Thankfull but..

Hi I wanted to say thank you very much for still caring about this game and giving it an update after so long cause i tought you guy’s gave up on it no offence. Im really thanfull for the creation of this game cause it’s like animal crossing and ive had this game since it came out :). I wanted to let you know tho that even tho the update is great, there is a bug with the bag screen because whenever it switches to portrait or sideways, the bag screen glitches and it turns all brown not letting me see my items and sometimes it works when you keep turning the phone and other times ive just closed the app and restart it again so that it works. Other from that and that you made it easyer to earn coins Im happy with it, i have to say tho it be nice if we could either earn more pearls cause my storage and bag are already full..and if not then at least make the hours for selling stuff and repairing a building less? That be really helpfull 😅 thank you for hopefully reading my review 😊 i hope you get that nasty bug 😣. Thank you and keep up the amazing job with this app 💖

Also to those who have never tried the app before it’s a really nice game and i hope that anyone whom loves animal crossing or adventure games, gives this a try cause it’s worth it and it’s beautiful 👍🏻💖

Slow and Repetitive

This game in theory is super cute. I get that you are supposed to play a little bit every day. However, the pace is so incredibly slow from the very beginning it’s impossible to get into. I think an improvement in the early game pacing is needed. To get anything done I feel like I need to check the game every couple of hours. Which is not how I like to play my games and not realistic for someone who works and has responsibilities outside of constantly checking a mobile game. I regrettably bought gems to hopefully progress the game past the beginning hump to see if the game just needs a nudge. I won’t be doing it again because it got me no where. It all feels super chore like and not in the way I like from a game like this. I’m waiting to finish multiple tasks to progress the game and those tasks require stuff I have to wait days to get. Corn for example won’t be available for a couple of days which means my progress super early game has came to a complete hault. The pacing is just making what could be a really addicting game a total snooze fest. Instead of getting addicted to the progress I have completely lost interest in playing. The inventory is frustrating as well because nothing stacks. I get you want people to pay for gems but this is the first Apple Arcade game that is constantly backing me into a corner to buy more to get through the awful pacing and lack of noticeable progress.

Free Animal Crossing

What more could you ask for! I have played this game for about 4 years and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite games on the phone to this day. The ability to stop and start with no problems is very appealing as I always will get bored of games eventually but I always come back to this game every month or so. The ability to get pearls is so easy that I almost feel like I’m stealing from them. Just log in for 20 days and you’ll end up with around 100 no problems. I love how there is little you need to pay for, if anything at all. In this world of pay to play, this game has been a refreshing change of pace for me and I love it for that. Highly recommend this game for anyone willing to sit for 6 hours and finally realize how much time has gone by when your phone battery says 20%. Seriously I have looked up and it was dark outside and it definantly didn’t start like that. Some may say the long story is the least appealing part but I look at it as something to get to everyday. Just grind the coins (only upgrade fish stall and sell all the fish), and do the light house and garbage disposal dailies and you will have no problems. Get the game but don’t get angry when you lose entire days to this game.

Fun, but ridiculously hard to progress

I enjoy this game, but I have so much frustration with it due to its difficulty to progress and most of all the minuscule inventory. I’d be okay with this detail if it weren’t 50 pearls to upgrade inventory every time (and pearls aren’t that easy to come by), or do any sort of upgrade such as leveling up fish and food stalls to sell more items at once, making it difficult to make money fast enough. Currently I FINALLY have everything I need to build Seabeard manor, but now I discover it’s 4,000 coins to do so and I only have half that. It’s difficult to complete tasks with what little storage I have considering the materials I need are tying up so much of it and clothing items are part of my inventory, which by the way I am being told to buy every day in order to complete tasks and earn exp. this not only costs me money which sets my wallet back, but it creates even less inventory space and I don’t have a merchant to sell any of it. Why is wardrobe even part of my inventory and not it’s own inventory? And why is there no long term storage system such as a cabinet in one of my crew houses that I can store things I don’t need all the time such as clothes and building materials? If these issues were remedied and I could earn cash a small bit faster, this game would skyrocket to one of my favorites. Right now I’m playing it out of determination and, admittedly because it is pretty fun. But I am getting tired of it quickly.

Lovely, but not great for older people

This game is fantastic. It’s imaginative and visually gorgeous. It’s complex enough to hold my attention for a long period of time. In fact, when I first started playing it, I could envision myself playing it for years. Unfortunately, that will not be the case. What you don’t realize until you start playing the game is that there are items you need, which you can only win one way— by beating the arcade games you play when traveling between islands. You have to win the highest score in these games in order to get some of these items. That’s a problem for those of us who are over 50 and thus no longer have fast reflexes. I’ve grown increasingly frustrated trying to win these games so I can get the one item I need to do something essential, like build a trader house. I cannot advance in the game until I win them. Unfortunately, this means that my frustration level with this game has grown to the point where I will soon be deleting it. A pity. I would love it if the developers would rethink this and make it possible to win these items in other ways.

Where’s the nighttime music?????

I’m really glad I came across this game! I’ve played it over the years and keep coming back to it. Aside from the great gameplay, the visuals and music are perfect. A big part of the game being appealing to come back to is the unique art and the beautiful score. I ESPECIALLY appreciated the additional details and visuals specific to nighttime. Specifically the music. But the implementation of the new update eliminates the nighttime music and just runs through the upbeat daytime sailing ost. Personally this kinda interferes with the vibe featured in the sailing and adventures specific to night. The day and night details featured in this game are what make it feel so alive. I really do miss the beauty of the night ost. To me, that’s a big part of seabeard that I admired and used to appreciate. I don’t know if this is just a bug with the new update?? Or if the music was just manually removed...Whatever the case may be I just wanted to bring this to your attention and at least explain the significance of the music!!! But otherwise beautiful game and I will continue to play this intricate sailing adventure!!!!!❤️

Favorite game, wish it was completed

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for a game before, but I just had to for Seabeard. This game brought we so much joy and entertainment over the years. The artwork is beautiful, it’s so creative and complex, each step is thoughtfully created. Clearly a ton of love and effort went into this game. However, I was so disappointed when I found out it wasn’t completed. I will never be able to enter those random boats that were off limits or finish the parts of the island that we can’t rebuild yet. The game has a super long gameplay, which is awesome, but I just wish it was finished. There are so many lose ends in the story- what are those caves under our island for??

I will forever be hoping for a new update that finishes the story, and in the meantime, I will continue my search for a game to fill the gaping hole Seabeard has left. Props to the creators- and know you have a fan base out there that would certainly be willing to pay for the next installment!

Great game to fill Animal Crossing Void but.....

I just came back to this game after years of not playing hoping that it had been updated. I wish the stall upgrades were more affordable, maybe just 25 pearls each time along with the slots to make items, because it takes a lot of time collecting what you need it should not be a fortune to buy the slots. The cost of pearls for items really should be re-evaluated. Then if you don’t want to wait for item to be made or construction then you could spend pearls. I think it took so long to wait for things is why I gave up for a while as does others, it takes so long to progress. You can get stuck on waiting for items for weeks. You really do spend a lot of time traveling and collecting. I would like to see the game get updated soon to be able to finish the main island. I started again trying to complete the friendship gate. I really hope there is more once I get that done and that the developers did not give up on this. Not sure when the last update was done. But it would be a shame to start this game if new knowing they the big building at the top of your island can never be gotten to. So sad. This game is really cute.

Fun to play, but extremely difficult to progress

How am I ever suppose to progress on the main story line if I have to have explosive barrels that cost 250 pearls to buy to be able to clear space so I can build on my island?? I know it’s possible to win them in mini games but so far the games that I’ve won gold on medium difficulty, it still has yet to give me an explosive barrel. I absolutely CANNOT win gold on the mini games on hard difficulty, it is way too difficult and instead of relaxing and playing the game I get very flustered and anxious trying to win. Pearls are also extremely hard to come by and it’s not feasible to pay $10 for 300 pearls when ONE explosive barrel costs 250! Please do something about this. It should not be this difficult to come by an explosive barrel or tree remover. I am stuck because of this issue and not being able to make any progress day after day makes me not want to play the game anymore. The mini games in hard mode require hand-eye coordination and reflexes that not everybody has, making it impossible for people like me to win the required materials to progress in the game.

Beautiful update

The new look is gorgeous and having a portrait mode is wonderful!! There's only one update that I dislike and that's the fishing system. Before, if a fish was getting too close to the line and you were about to lose it you could exit out of the fishing screen and try again without the fish disappearing. There's no longer an option to do that which feels unfair because we can't control how the fish is going to behave and once it crosses the line we lose it completely unless we decide within 5 seconds to watch an ad to try again. There's no guarantee we'll even get the fish the second time around! They've always been fickle. I understand needing to implement an ad system somewhere for a little extra money, that's fair. You've put it in a good place, too, instead of making them just pop up randomly. So it's a little disheartening to have to lose fish now without watching an ad for a second chance but I definitely understand and think you put it in a fair place. 👍🏻
