In extensive testing 2.8 running on real [newer] hardware was simply found to be too fast for EV3, this version has been deliberately slowed down.
A few other minor bugs in peer mode with the data being send thru were also corrected.

Motion controller has been reviewed again and made easier to use with new limit to help manage its output in settings
Setting have also been added for a new ping functionality to turn it on/off
A new screen/functionality peer mode allowing you to connect multiple iDevices to the same robot

All screens beyond the splash screen have now a clear indication of where you are.
Fixed a bug that lost customisation of the digital screen if you move away and back in the same session.
Added a ping protocol for detecting and reporting network congestion, added app setting to manage.
Changed motion view to give you a chance to make sure you're holding the device flat before activating it.
Fixed an issue with accessibilities that stopped it working correctly with larger text sizes.
Changed digital screen to be more adaptable to different font sizes, accessibility.
Sorted inconsistency with naming scheme ports vs buttons with reporting/programming.
Introduced show/hide to ports customisation to be consistent with buttons.
