The SailGP app is your inside track to the world’s fastest on-water racing. During every sailing race you’ll get to see the action up close, as each of the F50 catamarans have multiple cameras on board for real time video streaming.
As well as getting a virtual on board experience, you’ll also enjoy birds-eye views of the whole race, augmented with key information such as where the finish line is, how fast each boat is travelling and how far they have left to go. PACKED WITH REAL TIME DATA
SailGP is a world-first sailing competition based around innovation and technology. Each boat is fitted with 1,200 data points, tracking every second of the race and syncing with your SailGP app in real time. As the teams battle it out to reach the finish line first, you’ll be able to customise the app, to view the data and stats that interest you the most. From Wind Speed and Velocity Made Good, to Time To Mark and Leg Number, just tap any stat in the app to learn more.
SWITCH BETWEEN DIFFERENT TEAMS
SailGP includes teams from Australia, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Spain and the United States and you can support your nation by following them through the race. Should you wish, you can switch teams mid-race, to compare how the other boats are getting on.
CHANGE VIEWS AND CAMERA ANGLES
Choose how you view the race by tailoring the stats that you see on your screen. Depending on what interests you the most, you can select one of two views. Default mode includes a larger video with less stats or you can opt for Advanced mode which makes the video smaller and shows you lots more data.
COMPARE BOATS RACING HEAD TO HEAD
Want to see how your team is doing against another? No problem! With the SailGP app you can compare two teams together at the same time. You’ll be able to monitor the data, speed and performance of both boats, side by side, all on one screen.
NO SPOILER MODE
As SailGP operates across multiple time zones, you have the option to turn off spoilers and hide all results until you have watched the race.

The Bermuda Grand Prix presented by Hamilton Princess will set the stage for an expanded season that is planned to feature nine events. Following the opener, the first-ever Italy Grand Prix will be held June 5-6 in Taranto. Depth of Information
This app is absolutely incredible and FREE. I can’t wrap my head around the amount of camera angles, in-race information, and explanations on various telemetry it provides for free. Very clean interface and it works quickly. Incredible incredible app. Probably one of the best apps I’ve ever seen.

1. In landscape mode, the app only allowed me the view from one boat. No other telemetry. No clue how to change the view as it was not responding to swipes. I deleted the app but decided to give it another try. The next time I tried to access a replay it came up in portrait mode with the rest of the telemetry available.
2. View from the boats is a mostly useless and very tight perspective from the front looking backwards. The view we want is from the back looking forward and a fairly broad angle of view to provide context.
3. Changing views by swipe is slow and enormously inconvenient. No choice of view, just keep swiping… and waiting for the windows to reset… until you get a particular view. And then stay with it because it’s such a pain the behind to get to the other one you want. Why not drop downs to select the view for each window?
4. The app tells me I can opt out of cookies and tracking but then provides me with no obvious way to do that.

Race replays: 1st day great, but where’s 2nd day?
I’m trying to catch up with the series before Cowes. The Sydney and San Francisco first day replays are great. However, I don’t see how to find the second days of racing for those cities.
