Putt Buddy unleashes the power of your LiDAR-equipped iPhone to automatically measure the distance, speed, and outcome of your practice putts with astonishing accuracy!
With Putt Buddy's simple and intuitive interface, setup is easy and takes under a minute. After a quick walk around the putting area to show Putt Buddy around, just set your iPhone in a stable location, enter the frame, and...start putting! Your location is tracked in real time and in three dimensions, allowing you to putt freely from pretty much anywhere within frame.
Each session has its own statistics and photo(s), which you can overlay with your putts' trajectories to visualize trends and identify problem areas. Cumulative statistics and graphs are also provided to track your progress over time!

This update features a complete rewrite of the putt tracking algorithm that dramatically improves accuracy and consistency!
Right away, you should notice:
-Much smoother and more accurate trajectory lines
-Far better performance in bright sunlight (the sun finally came out in the PNW, so now Putt Buddy knows what shadows are and how to avoid them)
-Improved detection of chain outs and other misses that tend to fall straight down from the basket
-More accurate and consistent velocity and miss calculations
The new system also tracks a lot more parameters than previously and is highly extensible, so expect accuracy to continue to improve going forward thanks to your support!!
Other bug fixes and improvements, including:
-Fixed a bug that could cause a crash during saving
-Fixed a bug that prevented "Never" Battery Saver option from working
-Improvements to Battery Saver to further reduce power consumption during putting sessions
-Adds a link to r/PuttBuddy in Settings for additional support options
-Adds a link to Review Putt Buddy in Settings (if you're having issues, use r/PuttBuddy or Report a Problem so that I can fix the issue!)

Cool concept, doesn’t work well
I love the idea of this app, however I tried to use it about 10 times today and it only registered about 2-5% of my putts. It has trouble recognizing the putters and tracking me around my yard. It needs some refinement.

Compatibility issue
App Store shows it is compatible with my iPhone 12. This phone doesn’t have LiDAR technology, unable to use the app. You may want to fix this.
