Description
Research shows that we talk differently to children depending on their gender. We talk to boys about their abilities. We talk to girls about their bodies. And little by little this starts to influence how they see themselves: Boys are brave. Girls are pretty.
We don’t always realise when the words we choose strengthen stereotypes. Sheboard is a mobile keyboard that helps everyone reflect on how we talk to and about girls. Using predictive text input, it helps us notice – and possibly change – when we use language that strengthens stereotypes.

Sheboard is developed by Plan International, a development and humanitarian organisation that advances children's rights and equality for girls.
Sheboard is currently available in English, Swedish and Norwegian.
