Good start.... needs a couple more features
The concept is a good one.. I have been a Serato user since Scratch Live and recently picked up the XP2 which by chance had a free version of Rekordbox 6 with it. Currently testing out the creative package and so far I like it.
The mobile app needs work though. Bluetooth play is a must. As an Apple user I have iCloud so this really need to be added for me to seriously use it, makes no sense to start another subscription just for this. Landscape view would also be good to see more of the waveform.
Most of all it would be perfect if I could purchase a track in Traxsource for example, download it to my phone, add it to my Rekordbox collection and edit. That way I can listen and buy music on the go and edit ready for when I get to the decks. If this is possible I would love to know about it but I haven’t been able to do it yet even with dropping the track into an artist folder inside the Rekordbox library. PLEASE add this feature!

My iPhone is now a cloud-synced flashdrive
I’ve installed this on my old iPhone 6 so that it’s on a device I don’t need for calls. You now need to have the right adapters and connect to the back USB TYPE B on a CDJ or into the PRO DJ LINK hub via ethernet. I bought the adapters that allow for this and also connecting power to charge at the same time. This new way of connecting is more cumbersome but allows for new features. Mainly now when connected to CDJs, you can also browse for music on the phone rather than just the CDJ. Why is this cool? Because it’s cloud connected. Now any data I add to tracks while playing on CDJs automatically syncs back to my collection. If I add new music to my collection on one computer, it is now automatically available in the app via cloud. So basically this old iPhone 6 is now a SSD drive that is cloud synced. Not to mention how great the design is. You can do everything on your tracks with your thumb. It’s now my preferred way to prepare tracks. AMAZING. The people giving bad reviews, just don’t get it and aren’t understanding the big picture of what this is.

This is such a refreshing way to manage my music! I love that I can add memory cues and hot cues with a single tap without stopping playback (please add this feature to the desktop app!) and the built in dual decks for testing mixes is so great. I do wish that you didn't have to link playback state to access to EQ cuts, but that's a minor quibble. I really hope that there is an iPad layout in the works as it really seems like an ideal format for this workflow...and just scaling up the UI isn't helpful. One issue I run into often is the waveform overview doesn't render for tracks loaded in the deck. This is a pretty critical piece of data to effectively work on such a small screen and I have to come back to that track later when it happens...our a relaunch sometimes fixes it. This is the only reason for me to remove one star.

i wouldnt update yet
so theres a landscape mode now, which is actually amazing, you can actually adjust faders and eq etc, but its unreliable — twice now I’ve gotten stuck unable to get back into the landscape mode so i cant bring in the next track (that fader is down in that UI)
unfortunately, if you dont pay for this broken mode, any time your phone changes orientation the music will pause… so until they fix locking you out of the paid mode, stick with the older version. once they fix it, I personally do think its worth the money, and I’m glad they’re still improving the app

Ignore the negative reviews deducting stars for not having every feature they want. The app is really well done and very useful. You don’t need a CDJ or dropbox if you don’t have them, it syncs directly with the desktop app perfectly for those of us with the less expensive controllers requiring laptops. Sync was flawless, in a very short time I had my library on the phone, which I used to listen to tracks and set cue points, and later synced back to the computer. So you can work on your next set while traveling or wherever. It even has two decks and a crossfader so you can mix tracks to see how they’ll work together. Honestly this app is so well done I can see them developing it in to the full DJ app for the new M1 chips just released. Can’t wait for that to eventually happen.

Love rekordbox mobile. More than rekordbox 6..
Whenever I get new tracks I immediately sync them to rekordbox, sit back on my couch at night, do all my prep work on rekordbox mobile, and everything automatically syncs back to rekordbox 6.
I like the feel and flow of rekordbox mobile more than rekordbox 6. I’m guessing the mobile version is written in Objective-C or Swift as it just feels smooth to use. With rekordbox 6, perhaps because it’s a Java app, I feel it lacks the native macOS look, feel, and smoothness the mobile version has.
Integration of rekordbox mobile with CDJs is great. For me this app is exactly what makes Pioneer DJ the best value for DJs who really want to maximize their music for the art of DJ performances.

As a rekordbox veteran I have paid for the creative plan along with the cloud connectivity since announced. I’ve purchased everything including the rekordbox DMX lighting kit and any and all accessories. Pioneer why would you release a stripped down version of what we already had to gain $6 more a month? Like most my desktop program freezes now with auto location of files or won’t skip to the next one like before and the mobile app still kicks unchecks my cloud sync weekly. Now to add to my frustration I now have a app which doesn’t allow me to change fx, have more than 1 fx choice and a host of many other features.
Congratulations on ruining the customer experience for your core fans.

Pioneer needs to dump WeGo and Rekordbox Mobile and just make a single app that uses the same library and has the same features as the desktop Rekordbox. Look at the competition, the other players in this space have done it.
Even without full performance features, I love the idea of being able to do library prep work on the go. But it needs to support all the same sources as desktop- including Tidal and Beatport Link.
The idea that this bare bones app uses up one of your license activation slots is crazy. No one is using this in place of the full app, only as a companion, so it makes no sense to me it should use up a license like one. That’s like charging a license fee for each individual controller, player and mixer in your setup!

Worth it
As I’m sitting on the beach rn and people think it’s a recorded mix. This is great I’m an amateur and hobbyist and people are asking me who’s this. Granted the music is all good helps but it’s got a vibe. I’m better on this app than my XDJ-XZ so I have to get back on that thing. I don’t use headphones to play so that can be an issue for some. This app is fun and great for understanding basic to advanced techniques. Totally worth it all my music is loaded up in playlists so it’s easy to keep a groove. I’m pleased with just the basics so anything more is a bonus.

Good bare bones feature set, glaring drawbacks
Syncing your library (space on phone permitting) and doing track prep on the go is easy to do and works well. The issues start with Pioneers ecosystem.
I have an iPhone so I automatically have iCloud and this app NEEDS to work with iCloud. Why force me into yet another subscription with Dropbox?
You wouldn’t even need the sync over wireless feature because Rekordbox could sync with iCloud that syncs with your iPhone library.
Library and track prep needs to work with streaming services as well (Beatport etc)
These phones and iPads can power a NASA rocket. Why can’t we have a mobile version of Rekordbox that can act as the library for controllers like the DDJ-1000? The iPad version would make perfect sense.
People in other reviews say these requests are over the top, but understand this is an old app and development has slowed down to a crawl. There hasn’t been any real new features in ages. It’s time.
