Thank you to all who have written us with your stories and thanks about how RideReady helped you pass your FAA checkrides! Your feedback allows us to even refine and improve our content to allow future pilots to be even more confident and knowledgeable as they go into their FAA practical tests, and your kind words help keep us going! This latest RideReady update adds a number of new questions and updates a number of charts and graphs to be more current. Questions have been modified to correspond to new airspace rules and airspace classifications. Usability has been improved in a few places and the app should be a bit faster overall. We've fixed a few small bugs dealing with custom aircraft data too. This is also the first new version since we've added JR, another former FAA designated pilot examiner to our editorial team, so you can look forward to content based on his 20 years of experience as an examiner integrated into the question databases soon. Remember, with RideReady, updates are free for life. Happy flying!

Private pilot checkride
Purchased this a month ago. Have had to reload it 4 or 5 times from iTunes from my laptop. Once it crashes on the iPad, I've
not been able to reload it on account that it's already installed. Happy, however, with the content. But, there seems to some serious bugs remaining.

Great App
I have tried to use other applications to help me study for various FAA tests but they would have outdated questions or it would only be a final test and not help with the preparation of the test. I believe that the work that was put into this app but all the other apps that they have made is extremely well thought out and done in a fashion that makes it easy for the user to customize what they need to study for and what they are having trouble remember for the test. They also have amazing customer support for any questions that you have or any problems you have with the app. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to study for an FAA test and be able to study anywhere at anytime.

Too repetitive
Feels like 20-30% of the questions/answers are repeats and is not good for quick studying leading up to your Checkride. Is it accurate? Most likely yes and that's why I'm giving it a 3 instead of a 2. I've liked the other private pilot VFR apps from this company but seems like the content has not been cleaned up enough on this yet. It's also funny to see their responses to users submitting questions - responses seem combative and generally point out how wrong their users are. This is a good work in process but needs to be refined.

This app is wonderful. I'm getting back into flying after twenty years, my instructor suggested your software saying 'there have been some changes in airspace since you last flew(!)'; Dauntless is what he recommends to all his students.
I can feel I'm getting smarter already. Seriously, just a short time of review, alternating between, oh, yeah I remember that and huh?, makes it crystal clear the importance of absorbing and retaining this crucial information.
Bravo to Dauntless for creating such an elegant, useful tool.

Not as Google as Ground School title
The questions in this app are fine, but it doesn't help you track your status of review very well.
The app is unfortunately somewhat defective as well. After updating the first time (which took far longer than downloading the app) all attempts to update would run for a very long time. Then just when it seemed the update was done, the app crashed. This happened on both iPad and iPhone. Finally the app would no longer load because of some database error.

Excellent Prep
I purchased other software from Dauntless and it really does help with studying. The other programs helped me get my A&P License and also pass the Private Pilot Knowledge Test. This software does exactly what I want. I am able to flag questions for review with my CFI and I even learned a few things that my CFI hasn't taught me. Keep up the good work. I plan on purchasing your instrument and commercial license apps real soon.

There are nearly a 1000 checkride questions covered by this app, lovingly, with extremely useful illustrations and/or colloquial explanations. I feel very confident about passing my checkride with this app in my arsenal

Serious Problems
Paid the 35 bucks and the program doesn't work. Takes you to the aircraft choice screen and freezes there with no way to back out. Requires complete shutdown of IPad to get back to original screen, then again freezes when you attempt to open. Not only that, but ever since downloading this program...I can no longer open my ITunes store, so I cannot even report the problem. Don't waste your money until the problem is corrected.

Do Not Waste Your Money
Do not get suckered as I did. The app is very glitchy, and has a built-in "It's your fault" message that appears when it will not load. The developers were no help either, repeating that it was my fault, "too many apps on my pad."
The only way I could get it to load again was to delete the app, then re-install it. It would work until it froze-up the next time. There are poorly written sentences, as stated before. The softcover Gleim was better as a prep guide.

Excellent Preparation for the Check Ride
I found this app to be quite useful in preparing for the oral portion of the checkride. I also found it to be a good knowledge review and helpfull reminding me where I need to concentrate. The flagging capability is a good way to remind me what I need to review with my CFI.
