The RaceOwl app provides position tracking support and checkpoint updates for RaceOwl.com - Your home for Canoe and Kayak racing!
Download/install the app, set your boat number, select your race and the RaceOwl tracker does the rest. Your boat's position is posted periodically to the RaceOwl.com site. You and your friends may use the RaceOwl site to track your position relative to other racers and view your track on the interactive map. The phone screen does not need to remain on for the app to work; racers may just start the app, turn off the screen and put the phone away.
Checkpoint updates are made easy with the RaceOwl app. Verify your boat number (or enter a friend's for a temporary override) on the checkpoint screen. Select your checkpoint, Press IN if the racer has just arrived or OUT if the race is exiting. Then press Send to upload the information to RaceOwl.com.
With Raceowl you have the ability to participate in throwdown events in addition to large organized race events. Throw downs are your training runs and small races that can you can register for and then track your event online.
In addition to checkpoint updates and tracking, the RaceOwl tracker app also provides:
- enhanced checkpoint security with an authorization code
- Speed (maximum, current, and average)
- Elapsed time
- Total miles
- Latitude and Longitude
- Location track export
- checkpoint logging with RaceOwl status
NOTE: This App uses Location Background Mode to track your race position. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
