Shearwater Cloud links your mobile device to your Shearwater dive computer. It allows you to download and manage your dive logs, update your dive computer firmware, and use cloud storage.
Using Bluetooth LE technology, you can quickly and easily download your dive logs to Shearwater Cloud. Once your logs are downloaded, you can analyze your depth, decompression profile, temperature, and much more.
The defining feature of Shearwater Cloud is the ability to store your dives via the cloud. Cloud storage provides accessibility to your dives on any mobile device with an internet connection. In addition, dive logs can be recovered should the dive logs be lost on a local storage.
Shearwater Cloud is compatible with Peregrine, Teric, Perdix 2, Perdix AI, Perdix, NERD 2, Petrel 3, and Petrel 2.

Given how fabulous and well thought out the Teric is, this app is a shocking disappointment.
Let me be clear, it syncs with the computer just fine, but there are so many little oversights in design. Most of Us do several dives in a single location, why do I have retype information that is repetitive from the last dive?
It places all info in a combined graph, which is okay, but makes the scale of temperature almost flat in my dives. We should either be able to change the scale or isolate temperature to a single graph.

I expected better
The best I can say about this app is the basic functionality mostly works. There’s currently an issue with the dive numbers displaying incorrectly. I see that as minor inconvenience, but it’s a little annoying how long it’s gone unaddressed.
The app doesn’t look or feel like a native iOS app. Gestures that you’d expect to work - such as swiping to go back - don’t work. Scrolling is halting and jittery. Clunky dropdown boxes are used in place of native pickers. Most UI elements are unusually large. It’s a poor user experience.
Shearwater makes a great dive computer so I had high expectations for this app. Unfortunately it doesn’t come anywhere close to meeting them. If it were any other company I would have deleted it immediately. I’m holding out hope Shearwater can get it together.

Lots of room for improvement
I really like sheer water research and find their customer service to be very good.
My petrol two is a great dive computer which I have complete confidence in.
The mobile app works well from the perspective of connecting with and downloading the information contained on the petrol 2.
My issue with this mobile app is that the only data that you can see after syncing your dive computer with your mobile device is the Information contained on your dive computer. One must enter the specific details regarding the location, dive site, problems that occurred during the dive, etc . You must enter your “dive log” manually, it does not sync with the desktop which already contains a dive log of 400+ dives. So unless I re-enter the 400+ dives I’m still stuck having to access my home desktop. Without the details of the dive beyond date and time, length of dive, temp etc the info is of little use.

Small improvements needed
The app communicates with the dive computer great, no issues there. The issues are with adding details to the dives.
The screen scrolls too easy and is hard to control Vs most other apps. The response is not as accurate and fast as other apps.
I only have this problem on this app. Using an up to date iPhone 8 and all software updates on phone, app and dive computer.
Would love to see that dialed in so it’s not as cumbersome to add info to dives.

Support is outstanding
Recently an update was offered that was not quite right and some buttons were not working within the app. I wrote a review and also forwarded a n e-mail to Shearwater advising them that things were broken. A follow up patch was immediately released and appears to have repaired the app to full functionality. Outstanding response guys!!!

2.2.2 critique
Update 2.2.2 fixed the problem of converting dive dates to 2100’s. However all previously loaded dive information was lost. The edit function (with clock hand) still does not work. There may be limited value in having a profile captured by the Shearwater website but access is not allowed anyway. Only ‘guest’ access.

I love my Teric, but the app is horrendous. I am only sporadically able to connect my watch to the app and with the recent update I’m not able to get it connected at all to sync my dives. The UI is poorly designed and frankly in my opinion is less than usable. It takes so many unnecessary steps in order to do anything as it relates to logging or viewing dive logs. I think I would be less annoyed if there was no app to use than frustrating myself trying to use this one.

Way Too Many Bugs!
This app looks like it was developed in 2010. After connecting to Bluetooth, the pop up screen won’t disappear. You have to click around and then you notice it is connected. You can’t remove device after you connected it. Have to delete the app and reinstall. Also changing the name of the Teric, it won’t save the name you changed it to. You can press confirm again and again and it just generates more pop up screens. Beyond disappointed.

Great app. As soon as I’m done with the dive(s), I sync up to my phone and download the dive data, add some comments (dive site, buddy, weight, outdoor temp, etc) and I’m off to the races. It helps me fill in my RDL later too (just so I’ve got the paper version too). Don’t see any reason to use anything else.

Abjectly poor UX
For a hardware that’s extremely well built, this is a sore disappointment. The UX is from the 1960s, there’s no aesthetic or functional value in any aspect of the product, it’s incredibly unintuitive and has literally seen no love in 4 years of me using it.
Clearly, this isn’t a priority for shearwater. Go ahead, admit that fact and maybe collaborate with someone more competent at app development going forward.
