Bug fixes: Fixed a problem where some completed puzzles were not indicated as completed in the Table of Contents. Fixed some minor problems with diagramless crosswords.
Thanks for using Puzzazz! We always appreciate feedback and especially 5-star reviews.
6.1.1
2019-10-07
Improved iOS and iPadOS 13 compatibility, improved diagramless crosswords, improved support for physical keyboards, color tweaks to improve legibility for color blind people, other bug fixes and improvements. The puzzle answers for The Maze of Games have been released, which means hints may now be used when solving.
This release fixes problems with importing downloaded puzzles in .puz and ipuz format into Puzzazz in iOS/iPadOS 13. Note that the way files are downloaded and opened in some applications has changed significantly with iOS/iPadOS 13, and different apps provide different user interfaces for downloading and opening files. Some apps may require you to Download a puzzle and then Open it, while others provide a single operation which both downloads and opens a file. In some applications, you must Save a file to Apple's Files app before you can open it. In Safari, you must download a file and then tap on the downloads icon (a circle with a downward arrow in it at the top of the screen) in order to open the files.
The Puzzazz app does not have any control over the process until after you choose to Open a file in Puzzazz (this may be labeled Copy to or Share with in some cases). The Puzzazz choice may be hidden by default. If this happens, there is a More button which will reveal additional choices; you may need to scroll to see it (in most cases, you can promote Puzzazz so it will always appear without having to use the More button). Some applications report that they support ipuz files but do not actually seem to support them. If you choose such an application to open an ipuz file, nothing will happen (and Puzzazz will not open either).
6.1.1 fixes some problems with iOS 9 and iOS 10 that occurred with 6.1.
If you are using iOS/iPadOS 13, we recommend you get 13.1.2
Thanks for using Puzzazz! We always appreciate feedback and reviews.

iPhone X support, Diagramless crosswords, on-screen cursor keys, improved keyboard, and more.
• You might say the iPhone X has an unusual screen shape. We certainly would. It took a bit of twisting, but we now fully support the “notch” and the curved corners.
• We’ve added diagramless crosswords! If you’re a New York Times subscriber, they have lots of great diagramless puzzles on their Archives page, and Puzzazz is the only way to solve them on your iOS device.
• There have been a lot of requests for on-screen cursor keys, and now they’re here. And, yes, they work for all the crazy puzzle types Puzzazz supports. Turn them on in the Settings menu.
• Keyboard keys now highlight when they’re pressed, helping you notice and correct typing mistakes quicker.
• We fixed a bunch of bugs, including better handling of puzzles with redacted solutions and resolving issues with some puzzles on small screen iPhones.
• 6.0.2 includes minor bug fixes for downloaded puzzles and on-screen keyboards

It’s all about feedback from you! We improved the on-screen keyboard, added cell number options, and more.
* We completely reworked the on-screen keyboard, making it more responsive and better looking. You now have the option of a larger size for the keyboard, with keys that are the same size as those on Apple’s keyboard, which is particularly useful on phones when you’re not using TouchWrite. Choose whether you prefer a taller keyboard or a few more clues visible with the Keyboard Size option.
* We’ve added an option for larger cell numbers in crosswords and other grid puzzles. Your choices are Standard, Large, and Giant.
* You can now choose which sound gets played when you finish a puzzle correctly or allow Puzzazz to pick a random sound as it has done in the past. You can still turn sounds on or off with a single tap.
* We fixed a problem that caused some New York Times variety puzzles to load incorrectly.
* And, of course, we squashed a variety of bugs

◆ The Library button provides quick access to all the ebooks you own
◆ The Timer can now be cancelled if you start it by mistake (tap the Timer to pause, then Cancel)

4.1.7
2016-09-24
• Minor bug fixes
• This is the last release of Puzzazz which will support iOS 5.1.1 through iOS 6.1.6. If you have a device which cannot upgrade to iOS 7 or beyond, you will be able to continue to use this version of Puzzazz, including books you already own or new ones you purchase, plus you will still be able to have the New York Times crossword downloaded automatically (for NYT subscribers only) as well as solve puzzles you download from the Internet for free.

• Puzzazz 4.1.6 supports all versions of iOS between 5.1.1 and the latest release, and all devices that will run those operating systems.

* Compare your solve times with others on our new Leaderboards. Every puzzle, including New York Times crosswords and puzzles you download, has its own leaderboard. To add your solve time to the Leaderboard, start the timer when you start solving a puzzle. To view the leaderboard, tap the Show Leaderboard button at the top of your solved puzzle.
* You can now clear a puzzle and start over, convenient if you share your device with somebody else.
We also fixed some problems with iOS 5.1 that affected some puzzles in The Maze of Games. 4.1.1 adds some additional minor bug fixes.
If your last version was Puzzazz 3.x, read the Version 4.0 release notes for info on improved support for iPhone 6 and iOS 8, the puzzle timer, solve sounds, and more.
We're always interested in your feedback. If you love what we're doing, we greatly appreciate 5-star reviews. If you think we can be better, please let us know via the contact form in the app or on our web site. Thanks!

* Optimized for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with higher resolution graphics and customized layouts that show more clues on the larger screens. You’ll be amazed by how awesome crosswords can be on a phone!
* Optimized for iOS 8 on all devices.
* New puzzle timer lets you time yourself while solving puzzles. Tap to turn it on or choose to start timing automatically whenever you start a puzzle. Another tap pauses when you want to take a break.
* Easily share your solve times with your Facebook and Twitter friends.
* Fun sounds add an extra reward when you solve a puzzle. Of course, you can easily turn them off and on at any time.
* Support for even more puzzles than ever, including many types of puzzles never before seen on any digital device.
* Added support for the Maze of Games.
* Improved support for New York Times crossword subscriptions (remember to use your email address, not your name, when you enter your subscription information).
And ... we didn’t change the fantastic user experience that’s all about the puzzle, but we did tweak it in a few places in response to your feedback. More feedback is always welcome — use the contact form in the app or on our web site. Thanks!

With Puzzazz 3.2, you can solve any puzzle you have or can download in .puz or ipuz format, at no additional charge. Simply visit an author’s web site in Safari and tap the Download or Solve in Puzzazz link for the puzzle you want to solve.
When you see a Solve in Puzzazz link on a puzzle author's web site, it means that the author is providing you a puzzle that matches the print version of their puzzle, a feature exclusive to Puzzazz.
