TheSatsui,
Constantly stops sync - okay UI
I can’t comment on the features because I can’t get anything to upload. It constantly stops unless I’m actively staring it, and even then it stops. Network is good and so is WiFi connection on phone. Large videos stop for no apparent reason after finishing uploading.

Pretty much useless at this point.

UI is fine, if not dated as others have mentioned. Hope they get the uploads working soon.
webtechy8,
Getting better, finally useable
As others have wrote, this is pretty typical of QNAP apps as for this recent release (1.1.0) it’s at least useable.

It still has quite a few issues where I’ve already sent support tickets like any videos uploaded by an iPhone are iOS only and can’t be viewed by Android/Windows. No iOS Live Photo’s support, no iPad native/universal app, creating accounts for NAS users as an admin can cause confusing permissions issues when creating a NAS album, no ability to share from the mobile apps (have to create shares thru web UI).

I’m sure I could go on but the basic functionality to at least upload your photos thru your phone and backup photos at least make this update at least more useable now. Gave this release 4 stars (really 3.5) as it’s more useable than some of QNAPs other mobile apps (Synology not a lot better either) but at least this app is still getting updates.
huedaman,
Remember “user friendly”? Update
This ain’t it. What possible sense is there to display a page full of microscopic random frames from each movie with total runtime displayed over each? No file names, no option to change the display. May as well just have a single button that says “make random selection”! Was this design ever reviewed by a person or was it just OK’d by AI? And this is supposed to replace Qvideo?

Update- it gets infinitely worse. If you grow tired of qumagie using 100% of your nas cpu to the point it logs you out while it is trying to group faces and objects (doing a horrible job of both - though it does a fairly good job of saying your raw and jpeg versions of the same image are “similar”) and you decide to delete this abominable app from your nas, you will find that deleting qumagie also removes/invalidates your existing Qphoto and Qvideo databases, rendering those apps useless well before their official EOL.

Photos and videos are still there - you just can’t access them with Qphoto or Qvideo.

You have been warned. Probably should have been using a simple file manager in the first place…
Fromanjensen,
Good start! Needs work...
It’s a pretty typical QNAP app from what I’ve seen. Functional, but rough around the edges. Like Qphoto, they need to update the UI to come up to modern standards. Less buttons and more gestures, for instance.

Also, make it landscape compatible throughout and not just on photos!

The ability to tag faces (or remove or fix tags) in photos would be nice for people with permission to do so. Also, being able to rotate photos would be great too.

And while I have many more criticisms, I realize this is a 1.0 release so more may be in the works, but I’d really like it if the photo’s comment/description was a little easier to see and edit. I like to write descriptions for the family trip photos, so being able to see them at the bottom of the photo would be so much better than having to go into the info section and tapping the button to display it.
Depa33,
Mediocre
Yet another mediocre iOS app from Qnap. This is just a marketing move by Qnap to trap customers in thinking they got it all covered. Basic features only. If you want to do anything with face recognition - forget it. The regular web app is far better and, most importantly, allows you do real things.
jayanar,
Crashes and does not work
Everyone is searching for a way to replace google photos with their own network solution. This would be a good solution in theory but does not work. The app does not work whatsoever. Even if it did work it does not have the same search features as something like google photos

Maybe one day there will be a solution one day but I haven’t found it yet
Der_Stern,
You have to keep your phone unlocked and stare at the app
You have to keep your phone unlocked and stare at the app if you want to upload anything. This is ridiculous.
iDAVIDCH,
Tags managing please!’mov’ of Live Photos delectable please!
Tags remotely managin should be integrated in QuMagie please!
And most important, ‘mov’ file should be deleted or moved together with jpg/heic pictures!

Please use standard metadata info to make this less of a toy please!
cockneyusa,
Nice app except......
The index page only shows in portrait mode. When exiting a landscape photo you see the thumbnail page in landscape for a second and then it reverts to portrait. iPad Pro 2018
SP3KTR3,
Good start
Any way to add chromecast support? One of my family’s favorite activities is to look at old photos or home videos on the TV through chromecast.
