This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.
While it is nice to have a map of potential future submissions, it would be better if there was a satellite map feature so that could put the pins in a more accurate location.
Other than that, it is what it is.
Joeys Mom,
Organizes me
I see portals everywhere but can’t always submit them. Or I am traveling or the sun is not right or people are present. Yes, I could use “notes” or list or reminders. This is a tiny app that I can get to quickly without hunting. I like it a lot.
The portal submission mechanism isn’t that difficult. And at this late stage what volume is being submitted that the process needs to be automated?
Developer suggestion: date submitted and a green check box, date denied and a red check, date resubmitted purple checkbox?
Charles Ziegler,
Useful, but not for everyone
Bottom line: this app is a planner more than tracker
I'll admit I originally downloaded this app thinking that it would help me track my active portal submissions. I was mistaken, this app operates separately from ingress and has no way to track active submission status.
This app is a portal planner that keeps track of how long you have had an idea for a portal for. Unless you 'submit' a portal via this app at the same time as you submit it in ingress, it will most likely never be accurate as a submission timer. Even so, since it doesn't track the status via any means, this app will not tell you whether the portal is approved or denied.
This app is probably handy as a reference point for portals that are out of scanner distance when planning long links and fields, but still lacks the ability to allow you to plan links to see how they work or if they would require a link amp.
If this app really wanted to track portal submission, it would have to use gmail integration to parse the portal submission/rejection emails from Niantic.
Overall it's a decent start but really needs more features and backend work to really shine.
