Description

ReadingPlan helps you track your progress as you read through the Bible. You can start a plan at any time, progressing at your own rate or on the schedule dictated by the plan. You can optionally link to an online bible site to see the day's readings in the application's built-in web view, or launch a native bible app (if supported.) Five plans are installed by default; many more are available for download from within the app, or you can create your own.

gmgodwin,
Excellent, Flexible App
My wife and I have been using this app to guide our Bible reading over the past year, and it has been a great help to us. After reading through the Bible together in 2015, we started 2016 by slowing down to read one book at a time along with a commentary or two, plus a Psalm or Proverb every day. We've been using ReadingPlan this whole time to guide our reading. Creating a custom reading plan and adding it to the app is very easy, and I want you to know how much we've benefitted from your app. There are a couple of features I'd like to see at some point (e.g., syncing across devices, the ability to create a custom plan without using a Mac), but that doesn't detract from how useful this app has been. The ability to craft our own reading plan and put that plan on each of our iPhones to follow together is fantastic.
highlandburne,
Has helped me for multiple years!
We all look for apps to change our behavior for the better and few deliver. This is a simple app that assists you in being consistent with you Bible readings (as well as other reading). There are a fantastic number of plans for reading through scripture and devotionals. It even has updates on your progress that can be sent to others to give you that extra nudge. The developer has timely with support communication. He even took a suggestion I and a few others had and implemented it. He then proceeded to personally email me when the change had been made. I wish I could buy this app or give him a tip, but he won’t accept it.
ChaceLV,
Flexible, versatile & great for multiple people at once
I love this app. First my favorite part is that I can read it in chronological order. (In order of how things happened) I can split each days reading into a line list for each book so if I start reading now and get interrupted I can check off the chapter I finished and come back to finish the others later without being totally lost. Also I enjoy that me and my kids can each keep our own reading plan here. They can check where I am and I can check where they are. We can keep each other accountable. It’s nice for a family that wants to work together.

Just all in all a clear, easy to use and understand app.
MaidenMontana,
Excellent App for Daily Bible Reading
I’m using this app to cover the Bible in a year with my family. Each evening, after dinner, we read the assigned portion and then we write down our thoughts of what we read in our 5-Year-Line-A-Day Journal. We’re using the Thematic option and I love how it covers the portion in Genesis and then takes us to Psalm, Hebrews or 1John to cover the related information. I also like that we can link to an online Bible and it will take you to that website. The app is easy to use, my 8 and 10-year-olds like to check off what they read for the day on their iPads and see how far we’ve gone. I have recommended this app to a few friends.
SCtutor,
Simple, versatile
I have been using Reading Plan for several months now. I began my yearly reading under a different system, but Reading Plan allowed me to enter my old progress and switch to a different type of schedule. I usually read on my tablet because it allows me a bigger print size than my paper Bible. Now that Reading Plan supports dark mode, it's even better! I use split view to track the end of the current passage in a sidebar while I do the actual reading in a bigger pane. With both Reading Plan and my Bible app in dark mode, eye stress is greatly reduced.

For the times I am away from home, linking my tablet and phone helps keep me on track on either device.

I am looking forward to experimenting with developing my own personalized reading schedule using the developer's instructions.

When I reached out to the developer with a feature request, I had a response the very same day. The friendly support and flexibility of use in Reading Plan make it a great tool for keeping track of daily Bible reading!
Stefanos Gatdoulos,
Best Bible Reading Plan App
Hands down, this is the best Bible reading app for iOS devices. The customer support is responsive and helpful via emails for any questions or problems. This app basically offers every Bible reading plan out there and the hardest part about this app is choosing the right Bible reading plan for yourself.

This app syncs across all my iPads and iPhone. I have been using this app for several years now to do my Grant Horner Bible reading plan (10 chapters a day); and I’ve tried other apps for this reading plan; but this app is the best for my reading plan. It’s easy to use and has many granular features for the avid Bible reading student / teacher.

You can choose virtually any Bible reading iOS app to link with this app (Olive Tree, Youversion, Logos, etc.)

Best of all, this app is free. Download this app if you love reading Gods holy and infallible Word; You will not be disappointed!
Tats is awesome,
Thank you!
You have helped me in more ways than you will every know I recently got this and already I feel closer and closer to god. In my journey towards God I live in a Christian home but in a way I feel like that has put be back and set a barrier between me and God. I feel like I have heard the same things over and over by the same people I need to hear it more from scripture tan from people. That is just one reason why this app already has helped me so much. I just want to say thank you to the people who designed this app. God bless you.
The Seeking Disciple,
Very Helpful App
If you struggle to read the Bible, this app helps. There are so many reading plans. I do the 5 Day plan as it gives me two days off a week which helps me a bunch so I don't feel overwhelmed or if I’m behind in my reading.

Overall a great and useful app. Simple to use. Just always remember, Christ alone is our salvation and reading the Bible points us to Him. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone to the glory of God alone by Scripture alone.
npsjfjowkej234,
Simply elegant app for bible reading
I love this app! I use it almost every day of my life. It’s obvious that the developer puts his heart into it and all for free. I would be willing to pay for a premium version of this if he ever offered it.

Feature wish: . An organization of the reading plans might add some usefulness and elegance. The list of possible plans is long and unwieldy. I am thrilled to find the search feature though. Thanks for all your work, James!
J2appuser,
Flexible, powerful, excellent
The developer has obviously put hours of work into this app to make it useful for others.

App is very flexible. You can track many existing reading plans and documentation is provided to build your own if needed. You can track multiple reading plans and enable notifications to remind you.

Powerful linking feature. I love how you can tap a given reading and it will open the passage in your preferred Bible app. Again, many are already listed - if your favorite is not shown, you can ask the developer.

Excellent - Includes all the essentials plus many customizable features, yet manages to avoid bells and whistles that could be distractions. Opening the app puts you right on your reading plan, so you can focus on getting right into what the app is for!
