Absolutely love it
It’s pretty awesome to use and I am able to use it from my iPad as well which has allowed me to control my pc with it from a distance. This makes it so worth the annual price.

The BEST VLC Remote
I've used this app on other platforms for months and it does everything I need it to with a modern UI and nice premium features that don't take away from the core functions. Setup is very in depth and simple to understand. I was so happy to find this app after digging through old VLC remote apps I had paid for that broke or free versions of others that stopped being updated and didn't work anymore or had a horribly ugly UI. This is THE app for controlling VLC from an iOS device.
Note: if the app crashes after installing and trying to setup the first time just reboot your phone. I had a small issue with that at the very beginning but i rebooted and the app worked perfectly.

Scummy business practices
I had this app, and bought the premium features, and it was a decent, perfectly serviceable app. Then the developer added incredibly intrusive advertising in an update, with an additional in-app purchase required to disable them. Seriously, just imagine: it's a remote control, and periodically you will completely lose its functionality because it gets hijacked by a full-screen ad that has sound on by default. Is there ever a situation in which you'd be using a remote control app and suddenly having a loud, stupid ad play *wouldn't* be hella annoying? And does anyone really think it's okay to completely break an app for paying customers with this sort of nonsense?
Yeah, I guess I could pay the additional $2 to get rid of ads, but you know what? I'd rather give that money to a developer who hadn't already proven themself to be a swindler. Hobbyist Software has one that looks good.

It's a literal pay to play.
Set up was well explained and easy. Once set up was complete I went to test it out and hit play. That’s when I discovered that you can’t test it. You have to buy to play even a single song. If the app has zero functionality without purchase then just ask me to purchase it upfront. Don’t make me waste my time getting it set up. Enable a 24 hour trial to explore the feature set up before purchase. I don’t expect people to give useful stuff away for free but it’s customary for software to have a trial and test period. Coming at me shady like that does not inspire confidence and I’m not buying it without being able to check the functionality. I don’t even know if it will play a song yet.

Great app
I bought the ad free version of this only and it worked great for a few months. It then got updated and had ads. I was extremely upset about it and contacted the developer. They quickly responded by saying to reinstall the app and then go to the “purchase page” in the app and select “restore” and it worked. No more ads! I’m very happy now as this was my favorite VLC remote. Thank you!!

No longer working
On my new computers, one which is a Lenovo the other which is an M1 Mac I cannot remain connected. Sometime I’ll connect but shortly get the message couldn’t find VLC. VMR connect is running on both computers but the app doesn’t function like it used to, which is a shame because it was definitely a great app when it worked.

App freeze when press pause or stop button
With the recent updates, the app started to freeze after press pause or stop button. In order to get this app function again, i have to remove it from the app switcher. It getting annoy in someways. Hope the future version will fix this bug.

Best one out there. All of the others are so ridiculous that whoever attempted to get it correct should be whipped like black slaves used to. The others that attempted this very very feat got it so wrong i don’t even see how it was oked to be released. Fn stupid.
