Description

I like to think about this app as a natural evolution of the traditional drawing mannequin, I designed it to have minimal details and just some hints of anatomy, so it generalizes well with any kind of character I want to draw. As artistis aroudn the world started supporting it and appreciating it it eveolved beyond my best expectation in what it is now. Muliple mannequins, shuffling of parts, export of 3d models and much more. The screen space rotation method and others automatic features make your posing process faster and dynamic. Pose it and view it just the way you need it to strengthen and improve your human figure drawing skills or export the 3d models out of it for your sculpt or 3d projects.
Poseit was born as my personal tool to help me drawing the most challenging poses, during the lockdown I had to spend my vacations at home and I gave myself the challenge to polish it and publish it (yes it is my very first app). I hope it now can serve others as good as it served me. If you decide to unlock the pro version please be aware that, as solo indie developer, and being a pet project and not my main job, I cannot guarantee a proper support and further development of this app. Nevertheless it will be greatly appreciated :)

In this new version you will be able to access the finger posing system from the hand poses panel. You also will be able to change the color of main light, second light, and even the ambient light. In addition to that the main light can change type from directional to point light and be dragged around. Ambient occlusion has been added when you export your image and can be enabled in real time from the new checkbox in the options.

Fixes: galleries display all items fully, there is a reset purchase button, sticky feet work less trembly, slowly drifting body parts are now gone thanks to a rewritten dragging system, objs loads correctly in nomad

SoirEkim,
Excellent Companion App
I used to use the original style wooden mannequins and have upgraded to the super flexible life like “action figures” for my 3D sculpting prep work. Now that I’ve found PoseIt I feel that going from a real world prop to the CG platform a much more smooth transition. Being able to pose the sculpt is extremely user friendly and highly intuitive. Importing the posed mannequin into Nomad Sculpt is a breeze and has me wishing the two applications could join forces and become one. If not than I’d love to import my own sculpts into PoseIt for the simplicity there in.

Sure there are a couple issues:
The most noteworthy is when I imported a test pose into Nomad the mannequin’s pose was mirrored on the X axis. Not sure if this was because of some thing I did but PoseIt does allow for flipping the pose which corrected this issue (an unnecessary extra step).

The least noteworthy is that over rotating certain parts cause a deformation in the mannequin’s other parts. For example, if rotate a hand beyond human capability the forearm compresses thinly rather than staying a solid structure like the wood it portrays.

Neither of these “issues” are reason enough not to purchase this application. I wouldn’t’ve paid for the Pro unlock upon thinking PoseIt was a waste. On the contrary, I quickly found myself highly impressed and quite happily paid to add free tax.

PoseIt has now become a permanent part of my creator’s tool kit.
DedicatedGhost,
Honestly phenomenal
I legit cannot get enough of this app. I do illustration and concept art, and I have the Pro version of this app. Being able to quickly create my own mannequins out of different parts and resize the pieces however I like, and then on top of that connect primitives to each part to add character specific shapes and features, and STILL be able to pose it all flawlessly. It's amazing. Bravo.

I gotta say too that the posing system is very cleverly designed. Switching between IK and FK feels like muscle memory now. Just a difference of dragging with 1 or 2 fingers. You clearly know what an artist would want, because of course you are an artist yourself, app designer. So thank you for releasing such a phenomenal tool like this to the public!

My only real criticism would be easily fixed in a patch, so I won't let this reflect on the score at all. But I have once or twice accidentally overwritten a scene when I meant to load one. I would ask for you to add maybe an "Are you sure?" popup if you select overwrite, just to give the user another chance in case they pressed the wrong button. Unless I haven't updated yet, and this is already fixed. If so, ignore what I said!
Guzmaniaa,
I’m not sure why this app has nearly 5 stars.
This app is a pretty mediocre posing tool, and there are many little things that make me averse to using this. First and foremost, pinching to zoom in/out has too little sensitivity while using one finger to move the camera has WAY too much sensitivity. The models look fine, I especially love the inclusion of the horse model, but the human models are severely lacking. The graphics of the models are also quite crunchy-looking due to there being no anti-alias in the graphics engine, which makes them not great to look at. I was also unpleasantly surprised to find the hands nor the feet are bendable in any way. Hands and feet should not be an after thought, especially considering this app has apparently been out for 12+ years? It just feels like all of the effort is put into unnecessary areas to make this app flashy and pretentious when, at the end of the day, this is a posing tool that does the bare minimum. If you’re looking for a posing app that will actually serve as better reference material for your art, you would be better off installing magic poser, because at least on that app you can pose every part of the model and moving the camera around is actually intuitive.
uberSPED,
A true competitor to Art Pose Pro.
Art Pose Pro was one of the only mobile posing apps I would use because of the quality and quantity of available actions. As soon as I downloaded this app I was easily able to create a unique and interesting character within just a few minutes. The lighting is very easy to use, the fabric and cloth simulation is interesting and I would like to see where it goes. My only complaint is at the moment there are only a few options for characters and props. I would like to see what’s in store for this app and see how far it goes. It’s a very useful app and I recommend giving the creators some support so they can keep working on this app!
Dang_Dingo,
Great app for references but the Pro feature did not work.
I’ve been using this app for some time now without the Pro feature and I can still pose and use all sorts of different props. It’s a great app, better than others I’ve used. Just recently I wanted to purchase the Pro feature in order to have more props and more posing options. I paid for it only to find that one feature to be unlocked. I was confused maybe because the app hadn’t figured it out that I had purchased it so I reset the local files since maybe the app was not working properly. I opened it back up to find the one unlocked feature locked again and the other Pro options were still not unlocked. I wasted 5 dollars (only 5 bucks but I’m still a little upset that I wasn’t given the Pro) on something I never got. I don’t know if this has happened before but I want to know if there’s a way to get the Pro feature again without paying again since I’ve already paid.

Confusing Controls
While the 3D references themselves are nice, the controls are difficult to work with. I have tried adjusting the arms multiple times with different sensitivity in the settings, but it was difficult to manage the pose I wanted. When you just do a circular motion, the pose rotates in an odd angle and the blue arrow does not work at all. I hope the developer could adjust the controls so it easier to adjust the joints instead of just the center of the limbs. If this changes I will be more than happy to try out the app again.
UPDATE 09/03: Watched the tutorial as recommended by the developer and tried the app again. It was helpful, but the struggle to adjust the pose easily while also considering the anatomy to create the pose I wanted was still there. Again, I think some extra adjustable tools with the arrows that help rotate would be nice for more control over the details of the models. I appreciate the advice given from the developer otherwise.
Relished Artistry,
Great App, Hope it Develops Even More
I have had this app for a long time, and one of the things I appreciate is that it’s still being updated when others seem to die on the vine. I love how it’s very very easy to use, but I do wish for one thing: the capacity to adjust the weight and musculature of the mannequins. The posing is great—especially how the entire figure can shift its center of gravity in a simple gesture and automatically readjust all the limbs. But to change the figure from perfect proportions to something with a bit more realistic variety would be a game changer. Overall, though, this app has enough flexibility to be incredibly useful without being horrifically daunting. I highly recommend it!
sunyesta,
The BEST
This app is AMAZING. The posing mechanics are so much better than other 3D poser apps I’ve tried which makes me able to pose something up in minutes! Some suggestions I have that would make the app even better are allowing importing of our own 3D models to use as props and ability of rescaling the figures. Another suggestion i have is something that may be too complicated but I’ll just put it out there: breakdown animations. So basically like you can save poses as well as camera angles as key frames to frames in a timeline, then you can watch it back. Having this feature with no interpolation would be really useful! Even without these features though, I’d say this app is the best. Thank you! 💗
UniversalGamer961,
Love this app, some QOL changes needed
I’d love for there to be a locked x-y-z axis slider to not have the objects I’m trying to put together off centered when moving them into place, like when making an arrow for the bow. In that topic, the ability to have the shapes made together to become a user created object would be a great idea, it would have to not just be locked together but completely fused as if it was originally one so it can properly be used as a prop. I love this app and what you provide already, I’d love to provide ideas on how to add more flair. P.S. adding a way to use key poses you create manually with sliders in order to fine tune certain poses would be a nice addition too as well as grid placement.
LemnBb,
Way too many Ads
This app is good, its got potential. Its just the fact you either have to spend money, or watch an ad to get another item or to change the mannequins gender. Oh but no, you have to watch an ad for EACH ITEM and EACH PRESET POSE. And the ads dont always give you the things you watch them for. My first time trying this app at first turned out fine, it functions alright and it was simple enough to understand. Its just that if your impatient and dont have any money to spend, weather your a minor or you just dont want to spend any more money on things to help you with art, this app is basically useless if you want variety in characters. I would suggest this app if you have a lot of time to watch hundreds of ads. But, i sadly am an impatient student who can barely afford food to feed my fat face, so this app just isnt for me.
