your victories.

Thanks for all your support and ideas. We are thrilled to be able to keep the app ad-free. We hope this makes your family games even easier!

warriorsword,
THE BEST
Thank you for adding my suggestion! This is exactly what I was looking for in a game tracker app, and my only hope is that this great app continues to be supported forever! It is so easy to use, adding photos to a player is a breeze. I love the tracking of wins with the little trophies. Everything about the app is great! HOWEVER I have another request- PLEASE add under the sorting page (where one can sort alphabetically by player, how many games played) Sort by GAME - my family and I play many different kinds of games. It would be so great to be able to sort stats by the type of game played. And also be able to sort by WINS and WIN PERCENTAGE overall as well as wins and win percentage within a particular game- that would be fantastic! Thank you for the great app!!
bionicnexus,
Great app for game nerds
We used to use a spreadsheet in excel to track our game scores. This app works great for recording scores in different games. For some games it works well to keep a running tally. Love that you can easily see top scores for different games as well as # of wins. The preloaded game directions and templates are handy as well. Also offering this app for free with no ads is pretty much one of a kind. They do occasionally ask for a tip but it’s not obtrusive and totally understandable. When I’m not completely broke I will definitely contribute as it is well deserved. A way to export data would be a cool feature to add for the super dorks to graph and analyze way further than you really should. Thank you for your generosity!!!
Navajoatlas,
Great tool to have for game night!
When we have family gatherings for the holidays, and any other event, it always ends in a late night game night. 95% of the time we are grabbing a notepad & pen to keep track of scores. The other times it using the Notes section on my phone which isn’t easier. This make it so much easier to keep track of the rounds, players and of course total score. This is worth having if you play games with your friends and family. If you don’t then you should start! I also like being able to add a picture next to the player’s name, not because it makes it easier to know who it is but to place hilarious pictures there. It’s also nice when a couple new people join for game night.
Orangeman3000,
Super Fun
I have tried 3-4 scoring apps over the years and none have been this easy to use, nor had this many fun features. I love being able to add players one time then have the app remember them for future games AND keep a record of their win/loss stats. I was also pleasantly surprised when adding a person mid game to have the app ask if I wanted to give them the average score. That was exactly what I was trying to do! Finally I love being able to share the scores with people in such a visual way.

Download this app and try it. It is worth the time.

If the programmer is looking for fun features to add, I would request a bar graph showing the current score. That would be so sweet for us visual people.
Youthleaderguy,
Best score keeping app
When I searched for an app to keep score this app was one of the first that I seen. No ads, no gimmicks, just simple score keeping! You can contribute to help but not required. One of the features I love is that at the end you can create a picture of everyone who played and who one (The BEST for bragging rights).
It uses your contact info and contact pictures which is neat. You don’t have to create people in the app you just pull from what’s already in your phone.
I’ve had this app for years and it still blows people away with how great and simple it is. Definitely worth the install and keep!!
Frudoc,
Beautiful! One request...
This is my favorite scoring app because it gets the basics right and looks so darn good doing it. One thing I would LOVE would be to have a nice configurable (times and alarm sounds) and good looking timer implemented. I hope the Dev will consider this. It would mean I only need one app out and that would be nice.

That said, can't stress how much I appreciate the asthetics. Really looks good and that matters to me.

Update: Thanks for your kind reply. I look forward to updates and will certainly be sending a tip after I post this. FWIW, I also like the suggestion from someone else for a “first to X” win condition (and a “best of x”, too if that’s not there), and possibly a note feature. Either way, thanks again.

Update 2: I don't see a way to sort by game played. For instance, it would be great if I could keep score for all our Ticket to Ride games and then be able to choose just Ticket to Ride in the archive in the future and see how many games we've played, a results summary, etc.
Liz335,
Love the app, please add a countdown timer :)
I love several things about this app. Simple but clean interface, ability to see the scores for each turn so you know if you missed adding a score, ease of starting a new game and players, the winner photo with trophy, and so much more. The addition of photo is my favorite feature and sets it apart from other timer app.

My only request is to PLEASE ADD a countdown timer (ie: 30 secs, 1 min, etc.) option within the app screen (maybe even with a subtle sound alert option when you’re 5 seconds from the end of the timer and also when it’s done) so we don’t have to use a separate app for a timer. Thanks for such a nice app.
sticks2012,
Essential for tabletop gamers
I’ve use Pointedly for at least 2 years, and it’s become essential for game nights.
I would give it 5 stars if the manual entry calculator that pops up would open with the current score I clicked on already in the calculator ready for adding to or subtracting from. The previous version I had did that, and when I upgraded, before I got used to it, I’d replace scores with the amount they just earned instead of adding to it. It was better the original way.
Even with that, I still love the app. Perhaps they will improve the manual entry so I can raise my rating to 5 stars.
jannahgirl🐶,
Must need! 💖😎🙌🏼👏🏼
Perfect for games like Qwirkle and sushi go when you have to add points. No ads or in app purchases! It’s easy to use and there’s just a tiny glitch that when you make the profiles and select a picture for it sometimes the picture is upside down 😳 but that only is a glitch if you care about the profile pics like me 😝🤣
Anyway, this is great, you need to try it and give it 5 stars ⭐️ bc it deserves it!

Awesome job, guys! Keep it up!🙌🏼👏🏼😎💖
R_I_C_A_N,
Update after a month
So, this app really is wonderful. I chipped in and donated because it was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I had to go from 5 stars to 3 because when I return to the app, it shows the last game as “in progress” instead of completed and showing the correct score. I really wanted a track record of who has won the most games categorized by the different games we play. Keeps the competiveness up! Hopefully this can be an easy fix by the developer. iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS 15.5. Even tried forcing the upload to iCloud..
