Mrjombi,
Great reproduction of a fun game
I’m cautious paying for an app as there is no refund if unsatisfied. But this was a game I enjoy at home and the graphics looked good so I took a chance. It’s a nice reproduction of the dice game. I like the look of the dice and the option to purchase others, but the ones that come with it are fine. Don’t have any complaints with the AI players yet, as I can beat enough of them with good rolls.
My two issues would be these. Although I like the roll sounds the whoosh sound gets annoying quickly. Of course I could turn the sound off but that does away with all sound. I turned off the goofy old times music very quickly.
Secondly the more important problem is the Take Back option which as far as I can tell has no setting to remove. This is not a standard part of the physical game so I don’t know why its included by default here. It’s supposed to be an alternative way to play and my friends and I don’t use it ever. My suggestion is a toggle on any update to use or not use take back in a game.
vundersloop,
Online multiplayer very frustrating
We had numerous issues with the online multiplayer for the game. The first time 4 of us tried to play we ended up creating more than one game. You can't delete the games and they all look the same so its hard to get everyone to join the same one. Had to wait about a week before the games dropped off.

We then were careful and created only a single game. Even that is a bit confusing as each player really only joins the game as it becomes their turn. So, if you are player 4, you don't see what players 1-3 did until your first turn. Then, we had lots of problems with the game reporting it was out of sync, crashing, or just losing sync. When you have such issues, you have to rejoin the game and wait for it to replay any recent moves before you can resume your turn, even if you already saw all those moves before. Sometimes that happens in the middle of your turn and you might lose a good roll you had and have to re-roll. Frequently had to tell someone it was their turn so they would know they had to exit out and rejoin.

Haven't played against bots so can't comment on that. In general, the game looks good and we are a big fan of the real game, but the multiplayer online is just too frustrating to play. With covid-19 social distancing, 4 of us purchased it hoping to still be able to play, so very disappointing.
Panjo!,
Great Game, not intuitive to navigate
I love the game, its a fun way to pass the time and I look forward to playing with friends via the cloud.

The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that I find it difficult to navigate. It took me awhile to figure out how to play with an AI (tap twice in the color die) because the tiny icon for the robot is hard to tell apart from the person icon. Also, I can't figure out how to go between games. When I'm playing against a real person on the cloud and am done taking my turn I would like to go back to the main menu to play an AI while I wait. My workaround is to close the app and reopen it.

There is no rule book that I can find other than the tutorial. I know it's a simple game but it would be helpful to have instructions available for these logistical things.
cranesnake,
Great game from an *amazing* company
When I first downloaded the game, the friend connecting portion of game setup was not working. Like most people would do in that situation, I left a one-star review and shot off an e-mail telling the company exactly what I thought of them.

Imagine my surprise when someone from the company got back to me within ten minutes — at 8 o’clock at night. With a genuine desire to see the problem fixed *that night*.

Imagine my even greater surprise when my problem with the game was actually fixed *that night*.

I haven’t seen customer service like this from an app developer...pretty much ever. And honestly, it’s a great app version of my favorite board game of all time. I wanted to be able to give it a 5 star review when I first downloaded the game. So glad I finally get to. :-)
cerebus300,
Fun but need to remove shaking feature
The game is fun and easy to learn. Navigation controls aren’t very intuitive despite their simplicity. Several times I ruined a game as I didn’t know what a button did. I dropped two stars because the phone version requires you to shake your phone to roll the dice. Wow! What an annoying feature. What about just letting me touch the screen. I found this requirement so annoying and awkward that I deleted the game. I just won’t play it. I’m sitting in a waiting room and it looks and feels stupid that I’m shaking my phone every twenty seconds. Good thing their iPad version allows you to just tap the screen. So, that is where I will play this game. Not this version. Would be five stars because f they just removed this.
Imhotep VII,
Random is not so random
The computer inexplicably pulls off near magical moves while the player has a hard time making easy points. Also if the player starts a card, the computer will eventually start and complete that card nearly every time. I truly believe the developer believes this to be a fair game; it is not. No amount of math supports that position. I played the game about a month before deciding to write a review. After more 3 player games (one human and two bots) than I care to count, I have won possibly three times. If you get close to winning the computer will come from no where and win almost every single time.
Pooky254,
Fun game, but statistically inaccurate
This is a fun game with great graphics and smooth animations. Unfortunately I think more emphasis was put in the graphics than the entropy necessary to truly randomize the dice rolls. As many others have mentioned, you ca man commit to a 6-dice card and spend the rest of the game trying to roll the necessary dice, and the AI will suddenly swipe the card from you in 1-2 rolls. That’s not to say that can’t happen if playing this came with physical dice and cards. But not likely with the frequency it happens in this game.
If the developers would just replace what they have with some better randomization of the dice, this would be a fantastic game.
no nicknames please,
The software needs an update
I really enjoy this game. It’s well made and fun to play BUT! I had a card with 6 3s I was trying to win. I very quickly got 5 of the 6 while the AI only had 2. I rolled at least 15 times and never came up with a 3. The AI was able to win other cards and STILL roll enough 3s to beat me. Can I tell you how frustrating that is. It kind of feels like the game is rigged. For that reason, I prefer the cards with a variety of dice on it to win the challenge but it seems that a majority of the deck are cards with a single number on it. I know the challenge is to get 6 of one number but that’s not always fun.
Hand2016,
5 year old loves it
5 year old loves to play this with me. We play against the 'bad' guys (computer). He likes it when the Troll AI laughs at us. He giggles every time.
There is a small bug though. If you recall your dice and roll before they are all off the screen, you lose those dice on that roll. This is pretty minor though you just need to wait for the animation to finish. I just need to get that 5 year old to learn to wait. :)
RIC3CUB3,
Still think it’s rigged
The dev says the AI rolls are the same as human rolls but just bad luck on the users’ end. While that may be true there are enough complaints about the AI that the dev should look into it. I too have rolled close to a dozen times or more without hitting what I need to point. Yet, the AI rolls and places two, three, four dice at a time. The score is almost always something ridiculous, too, like 43, 25, 30, and 4 (me). This happens too often for it to be simply “bad luck” or coincidence. The only thing “clever” about the AI and the way it plays is that it won’t let the human player win. And to those claiming “deeper strategy” this game isn’t rocket science. Strategy can’t account for the entirety of the large difference in score totals. Bottom line: needs some adjustments.

After sitting with 5 dice on one card for 8+ rolls AI comes in and catches ALL 6 DICE in 4 rolls. It’s not a matter of dumbing down the AI. Stop being stubborn and just freaking make the game more fair!!!
