Description
Do you have eight minutes a day? This meditation app is designed to help strengthen your relationship with your Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and bring increased peace, promptings, and a renewed perspective to the busy lives of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or anyone who is seeking closeness with God.
This app was created to enable you to “be still… and refill” for a few minutes during your day. The hope is for you to feel refreshed and refocused in a short amount of time as you listen to meditation segments. These segments cover multiple gospel topics based on the teachings of prophets and scripture while incorporating pondering and relaxed breathing. There are over 130 meditation segments and more on the way! Many other meditation apps take you through topics or segments that may not meet your spiritual needs. The power of this app comes from listening to meditation moments on a doctrinal topic you select based on how you are feeling, what you need, or what you are experiencing at any given moment.
The meditation segments range from 7 to 12 minutes. Some of the meditation topics include: Adversity, Be Still, Faith, Pain, Peace, Prayer, Jesus Christ’s Atonement, Covenants, Daily Discipleship, Fear, Forgiving Others, Gratitude, Hope, Joy, Individual Worth, Loneliness, Obedience, Perfection, Personal Revelation, The Living Christ, and Waiting on the Lord. At the end of each segment, there will be a mantra you will repeat in your mind during a minute of silence. The world is filled with fear and negativity. The mantra can be repeated in your mind throughout the day to help you re-center and bring your thoughts back to a positive and faith-filled place. References, talks, quotes, and scriptures used are listed with each meditation.
President David O. McKay taught, “We pay too little attention to the value of meditation, a principle of devotion. In our worship, there are two elements: One is spiritual communion arising from our own meditation; the other, instruction from others, particularly from those who have authority to guide and instruct us. Of the two, the more profitable introspectively is meditation. Meditation is the language of the soul. It is defined as ‘a form of private devotion, or spiritual exercise, consisting in deep, continued reflection on some religious theme.’ Meditation is a form of prayer…” (Teachings: David O. McKay - Chapter 4)
Refill My Soul combines “spiritual communion” on a religious theme with teachings from prophets and apostles — a powerful combination! Joshua 1:8 says, “…but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
