Royal Game of Ur (AG) Hack 2.3.7 + Redeem Codes

I’m usually not one to post reviews, but for this wonderful game I’m happy to make an exception! As someone with a background in Classical Antiquity, it’s marvelous to see a game developer bring to life ancient board games in such a fun, vibrant, and thoughtful way! The Royal Game of Ur is as addictive and entertaining as I’m sure it was 3-4 millennia ago, and the sheer number of custom designed boards, dice, and pawns is quite impressive. The aesthetics, music, and sound effects of the game are extremely well done and the thought, creativity, and attention to detail that went into it are noticeable and very much appreciated!

The game is completely playable for free, but if you want to pay a couple dollars to disable ads and unlock some really neat boards/dice/pawns it’s well worth it. I was honestly happy to invest a few bucks, since it means the developer will be able to continue improving the game and work on the stable of other ancient board games he’s bringing to iOS/Android.

On top of that, when I was having trouble accessing my game account and had inadvertently locked myself out, the developer responded promptly to my email. He was friendly, polite, and helpful, and quickly resolved my login issue. He even threw in a bunch of in game crates for free, which was nice of him to do! I greatly enjoyed talking with him and I look forward to trying my hand at Senet and XII Scripta!

I absolutely love Senet and find it extremely cool that someone created this app and allows you to play with people all over the world - amazing!! It’s very challenging and the star system adds an extra layer of competition and tension. There is one thing however that frustrates me. Twice now I have been matched with a player who hasn’t played their turn in a timely way - the first person took up to one full minute to play each turn (so annoying) and the second person just seemed to have disappeared (phone died maybe? Who knows). In general, this is no biggie because there is an “abandon” button that allows you to star fresh with someone else - but you lose a star every time that happens!!! Is there any way the developers could look into not penalizing someone for being forced to wait someone else out? I prefer to play with people that are present and ready, and most of them are, but I think there should be an option to forfeit without penalty if the other player is clearly the problem. Perhaps timing each turn makes sense? I dunno but that’s the only gripe I have. The rest of it is a blast. Thanks!

I am really impressed with this app. There are a couple of other versions out there, but this one gets it just right. The AI is programmed at just the right level so you don't feel like it's cheating as it progresses. It also has beautiful design, great music, and a real “historical” feel to it. I can imagine I'm in an ancient Sumerian bazaar playing this for money. I can tell this is a labor of love from the developer (who responds quickly to any questions, requests, bugs you may encounter). The way it's set up it meant for great online and local play, so I hope lots of people take this up. I downloaded it hoping just to play with my family at the kitchen table, but the online play is really fun and I hope its userbase grows. The shop's open and ready for customers (figuratively speaking). Spread the word about this!

Recently discovered UR and was happy to come across this app to finally give it a shot before getting the real thing! I’ve played almost a dozen games with few sessions and have faced AI and done a few local games, and I have faced absolutely no bugs! (Nice work, whoever did the engineering!)

However, the UI/UX could use a significant facelift. While the appearance of buttons and assets is fine, layouts feels a little sloppy overall. There needs to be more consistency and breathing room/negative space. I’ve seen a few lines of text too close to edges. The screen with daily quests/seasons/the pay button isn’t laid out nicely compared to other screens, but this should be the nicest one. I play this primarily on iPad, but I’ve played a couple on my iPhone and the UI on it is just a shrunken down version of the tablet version with THICK boarders around it which, while it can save a lot of art/engineering time, it’s a lazy solution. Text and other elements are too tiny, and did I mention that border? So much space to work with to scale up text and buttons! But my sight is still good so this is forgivable on my end, but I can imagine it may turn some people away.

Regardless, I’m still enjoying the game, and honestly the main reason I wrote this was to unlock that sweet UR board! Awesome work on those.

I’m a historicist, pure and simple...and this is the best looking (and playing) version of this ancient game yet: some one has done their homework and had enough desire, artistic talent, and skill to bring it all together. Thanks! But then there’s all the REST of it...campaigns, loot boxes, and various other bits and pieces not directly related to the game and clearly there to broaden the appeal to a wider swath of gamer-dom. I can certainly understand the motivation...but, frankly, I’d pay just to be able to get the board I preferred and not have to deal with the rest. FWIW. One minor quibble: the pause before throwing the dice seems too long, and is not adjustable (like the speed at which the pieces move).

I love this exciting game which already makes it a win and fun to play on an iPhone. The developer can’t take credit for that. However, thoughtful elements such as the game atmosphere, customizations, online multiplayer, a CAMPAIGN, and so much more are all products of this dev’s dedicated mind and add up to a great app experience. I’m grateful that they chose not to take the easy approach of creating a bare-bones, ugly version of the Royal Game of Ur but instead chose to do something much more difficult: make it super cool.

I really like the app. I love that they designed the dice to be random like dice really would be. Makes it very fun and balanced. It’d be great if the ai had a difficulty setting. Right now the ai only focuses on the lead tokens unless forced to and it makes it a little too easy to win.

My only ‘criticism’ is that the exp system is never consistently rewarded. When I play a random player and by chance win, the game says I won 150 exp but I never see it actually go through in the game’s leveling system.

Otherwise i am having a lot of fun playing the game and highly recommend it!

I wrote a review a few months ago, but I feel I have to update it.
Back then I was immediately impressed with the game. The game play was perfect, and I enjoyed having online adversaries with out chat.
I have played the game everyday since then. I got caught up in making progress through the seasons and collecting all game boards and pieces.
I also wanted to earn the impressive titles and avatars just for fun.
The art work in this game is so good, I’ve never seen any this good.
There are 153 boards you can unlock, and they are all beautiful.
But what really blew me away was how responsive Sullivan was with all my question and problems. He corrected some of my stats that had some how got messed up. He was a pleasure to talk to.
I am committed to getting all the rewards and finishing the game.

I absolutely love the game of backgammon, and I tracked down the Game of Ur from research into its predecessors. I didn’t expect much from an app of such an ancient game, but this one blows away all of the backgammon apps I’ve tried. I now play this game way more. Luckily many backgammon strategies work well in Ur. I plan on making a roll-up travel version of this game and take it backpacking with me in the mountains.

Kudos to the developer for the time and care that went into this excellent reproduction.

I love this game! The graphics are clean and smooth. The pace is just right. The options are a nice touch. The difficulty level options are perfectly set. This game is worth paying for up front, even though you can download and play for free. The game’s creator deserves credit for all the hard work that has gone into making this a truly enjoyable and simple game! Perfect to play for relaxation after work.
