Use "Make a Tray" to build your meal for the items available that day and see the combined nutrient information. Give your feedback to the school cafeteria by rating items. Favorite specific items on the menu so that you can know when they'll be available in the cafeteria. Connect to your cafeteria account to always know your account balance and have access to your digital ID card.

• Accessibility: We’ve added full screen reader support throughout SchoolCafé.
• Eligibility - Apply: We've fixed an issue where the application acceptance date was showing as invalid in some cases.
• Eligibility - Apply: Now, all students entered on the “Students” step of a parent’s application will display in the “Household” and “Review” steps of the application as well. This will make it easier to make sure that all students are accounted for without duplicating them.
• Parent Dashboard: We’ve fixed an issue where using the ‘Shop Campus Store’ shortcut resulted in not getting a confirmation after submitting a payment.
• Payment Info - Validate Bank Account: We’ve added a ’Remove’ button to allow users to remove a bank account that has not yet been validated. Also, the word ’deposit’ has been corrected to say ’debit’ instead.
• Make a Payment: For security reasons, CVV may sometimes be required when attempting to make payments via a card.
• As always, several other enhancements, bug fixes, and overall quality-of-life improvements have been made. Thank you again for all your support! We wish you the best in the current trials we are facing nationwide. Please reach out to us through your Support page if you need any assistance.

School Menus – Several strong improvements have been made to this feature, including:

•Monthly View – Various usability improvements have been made to make it easier to view and print menus—including a new option, “List View”, which reduces the amount of content on the screen to a more compact size. Additionally, a slider has been added to adjust the size of the text on the screen so that even more content can be viewed/printed on fewer pages. Please note that in some cases, content may still not fit on one page.
•Daily View – Now, users can see which items are only served with other items. A blue icon with the label, ‘Served only with…’ will display next to the item, and when selected it will open a pop-up showing the other associated items. This means that the items can only be purchased together.
•Weekly View – We fixed an issue where *printed* menus were not correctly filtering out some allergens.
•Nutrition facts have now been rounded more appropriately to make them easier to read together. For example, ‘28.00g’ now just shows as ‘28g’, while 28.10g would still show as 28.10g.
•Menu Item details – Arrow buttons have been added to allow users to quickly move from one item to the next without having to close the pop-up.

Other Enhancements:

•Parent Dashboard – Now, when parents select the menus button for an individual student, the menus for that student will also show the menu items filtered out based on that student’s allergies. Please note that this information comes from the school district and may not always be up to date. Exercise caution and contact your district if anything seems incorrect.
•Apply – When certifying the applicant’s address, if their state does not match the state to which the district belongs, a warning will now display.
•Make Payments – All district payment guidelines have been updated to make them easier to follow.
•Register/My Profile – Now, a user’s security questions have been translated into their preferred language, or when the site language has been changed using the icon at the top-right corner of the screen.
•Bank Account Verification – For security purposes, all users who add a new bank account as a payment source must now verify ownership of that account before being able to make a payment with it.
•Dashboard - View Recent Transfers – Now, all mobile users will be able to see whether a transfer has been successful or has failed. Previously, this column was only visible on the desktop website or for some tablet users.
•System-Generated Emails – Some minor changes have been made to make the text easier to follow.
•As always, various usability and performance improvements have been made. Thanks for helping make SchoolCafé the #1 app for child nutrition!

• We’ve fixed an issue where users who have changed their school district were still seeing their old school district when logging back in.
• Now, Staff users (or Parents who have added themselves as Staff along with their children) will no longer see a grade displaying next to the staff patron(s) on the Dashboard.

• Now, you can view a history of recent SchoolCafé emails sent to your email address (such as Low Balance Alerts, student balance transfers, and password resets) right from your SchoolCafé account! How: In SchoolCafé, go to your Inbox in the top-right of the screen, and select the new Email Log tab. Note: users must have verified their email address in order to use this feature.
• Now, Student and Staff users have access to the Change My District functionality on their My Profile page, just like Parent users. (Same warnings apply)
• The ‘Show Nutrients’ toggle on the Monthly view of the School Menus page has now been added to the Weekly view as well.
• We fixed an issue on pages where data appearing in a table format could be exported. Before, the dates on the exported file were not being reset if the user changed dates without selecting the ‘apply’ button again. Now, the results are cleared whenever the date is changed by the user.

Highlights:
• Introducing Themes! Now, you can change between SchoolCafé’s Light Theme and Dark Theme by selecting the paint bucket button in the navigation menu at the top of every page. Perfect for when you need to make those late-night payments or check out tomorrow’s menu before going to bed!
• School Menus – Daily View: A new report, View Nutrition Info, has been added to the top of the menu item list for any day where menus have been published. Selecting this button allows you to quickly view all of the items being offered for the day, along with nutritional information.

Other Enhancements:
• Parent Dashboard: For those districts accepting online free-and-reduced meal applications through SchoolCafé, submitting an application for the current school year successfully turns the 'Apply for Benefits' button into a 'View Eligibility Info' button. Selecting this button takes you to the 'My Applications' tab of the 'Eligibility Info' page, allowing you to easily check on the status of your application or view/print your eligibility notifications.
• School Menus (All Views): Now, menu items on each page display in alphabetical order by category, and certain items are no longer displayed in a bold font.
• Password Strength: For your security, a stronger password may now be required when changing your password or creating a new account. A strength meter has been added in these locations to help make sure that your password is strong enough.

• Face ID and Touch ID are now supported: Now, you can easily login to SchoolCafé using your good looks, or magic touch!
• Your district's home is now furnished: Upon searching for your district from the SchoolCafé home screen, now you'll be able to see a list of all of the SchoolCafé features your district so lovingly offers you up front. Plus, you can now (conveniently!) sign into your account directly from this screen, rather than going back to the main SchoolCafé home screen.
• Benefits-Apply now has a built-in income calculator: For those of you whose districts receive mobile free-and-reduced meal applications through SchoolCafé, now you'll be able to save time filling out your application by letting us help calculate your monthly and annual household income for you.
• Purchase Restrictions: Now, when updating the purchase restrictions for an individual student, you can see the date and time of when those restrictions were last updated.
• School Menus: Now, when viewing menus as a guest, the grade filter automatically selects the appropriate grade by default, and updates itself when a new site is selected as well. We've also simplified the Make-a-Tray rules to make them sound more... relatable. Finally, we've fixed an issue where menu item images decided to just disappear whenever they felt like it.
• Various other bugs were stepped on-- we mean, gently placed on a tissue and tossed outside.

SchoolCafé got a makeover! While we’ve still got the same great features, we hope this cleaner, simpler look makes it even easier for you to manage your student or employee accounts. Read on to see what’s changed, and be sure to give us your feedback!

NEW:
* For districts receiving applications through SchoolCafé: You can now apply, view applications, and view letters directly in the app! (Finally!)
* District employees can now both view their school ID card *and* make payments toward their account! Register as a ‘Student or District Employee’ and connect your cafeteria account to get started, and you’ll then be able to add payment sources and make payments in addition to all of the features you enjoyed previously.
* 'Find My District' widget on the homepage takes you to a dedicated page for your district, allowing you to easily create a new account, contact your district for help and, in coming months, even more!
* You can now translate the whole app into a few languages (though currently this feature in beta). Please let us know if a particular translation is inaccurate!

NAVIGATION CHANGES:
* We’ve reduced the number of navigation options to make existing features easier to find! Now, all features are in one of three categories: Payments, Benefits, or Menus.
-For districts processing payments and/or purchases through SchoolCafé: Payment Sources and Payment History are now tabs in a single page: Payment Info. Purchase History is now accessed directly from the Dashboard per student, located in their Details drop-down.
-For districts receiving applications through SchoolCafé: My Applications and Eligibility Notifications are now tabs in a single page: Eligibility Info.
-For districts publishing menus through SchoolCafé: My Trays and Interact are now tabs in a single page: My Favorites.
* My Profile, Inbox, Notifications, and Logout have been moved to the top-right navigation. The full navigation has moved to the left side of the app.
* Parents can now view individual student details through the new ‘Details’ tab on a student card, in order to reduce the amount of scrolling needed on the screen.
* Removal of students or student photos can now be done, through the icon on the top-right of the student card.
* The ‘View Menus’ button has now been moved from the homepage to the My District page. Staff can either view menus using this button or through a staff account.

ALERTS:
* We've added information about when an automatic payment setting was last modified in order to make auto pay-related issues easier to troubleshoot.
* We’ve added information regarding when the low balance alert setting was last modified as well as when the last alert was sent, and even the balance of the student at the time of the alert.

MAKE PAYMENTS:
* The guidelines for making a payment were moved to a dedicated pop-up at the top of the screen to reduce the need for scrolling.
* Potential balance displays what a balance will look like for an individual student before the payment is complete, in order to help a user determine exactly how much is needed before submitting the payment.
* For districts offering non cafeteria-related payments through SchoolCafé: A 'Shop Campus Store' button has been added to the payment process to allow users to browse school-related items such as Yearbooks and other fees **if offered by the school online**.

SCHOOL MENUS
* Menu Item ratings are now done thumbs-up/thumbs-down-style!
* Make a Tray is now done per patron (student or employee) or grade in order to make tray requirements more accurate for different individuals on an account.

MISCELLANEOUS
* Several existing pages were given a new look and feel to increase visibility of specific features.

All These Years!,
All These Years!
I have 3 children that have now all made their way through their elementary, middle and high school years and School Cafe has been right with us “almost” through all 3 kids school years (I think it came out a few years into our oldest child’s schooling). Having School Cafe has been such a blessing in making sure all the kids had their “lunch money”! It has been a partner/much needed (and appreciated) part of all these years for sure! This platform/and the reminders of low funds (in conjunction with the app) has been so very helpful! Admittedly….I think one of my kids had insufficient funds only one time - but that was my fault for missing the “reminder”.. but school cafe never missed a thing (and yes- my daughter has never let me forget that day 😂 - and I never missed another school cafe reminder after that occurrence that’s for sure)!! As far as the small “online” fee - it is so worth it…as School Cafe keeps up with EVERYTHING! Thank you to everyone at School Cafe in helping us all these years!
Dollface_SB,
Fast, Easy & Secure
This app makes knowing your child will always have money on their account for breakfast or lunch a breeze, no more worry or hassle to ensure they are always fed, with the app feature to set low limit balance alerts at the dollar amount of your choice, with the selection of limiting which items they are allowed, allowed occasionally and are restricted from purchasing without you having to be there, you are also able to ensure healthy choices are being enforced even while not in your care, if you so choose to use these features it’s all an extra bonus to the ease of the app in adding funds to your child’s or children’s account lunch balances, snack balances and so forth, definitely worth downloading, no more sending your child with money to school for breakfast or lunch and no more wondering if they ate lunch or breakfast at all that day, with the app keeping record of where and what the money was spent on, water-drinks-food tray- chips- snacks, I love the app by far!
puppylover83,
Convenient for Parents
Very easy to use. I like the use of an App rather than having to go to a website or even worse, sending a check in with your child. I also like it that I can see the purchase history. I once found out that my son was buying lunch for his friends, not cool. I put the squash on that really quick by setting purchase limits on his account. (Though, I also found out that the school was allowing him to buy extra meals anyway (not an App issue), so I had to contact them to talk to the lunch staff, to make sure they were abiding by the parents’ requests. Make sure when you choose your purchase limits through the App, that the school staff is actually following your requests!)
Maestra Morada,
Convenient and customizable!
I have two children and I can add different amounts of money to each of their cafeteria accounts since I have one child who eats at school everyday and one child who mostly takes a lunch from home and doesn’t need much money. I was also able to transfer the money from the one who didn’t use the cafeteria at all last year to the other’s account. I also appreciate the customization options where I can place limits on how much my child can spend on “extra” snacks and things and I can see what she buys every day. I’m very glad our school district is using this app!
BethMit,
Holding Menus Hostage for Students’ PII
This app takes information that should be easily and publicly available, and hides it behind a password wall. To access school menus at all, you have to create a password protected account. And you can’t save your kids’ school to your ID - no, they don’t need parent statistics. If you want your school as the default, you have to give the your children’s school ID number, which gives SC access to all your children’s personal identifying information. (Otherwise, you have to wade through ridiculously long dropdown menus that constantly reset unless you do them in a precise order.)

We should not have to pay ransom with our children’s personal information just to view menus that should be readily available to any school parent. This flagrant consumer data collection app is disgusting, and I hate that my school district has been suckered into using it.
Mamabug1982,
So close to 5 stars! Needs one enhancement
Overall, this app is great and so easy to use! I can quickly check my children’s lunch accounts and love get notified when their balances are low. The only feature that’s missing is the ability to transfer funds from one account to another if you have more than one child on the app. For example, I loaded both kids accounts at the beginning of the year but one child uses their funds frequently and the other decided to bring their lunch. I’d love to have the ability to move that unused money over to my other child’s account. This would make the app 5 stars for me!
Jackscry,
Quick and Easy
With all the craziness in life it’s easy to forget to do certain things, this App has made things a lot easier. I get an alert whenever my daughters account has reached a certain amount of funds and can easily add more without any hassle or confusion. The only down side for me is that I’m not able to use multiple cards for payment. It gives you the option to add more then 1 card but it won’t let me choose between cards, it only ever shows one and won’t let me enter a new one because it says it’s already in the system.
CC Campbell Lohse,
Upgrade from paper!!
So much more efficient than writing out checks to the school all the time! Plus you can see all the extra snacks your kiddos purchase, like ice cream ect.... And you can even control what they can purchase and when! Like, only allowing them to get a dessert like cookies on Fridays, for example. Plus, you can set a low balance alert to send you a notification when their balance is low. So no more phone calls or notices in their back packs that only tell you after the account is already negative! Love it!
AssistantPrincipalMom,
Easy and Convenient!
School Cafe can be associated with an email address so that you receive an email when your child’s balance is low. What’s low? It’s up to you! I receive an email when my child’s balance is below $10. Additionally, when you pay, they have preset payments you can choose from, or you can add your own.

As both my husband and I work, it’s great to know that I don’t have to physically go to my child’s school and pay at the front office or in the cafeteria just so she can eat. School cafe is easy and convenient!
ZT lady,
SchoolCafé
I am very pleased with this app. It allows me to share in School Expenses for my grandson who lives 500 miles away from me. I like the fact that I get a warning if his account is running low and he seems to be quite happy with being able to get what he wants from the food area at the school. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a child either that lives close to them or far away; it makes helping that child much easier.
