Roomaters is a platform that connects roommate-seekers based on their lifestyle similarities and personality compatibility. We provide the tools for users to make educated decisions about their future roomies and build better living relationships.
Combining data-based matching technology with an interactive personality test developed by a relationship psychologist, Roomaters makes it simple to identify the right roommates for you before ever signing a lease.

-Upon sign up, choose if you already have a place or if you’re looking for one. You’re welcome to connect with users who need to fill their open rooms OR with others who may be looking to start a lease somewhere new.
-In addition to finding roommates, our app is a great resource to search the coolest local apartments in your area. Learn about their amenities, location, photos, and submit a message for a showing appointment through the app. You can even view other potential roommates that have the same taste in apartments!
-Unsure of where you want to move? Select multiple cities of interest and view potential roommates from each at the same time. With the Roomaters app launch we are opening up our service nationwide! Just bear with us as our userbase grows in your area.

Good app, but….
I like this app. You can read the person’s bio to get a good idea of who they are, their preferences, etc.
It’s a handy app, but it keeps sending me notifications saying, “it looks like you haven’t been active lately - let us know if you want to deactivate your account.” I always clicked on the notification, but now the notification says, “your account is about to be deleted soon.”

Huge help in new city
I recently moved to a new city and did not know anyone. I’ve tried many other apps and websites to try to meet people, especially someone I could trust and potentially room with, due to the very high rent in the city. Other apps showed me people looking for a roommate, without any information about that person. I thought that was a little sketchy, especially because I would be living with this person. Roomaters is the first app I’ve seen that takes in to account a users personality. The personality test on this app is super helpful and led me to find my current roommate, who is also new to the city. We get along great and even formed a quarantine crew with our neighbors. Although we ended up finding an apartment to stay in without the help of Roomaters’, their apartment search feature is very cool and helped us understand the area better. Will definitely recommend to anyone moving to a new city.

Finally a true differentiator to find a roommate!!
Roomaters has nailed it! First of all not only can I find a roommate but we can find our next apartment as well. All in one! My favorite part is their personality test created by a psychologist to help you narrow down the roommate pool and increase your odds of a successful pairing! This is genius and will help alleviate some of the unknowns before move in. Their UI makes it very easy to toggle between people and see what peoples budgets are and their hobbies, etc. Funny thing is now I have a better understanding of what personalities I vibe with on a day to day basis at work as well!

Great and easy app to use!
this app is perfect if you’re new to an area and don’t really know anyone. it helps you find a roommate you’re compatible with and you can chat on the app and get to know the person before meeting them which makes me feel a lot more comfortable. It also shows you a list of popular local listings!

It can be hard to take a leap into a new city... especially with no friends or family that get you... to know that a team of people care that much to create an app to help you find a compatible Roomate or jump to a city or apartment search with friends or apartment shop with your new friend or current friends is dope. Keep going.

I’ve downloaded just about every roommate app, and this is the best one by far! Not glitchy like the others and a very unique matching system

Upon signing up, believe only a few people are willing to answer the numerous questions. Had issue with quality of “matches” as well?
Found no way to delete my info from app nor quit using it, so sent request to do so.

Found the response ageist & insulting. May be true, but calling anyone too old, too dark (or any another protected demographic) is blatantly insulting & inflammatory.
SO if anyone is 36 or older, according to our email exchange; maybe this isn’t the right application for you. Feeling insulted:(

Scammers!
I was excited to find this app. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of scammers in this app. They all ask for some form of payment before even getting to view the place in person. I had one lady even ask for a picture of my ID (front and back) and my social security number before she would even consider letting me view the place in person.

Roommaters deleted my entire account.
This app seemed really great. I did my profile set everything up just for it to tell me that there wasn’t enough people in the area I’m looking (Austin, Tx). It told me to give it a few days and people will reach out. 2 people did but I didn’t think i would vibe with them so I didn’t respond. Since I didn’t respond the app deleted my entire account.

Amazing roommate finder. The algorithm really works extremely well! I highly recommend the app to anyone looking for a roommate for their existing place or better yet need to find a place and a new roommate at the same time!
