Description
Mark the passage of time with the authentic chime of a ship's bell. Sailors have long signaled the beginning and end of duty watches by striking bells in a pattern that cycles in four hour intervals. Excellent for use as a display or background chiming clock on all of your compatible iOS devices.
You can optionally silence bells automatically for selected watches, and enable Reveille, Retreat, and Taps sounds to play at your preferred time.

Needs proper number of bells for the dog watches
For the first and last dogs there are only four bells. The app goes through all eight bells on both watches. I’ve checked the settings and if this option is available it is not obvious. For the next version consider making this change. Great application otherwise! I really like it!

Strike the bell 2nd mate!
This app keeps bell time not much else to say other than it brings me lots of joy. There is an on and off switch if your house mates or other less salty companions get tired of know when their watch ends. It works is simple to use and is reasonably priced not much else to say. I love it thank you for making this.

No sound, bell is not even really a bell
I just downloaded this for the first time today and set it up (with sound on and notifications enabled) with >20 mins to next bell. Nothing. Sound is enabled, everything is on.
If you touch the anchor at the top of the screen it plays the sound. That works fine, but even the sound is clipped at the end.
Total waste of the money paid.
EDIT: The bells mysteriously started working at 9am the next day. Also, when the bells actually ring on schedule, the sound isn’t nearly as “clipped” at the end as when played through the app interface. Adding a few stars because it technically works (for now?) but man it’s buggy.

Ships Bells
I had another version of Ships Bells, updated my iPad, and Freud that the older version was not supported. No worries, went to the App Store and got the updated version. Only thing is that the sounds are chimes not bells. Can this be adjusted?

Fun, but can’t always rely on an accurate number of rings
I’ve enjoyed this app, but it doesn’t always chime the correct number of bells. And for the last bell, it often rings 6 times instead of 8. Is there a reason for this or is it a glitch?

Background App Refresh not working
Great app but have to keep killing and restarting it to keep bells going even with background refresh enabled as pop up message says when it “winds down” and stops playing bells.
Maybe no one mentioned this before? I’m on a 6S Plus.

Cool when it works
Had to install the app twice and then restart my iPhone 6 in order for it to work. It worked great for 24 hours and then after I silenced a couple of the “watch times,” it stopped working again. I’ve now installed it a 3rd time with the hopes that it works once more. UPDATE: Crappy app. Wish I could have my 99 cents back.

Keeps people guessing
For those who never had to stand watch or never heard a Chelsea clock strike the watch. It is a good conversation piece for those who maybe nautically challenged!

Like Being at Sea (Almost...)
The app works well for me, and I find the bells regulating my life in a comfortable way. One recommendation: rather than truncating the bell tone to shorten the sound, let each Bell reverberate to its full glory and to aural authenticity.

Great sound. Erratic rings.
Bells ring and then fall off for no apparent reason, despite adjusting settings as indicated. Frankly, having to provide instructions to deal with no bells is a bad sign. Should default to all these settings without the need to adjust. I’ll use more if these issues are resolved because I love the bell sound.
