SeaPal is an App for sailors and other water sport fanatics that support the skipper in his tasks for navigation and route planning. The central view shows a map with the current position and forward line. Waypoint and routes can easily be created, distances and courses can quickly be determined. The touch interface allows for fast and intuitive interaction.
Online maps for trip planning and documentation are included. In navigation the offline operation and the precision and depth of detail is of special importance. Thats why digital sea maps for selected areas can be downloaded and used offline.
Charts are available for the coasts of USA incl. Great Lakes, Argentina, Brasil, The Netherlands, German coasts of Baltic, New Zealand. Inland Waterways of Germany and Netherlands.
For the area of Lake Constance, Bavarian Lakes and Mecklenburg Great Lakes excellent sea maps provided by the IBN publishing house are available as extensions. Further areas are in preparation.
The application was developed in a cooperation between the IBN publishing house and the HTWG Constance University. The specific advantages of a mobile device and the touch interface were taken into account just as well as the special requirements of sailors and skippers. As a result of this cooperation, SeaPal Basic is made available for free. Extensions and offline-sea maps can be purchased and loaded according to your area and needs.
This cooperation is open to further extension. Should you be interested to develop or provide further extensions, please contact us.

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews for 9.99 EUR per year unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your App Store account settings after purchase.

SeaPal 2.1 brings synchronization of data for your account. After our careful redesign of the UI in version 2.0, we now provide you with a mechanism to synchronize your data between your devices. There are several scenarios where this is useful. If you replace your hardware with a new generation, this mechanism loads all of your data onto the new device. If you have several devices, like an iPhone and an iPad, data is synchronized between these within seconds while online. All that is necessary is to register with a personal account from the SeaPal app. All marks, routes, tracks and logbook information as well as your purchase information is synchronized.

Version 2.0 is the foundation for a device and platform overspanning user interface concept. Based on the successful concept of version 1.x, we carefully but profoundly reworked the user interface. The map view is even more central, the number of necessary clicks for almost all use cases was reduced. In menus, texts are accompanied or replaced by icons, the icons are completely redesigned, the menu structure is clearer. The look follows the new operating system, while fostering the identity of the application. The logbook, tracking and route planing have been revalued. In addition to the raster based maps, Version 2.0 now supports vector based maps, that reveal more details when zooming in. Such maps will be released in quick succession. The management of available, purchased and downloaded maps is now super easy, even when using many maps. We introduce our own user account management, which allows to synchronize purchases across devices.

Version 1.9 brings the harbor guide "Leg an" to our app, including off-line capabilities and brand new harbor detail maps for the entire Lake Constance. It fully replaces our previous light-weight version of it, the "Törnführer". Its customers are fully upgraded at no additional cost to a much higher value product. Navigational maps, including the harbor detail maps, can now be turned on and off from the context menu of the hair cross in the map view.

Almost good
It's an ok app but it's very slow and rough. Map of Lake Erie is 4.99$ but not sure if it'll work so I'll be saving my 5$.

Man kann keine Karten kaufen
Auch wenn ich es super finde dass man endlich Binnenkarten Digital kaufen kann, so habe ich es nicht geschafft eine einzige Karte zu kaufen, Beispiel Chiemsee und Bodensee, da der Preis nicht angezeigt wird:-(
