Description

R is a free statistical, visualisation and data manipulation software. Anyone who works with data can benefit from using R but it is hard to learn.

Created by scientist and educator Dr Shidan Murphy, R Instructor is a statistical and R reference guide. The application uses plain, non-technical language and over 35 succinct videos to guide new users and reinforce concepts for advanced R users. The number and scope of the videos and content will continue to increase.

R Instructor will teach you how to use R, how to make and modify plots and run statistical tests. Each example includes a very brief (and easy to understand!) description of the function or test, any statistical assumptions, how to structure your data in R, the R scripts (code) and, links to other free and online resources. Where appropriate, the Mac, Windows and RStudio versions of the R interface are explained separately.

R Instructor also allows you to run RStudio through the web from your iPad or iPhone (Note: This is a public server that requires an internet connection -- do not expect to accomplish serious computing)

In addition, R Instructor comes complete with 10 Quick Reference guides and the "Which Test?" feature. The "Which Test?" feature guides you to the correct statistical test after you answer questions related to your data.

RStudio: the best app for R in iPad
Compared to the other three I bought that are useless, RStudio lets me study my old econometrics, follow nice implementations, get additional packages, and all under the same interface as in Mac. Kudos for RStudio and million thanks to its creator and maintainer Shidan Murphy. Joaquin Gutierrez.
Elkhanany,
Great application
I love the app. Simple interface, quick to the point cheat sheet for everyday analyses and some advanced concepts as well (such as PCA). It has a nice "which test" algorithm. Overall great app.
SimpleSoftware,
Excellent Guide & Reference
This is an excellent guide and reference worth every penny. Within minutes I was able to import and plot Excel data. The user interface is well structured allowing quick access to specific topics. It can also be used as a tutorial by simply starting at the main page and progressing through the pages in order. There are many live links to outside resources.

I use this program as my regular "R" manual on my iPad. Contrary to one reviewer (who must have been having a very bad day) I find this program extremely useful.
mrcolson,
Very Helpful App!
I am new to R, which appears to be a powerful yet confusing beast to master, and I have found this app to be a big help. The videos are short and to the point, and very good - they have helped me a lot to get up and running. I would welcome more of them. The reference material is also very good, and will be useful for those times when you can't remember exactly how to get R to do what you want. Responsive developer, as well. All in all a very nice app.
Jayape,
Great app for learning R
I'm new to the R language so I picked up this app for my iPad3. I find it very useful. The basics are well covered and the videos help show the concepts. The app comes with an interface to connect to an online version of R Studio so you can test what you learn righ inside R, very handy. The developers are helpful and responsive. I highly recommend this app if you want to learn R
Dr. Steve 2012,
Best stats app!!
This is an excellent application. This opens up many possibilities for performing statistics, it goes far beyond being a reference. R Instructor has many features to perform advanced stats, learn from the tutorials, and the instructor provides excellent customer service. I highly recommend this app!
Yuna Jhang,
Love this app
The app comes handy when you do not know where to start. Sometimes I go to google or any written instructions on how to use R, but only R-instructor gives you the most direct answer to your questions. Totally worth it!
Kasemontana,
R Instructor is great for learning R
R Instructor is great for learning R. If you are starting out with R or if you are already R, you will find something that is useful. I especially like the decisioin tree for assisting what type of statisical test you should do depending on your data.
spurgemastur,
Committed support
I bought this app mostly to run rstudio on my mobile so I've only given the instructionals a cursory look but they look like the'd be pretty helpful. The app gets high ratings because support is scary fast & effective.
THE Platter!,
Amazing app for all levels of users
There are hardly any R app in the store, but at least there is this one. It has wonderful overviews of concepts and very clear examples. Thank you for you continued work on what is already such a great app!
