MzZellle,
Effortless chic photo books at a reasonable price
I’m an artist, so I’m quite picky about things like this. We wanted a service to have photos printed of our baby as she grows. Tried a few options and this one wins for ease of use and classy outcome.

I would prefer *slightly* sharper and brighter print quality. This lack of sharpness and brightness may be due to the paper used, which has a soft texture and off-white color. After making some books with Blurb on their higher end Mohawk photo-paper Recently books feel like I took a (very, very tiny) step toward printing on newsprint. The photos still look good - it’s just a different vibe, casual-chic instead of ultra crisp.

It’s also SO much easier, I actually do it. Here’s the thing, when I have the option to painstakingly design every page - I just can’t stop myself! I usually love the outcome, but it’s not worth it! I want to print photos more than once every 3 years. With Recently you just select photos, rearrange ORDER if needed, pick a cover and BAM. The layouts look great and the whole thing is WAY classier than other “auto-format” options which.. do not do photos ANY justice at all.

(Tip: get your photos narrowed down and write your intro before going through the app, because it doesn’t save a draft for you)

I also LOVE that I can have these little book-zines sent directly to various addresses and that people can order their own without going through me!

Thank you for making these! Never stop!

Beautiful books that are easy to make
We started using Recently a few years ago when I realized that I wanted our photos to live outside of my phone, but with busy twins and an active family, didn’t have time to print them out and scrapbook them.

Enter Recently. It’s so easy! I get to choose the photos, decide how many to include (it’s always 150 these days 😂) and pick color, covers, and now a little intro blurb. I can even send them to other members of the family easily. Hit “publish” and boom: high-quality photos on beautiful paper, printed, bound, and shipped.

Now that our twins are in elementary school, they love going back and looking at the magazines from when they were babies. We’re building a whole library of photo books, and I can only imagine how valuable it will be in twenty years to have these beautiful memories to page through.

Are You Sure You Want to Do This?
I thought this app was a great idea and elected to take out a monthly subscription. After a few months I realized I didnt take enough pictures to justify the expense so I canceled my subscription. At least I thought my subscription was canceled. I was shocked to see that I was still being billed the monthly charge months after I canceled. I then tried to access my account to verify that the account was canceled but the app would no longer accept my password. So I reset my password and went to my account and clicked cancel my subscription, I got another message that said "Oops! Something went wrong". So I logged out and tried to access my account with the new password I just entered and again it wouldn't accept the new password. I went through the same process again with the same result. I then tried to contact the app support. There is no telephone number for the developer and the message I sent them detailing the problem I was having has been unanswered.
So, are you sure you want this app because once you sign up it appears that they won't let you cancel.
Buckits,
Get Recently
We became parents in early January and have used Recently as an alternative to the baby month sticker pictures. Instead of one silly picture with the sticker, we've used this awesome print service to create a magazine (featuring our son) every month. The magazine prints beautiful 50 full page or 100 half page photos on heavy paper and that gives several (somewhat limited) photo options (no cropping or resize options in the app). Although it is not a terribly intuitive app- you can easily organize your photos into a folder on your phone and upload that folder to be published. It is a fantastic option for people that never print photos from their phone to easily get them printed into a high quality magazine that will look beautiful on coffee tables or book shelves (even the spine can be personalized).
Cheshire Gal,
Get Recently is the best Photo Magazine ever!
I’ve been making these magazines/books for over two years. It’s an ingenious, fast, clear way to chronicle events with friends and family from each busy month. Whatever happens in a particular month across the world that interests me, I include by editing screen shots from social media. Friends are always surprised and pleased to find their images in this clever chronicle. I love that I can choose the amount of photos yet the book stays the same size with the photo sizes varying. If you have a question, the response time from the Get Recently group is incredibly fast. I also use to create as a gift for friends from weddings or other special occasions. Five Stars plus for my favorite app ever!!!
Yogajencole,
Worst customer service, EVER!
This company speaks with condescending tones and acts as though all billing issues are because of the customer. The books take hours to create because errors occur at least 20 times during the photo upload process. Because of this, I tried to cancel. They stated my subscription was cancelled yet continued to charge my credit card monthly. I then tried to get a refund and was denied. I changed my credit card number and had to open a complaint through capital one against them. Fast forward 8 months and they again charged my card through iTunes and then refused to honor or refund the amounts they have charged for all previous months. This company is a horrible to deal with yet I can't seem to get rid of them without cancelling iTunes all together. We all know, that is not possible! Now, all I can do is fight to get books published so I at least get my money back through a product. I just attempted to do so and was CHARGED an additional $8.99. I'm at a loss as to how to get refunds at this point.
DCLiddick,
All around cheers!!
Even in our world of technology, there is something special about actually holding a picture. These books provide a lovely way to organize and highlight your favorites! The books feel very quality and the app is simple to use once you get the hang of it.

It’s always a fun day when one comes in the mail! I do the quarterly subscription, which works perfectly for me because I wouldn’t have enough print-worthy pictures at this point to make it worth monthly. Maybe once I have kids, I’ll up to monthly :)

Overall excellent! Quality, nice printing at a reasonable price in a form that’s easy to store and show others. Keep up the good work!
Stephie_Pie,
Issues from the start.
I really wanted to love this app. I signed up for a subscription, then went on to select photos for my magazine. When it came time to upload photos or preview the magazine, the app continued to load and eventually close on its on. I saw that many other reviewers had the same issue. I looked up FAQs on their site and made sure to go through all troubleshooting steps. I have only used the app at home with a steady wifi connection where I run a full business without internet issues. I Opened/closed the app. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app, etc. Still no luck. They have already charged my card even though I have not successfully created a magazine which is also frustrating. Now I have to message them and ask for my money back because I cannot continue trying to use this app unsuccessfully.

Love this app and the customer service!
I downloaded this app when my daughter was born to actually do something with all the pictures I was taking of her. I published a magazine for each month her first year! I love the magazines! They are super cute to have out on a coffee table and they are so fun for family and friends to flip through! I made a mistake on one of my magazines and the company sent me a new one with the correct edits for free! They are a small business but they were diligent in replying to my emails! Definitely recommend this app if you are looking to actually do something with all the wonderful photos you take on your phone!
Dsmith34,
Great way to get photos off your phone
I like this app because it’s simple and easy to use and the photo books are great but you have absolutely no choice on which photos get a full page spread and which photos are teeny tiny (this is the case when you choose 75 or more photos). You so get to choose the photo that goes on the cover of the book and and a title. I recommend only doing 50 photos per book, then all the photos are a larger size. I have made over 15 of these books and I give them as gifts and keep many for myself, so much better than photo albums and the quality is great!
