Luna Blair,
Has potential but bugs handicap it.
I’ve been using this app for the past couple of days and enjoying it. It’s easy to understand and much more intuitive than I expected. It’s a bit lacking in options, but as expected for something like this. What really hurting for me though is a particular bug. During combat whenever I attack the game crashes. The fight command is the only time this happens, but it happens every time. It happens on both my iPhone and iPad. It’s the only time I’ve encountered a crash like this though. I hope that this is something that can be fixed because otherwise, I think this app is really cool.
Aixivus,
Good Stable RPG Creator System
I’ve just picked this RPGC up after wanting to see if there were any new “Game Development Software” on the ios market, since I last looked about a year ago, and found this one to not only look decent from the developer’s media, but look like it had some fairly decent customization options to use. When I got into the software it took only a few minutes for me to figure out how to use the map editor properly; though there are still undo bugs with it. The Event Editor I’m still playing with, and I have read a lot of the comments, it seems like most “Event” commenters are placing far too many events into a map and the source script either is taking a while to process them all, or can’t and just crashes. (NOTE: With the 300 tile max for free edition, a possible 25x21 map size has 96 edge tiles, if you have all sides lined with “Move To” events that’s 92 events the game has to process BEFORE the player’s input. Divide that by the Logic Ticks per second the game runs on (probably 24) and you have lots of input lag on the controls. FIX: Limit Events to <20 for best results. Logic Ticks =\= FPS.)All things considered, this is the best ios Game Dev App I’ve ever tried, and anyone wanting to try and make a retro rpg should definitely take a look at.
Attention Devs!,
Fun, But Has Issues
It's a fun little tool. I bought the premium version, and I've had a blast putting my game together, even though I knew squat about programming. However, there are a few things that desperately need to be fixed:
The game crashes if you enter a battle while in the Confused state.
There needs to be a way to publish games on other platforms, such as being able to make it downloadable on the App Store, Steam, personal websites, etc. Many people, such as myself, have invested hours upon hours working in their games, so there needs to be a way to at least play a game without using the RPG Creator app.
Battle dialogue needs to be able to be edited. For some reason, when I enter a battle in my play tests, the word "of" often appears next to nouns. For example, the battle dialogue will say "Aliceof attacks!" or "Received 50 Goldof!". At the very least, the "of" issue needs to be fixed.
The app is great for aspiring creators, but it does have some glaring issues that can easy be fixed by the developers. I hope you see this, developers: people are forking over $8 for your app. It's important that you fix the issues they're pointing out.
Magius Fantasia,
IDK about others, but this is utterly broken for me.
I was very excited when I first found out that there was an RPG Maker on iPad. I downloaded it only to find out that if I wanted to use custom assets, I had to pay. --to which I had absolutely zero problem with. I paid for the features to use custom assets only to find out that the game was broken, and it took my money but still didn't let me upload my custom assets.

Contacted the Apple Store, luckily they refunded me the money. I uninstalled the software from my iPad since, but I'm surprised to see it still on here. Don't pay for any featues for this game. I think the developer left the platform a long time ago. Before I reached out to the Apple Store for support, I reached out to the creator first, and I never got a response from them.

If they are reading this, I seriously hope they come back to continue to fix and support the app becuase it has a lot of potential, and I was genuinely super excited to create so much stuff using this app. Unil then, sadly it's unusuable to me. I can't create or save anything, and I can't upload my artwork or music. It's just eye candy for me.
DanesoPeezy,
Bugs and Ads EDIT
Edit: looks like they've fixed the issues I was complaining about. The it works so much better now. I recommend this if people want to get their foot in the door for game development. Five stars.

This is pretty good considering the things you can do and its price. I wasn't expecting this to be as good as RPG Maker but still pretty good. But I have noticed a bug. When selecting an item for the character to receive in the event window, It shows the items as "state" instead of which item I want. I have to choose "Death" for receiving a potion and so on. Also I don't like that when I purchased the app there's still ads on the app. I gave one star just so the developers can notice these issues. Will gladly give five stars once these issues are fixed.
•Blu•,
Hard to learn and pay to make
I read the reviews on this before downloading the app and I assumed that it would be fun to use, so I downloaded it. I istantly read what premium gave you before I started building. It said that it let you upload maps, make custom items, ulimited map building and much much more. It made it seem like you had to give them 8 dollars if you wanted to make a game.. Then I just wanted to see what I could do, even with the limited resources I had, and I went to go build a game and then I istantly had no idea what to do. I think that they should add a tutorial because I have no idea what I was supposed to do... I really dislike this app and I 100% don’t recommend it.
ThatGuy3958285,
Dang
I was looking on steam to find a good game. I found this game called “RPG Maker” I looked at it to see what it was. “Wow, this looks pretty good!” ,I thought. Until I saw the price. “My God!” 90 dollars! Jeez man! I know you’ve done games like this and this for a long time, but wow. I felt sad. Till’ I found this. “Cool, that game but free!” But, I found out that this is a buggy mess. It crashes when I do basic things. I have a good phone with plenty of storage on it. So this, this professional-made game(I’ll give you that.) is a buggy mess. But I enjoyed it well I still could before it erased all my progress. Good job, but still, just uh, just work on a little bit okay, buddy?
ffffffffffffffffć,
Don’t buy until it’s updated!
The maker is amazing and very versatile but any time you attack in battle segment it instantly crashes to the Home Screen and I’m using this on a 2020 ipad pro so it’s not a issue with possessing power. If it was updated to fix this issue as well as the other ways to instantly crash the app that would me spectacular, but in its current state it’s unusable and is the only thing like it on the App Store.

I’ve already fallen I love with this app and paid for premium and I hope it’s given the love it needs form the devs.
Teobot57,
Was going to buy the premium, but...
I know this game hasn’t had support in over two years, but I’m so disappointed I am writing anyway. The other day I discovered your game, tested it out a bit and decided to buy to the full game. However, I’m not sure it was due to the new IOS update or not, but the next day I opened the game and to check on some things before I buy and the game kept crashing. Close a menu, crash. Select an animation, crash. It became unplayable, which is disappointing as I really wanted a mobile RPG maker. I doubt someone will even read this, but if you fix the crashes I’d definitely buy the premium. Thank you for your time.
Jkid1683,
Addressing the Crashes
So the software is really good considering it being a mobile game maker. As a frequent user of RPG Maker series l really like this app.

A lot of people, including myself have been experiencing crashes galore lately. This is not a bug or something else that is causing the crashes. The game has not been updated since March of 2017. This means that there is no compatibility with iOS 11+.

All they need to do is update the app to work with iOS 11. Until then the only way to not experience crashes is to use an older device that was unable to be updated to iOS 11. For example I'm using my iPad 2G.
