Description

ScoreLynx is native iPhone/iPad application that gives golfers a live leader board during golf tournaments, golf outings, or casual multi-foursome rounds. For the competitive golfer or golf team captains, having the ability to know where you stand in the tournament at any point in time can be the difference between winning and losing in your event.

ScoreLynx setup for tournaments or multi-foursome play is fast and easy. Just create a unique "group name", then create a new game for their group. When the game is created you define the game type (several common games are available), skins type, course (you can easily create a custom course if your course is not available yet), and the tees to be played.

You can also setup the game/skins payouts by specify the per player ante for each. For games you can setup the percent payout for each place your game pays off. The app will compute all your game and skins payouts and list each players payout amount. So when all the players scores are in, all that's left is to divide up the money and congratulate the winners.

Users designated as their team's score keeper setup their foursome in much the same way they would on a paper score card. They add a team, and then add players to the team. Then hit "Start Scoring" and you'll see the leaderboard. By turning the device sideways a scorecard appears that allows a score keeper to enter each player's hole by hole gross score. The application figures out your net depending on the game type being played.

Turning the phone back to portrait returns you to the leaderboard. The leaderboard is automatically refreshed as other players scores are posted. The leaderboard can be viewed by team, player, skins or payouts. Tapping a player on the leaderboard opens that players "mini" scorecard so you can see any players hole by hole gross and net scores.

That’s it! It’s simple and easy to use, but will make you feel like a pro as you play through your round always knowing where you stand relative to the field.

To tryout ScoreLynx you can use the generic group name of "Demo". Choose an existing game there or create a new one. Enter your own teams and players and then checkout the leaderboard. Try posting some sample scores.

Moved send message function to the Settings menu.
Added an About ScoreLynx view to Settings.

Added several new options when creating a game:
- Show Notifications - controls whether the game will send out push notifications when a player scores a birdie or better.
- Show Pace Of Play - controls whether the game will show the pace of play indicators (turtles) on the leaderboard.
- Show Leaderboard - controls whether the game will show the leaderboard results. NOTE: this can be used in matches where you don't want the field to see the leaderboard while the match is ongoing. In this case you can create the game with the leaderboard turned off and then after all players have posted for all holes in the round, update the game to turn the leaderboard on.
- Show Skins - similar to "Show Leaderboard" option except applies to the games Skins results.
- Show Payouts - similar to the "Show Leaderboard" option except applies to Payout results.
- Use Group Handicaps - This will cause ScoreLynx to compute a handicap solely based on previous scores entered for players in your ScoreLynx group. This is invoked when a player is added to a team. The handicap populated for that player is the ScoreLynx computed one. The person adding the player is free to change the handicap after the fact, this only provides you handicap guidance. The rationale though is this will give you handicaps that are based on what the player's performance in your repeating competitions that are recorded in ScoreLynx.
- Multi Course Game - This indicates that game created is part of a set of games that are played across different course/tees. This is useful if you have players playing from different tee boxes but in the same competition. This will use the proper hole handicaps, slope and rating for the course being played. Visit scorelynx.com for more information on how to setup this type of tournament.

Added a Pace of Play indicator to the leaderboard. The indicator will show you when a player has posted a hole but their post time is slower than the nominal pace of play of 14 1/2 minutes per hole (based on 4 hours and 20 minutes for an 18 hole round of golf). The indicator is a turtle emoji. If the post time is 10 minutes beyond nominal pace of play but less than 20, one turtle is shown. If the pace is 20 minutes or longer slower than nominal pace of play than two turtles are shown. On subsequent postings if the post time comes back in line, the turtles are removed.

Faster is better. Changes in this version streamline setting up and/or creating a game. ScoreLynx now remembers your previous entries, so the next time you start or create a game, your previous entries will be pre loaded. Also on adding a new player or team when tapping "Done" ScoreLynx will automatically try to add the player or team using all the current entries (saves you one tap).

This version adds a slide out menu to access the new "Settings" page. From the Settings page you can change the application color Theme. There are 3 available themes: Original, which is the familiar shades of green backgrounds and accents; Black on White, which displays all pages in a simple white or gray accented background, with black text; White on Black which displays white text on black backgrounds. The more vanilla color schemes work nicely in bright sunshine or if a user has green sensitive color blindness. Also on the Settings page is an option for changing the text size. Three settings are available; Small, Medium, and Large. The font sizes can be further controlled using the standard Accessibility feature for font size control found in Apple's Settings app. The slide out menu can be access using the "hamburger" icon, or by swiping.

ScoreLynx has been completely rewritten to bring it up to current standards and also to improve and simplify the user experience. ScoreLynx is now much easier for new users to join existing games. It also removes a lot of the old limitations that prevented games from being easily scored by other players if the original scorer discontinued scoring.

ScoreLynx still provides both scorers and watchers access to the games live leaderboard results and score entry for those keeping player scores.

While ScoreLynx is still a free app, if you do want to score for more than one player you will need to agree to an in-app purchase of an annual subscription.

jr41265,
Easier to use
At the beginning the app was not very user friendly to operate, however, in the last 6-8 months there has been a great deal of work done on the revisions making it much easier to use. Setting up a game and adding players to a team is much more efficient than prior versions. When adding players you create the team and the when choosing players you can click each one of the in a list instead of typing in their names one by one. The app has shown many improvements in single games as well as multiple games such as a front 9/ back 9 game for some groups. The leaderboard has grown a great deal as well. With the addition of the turtles for pace of play, you can also see the front 9/ back 9 leaderboards during he multiple game segment. Makes the end of game calculations so much easier.
This is a great app and it should be used by more people. Some say it takes away the element of surprise, but it also shows what you are up against in a tight match or tournament.
murphy1925,
Scorelynx excellent for regular group play
If you run a group at your club, this is a great app allowing you to easily complete the final results after a round. I run a group that usually has anywhere from 12-20 players. Scorelynx allows for a variety of games (both gross and net) and includes skins if your group plays them.

In addition to helping to finalize results, most find it fun to “watch” the action on the live leaderboard during play. It’s easy to use and does not take away from the enjoyment of play. You’re not spending a lot of time distracted from play.

Highly recommend for regular groups as well as tournament play!!
PKTSickboy,
GREAT APP!
I’ve been using this app a lot while playing with my dad and his group. I loved it so much I started using it on the weekends with my golf group AND even started using it for my annual gold trip!! The app was pretty cool a couple years ago when started using it, but over the last year with the updates that have been made the app is AMAZING! The app calculates scores, points, even payouts! What used to take for ever after your round is done in a few short minutes once all groups have finished! LOVE this app nothing else like out there! Very user friendl6
emmett.lee,
Great Golf App
We have a golf group of 30+ guys and was looking for an app to help organize our weekly matches and make settling up each round easier. On days when we have a lot of players, it seems to take too long to settle our bets. This app has made it much easier and more accurate. The best part of using it has been the customization to our own games. Neil (the developer) has been unbelievably responsive to every question and request we have had. I highly recommend this app to any golf group!
Chargers coach,
Awesome app
Used this app when we did our annual trip to Myrtle Beach. Was awesome to be able to see how the whole field was doing live. Can’t wait for the match play addition for games in 2021.
Famer6,
Easy to use. Great for big group bets/ scores
Very responsive. Added multiple courses that weren’t in system upon request. Awesome app!!
paigiewaigie,
Good application for weekend warriors with multiple groups of players.
We use this application every weekend for our group. It is great to see how the two or three groups ahead of you are doing. I also like the flash updates saying "Pete made a birdie on the 4th hole". The only issue we had was at first trying to figure out how to set up the game. After we figured that out it has been a great application for us. It makes splitting up the days winnings a snap. The cash is already divided up before the last group comes into the 19th hole.
UltimateGeek🤓,
Insecure and unstable
Games and teams one creates are contained in a single database with no restrictions on edits. App crashes making it unusable.
Javoo,
Perfect for any Golfer
This is a must have app for those playing golf with friends. Keep all the scores, add your own course and see how others are doing at the same time your playing instead of waiting till it's all over. The variety of games makes the golf even more exciting. Try it and you will be hooked.
CIO-SB,
Not for me
The reviews were promising but I couldn't get past the hoops needed to get it going. I have been experimenting with various apps to keep score for our regular game that typically consists of 2 groups of 3 or 4. We play variations of match play and Nines so this app had promise. First of all Nines isn't an option when setting up a game so that was bummer #1. Once a game is setup the iphone workflow to get into a game and get others setup and into a game is not so elegant. Very clumsy compared to say GameBook. My group wanted nothing to do with it when I tried to explain how to get started with it. Your mileage may vary but not for me and my group.
