This release supports new devices and improves compatibility with the imminent iOS/iPadOS update.
1.10
2020-09-16
This release supports new devices and improves compatibility with iOS 14 and iPadOS 14.

- Now compatible with this year's new iPad lineup.
- Rewrote all networking code. This should resolve a long-standing issue where forcing a stylesheet update might not complete, despite a working Internet connection. (NOTE: Shut Up supports Background App Refresh, so you don't need to force updates.)
- Removed the Alamofire networking library.

Hey, while you're here: did you know Shut Up is available for all major browsers on the Mac too? Even Safari? Just thought I'd mention it.

Shut Up now requires iOS/iPadOS 12 or later. Thank you for your understanding.

This release adds Quick Actions for adding sites to the whitelist. Simply press and hold Shut Up's home screen icon to easily add or paste a new URL!
1.8
2020-07-10
This release removes a feature which proactively checked the clipboard for URLs to add to the app's whitelist. This URL detection worked on-device, and that's where all your data stayed. A future update will make this a fully manual process without sacrificing convenience.

Lots of bug fixes and improvements in this update:

wv23,
Exactly what I needed.
Downloaded, turned on in settings, checked a few sites on Safari, and I cannot see ANY comments. Goodbye toxic internet people, hello peace and safe browsing. I don’t know why things like this are not more popular, but I guess more people feed into the poisonous online community than just going online for education and keeping up to date on things. We really should be able to turn comments on and off on all platforms and apps, I’m hoping one day we can.
XacWhite,
Awesome!
I also had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work on iOS 15+ on the iOS 16 beta it worked fine! After reinstall it worked awesome!
ashleyg216,
Great concept, great app, one small thing
Super useful in that it prevents me from the odd compulsion to waste time reading the opinions of strangers.

However, I’ll sometimes want to deliberately check a site with a discussion thread on my phone and, after allowing it, I’ll delete the site from my “exception” list but comments still show up. Usually I have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Not quite sure why this happens.
one_ouji,
Needs another update
This app usually works how I want to, but it no longer works on YouTube’s new mobile interface that appears to have given its comments section its own tab. (However, it works just fine when I switch to desktop mode.)
sts221,
Get it!
Great app! For some reason I had to install twice before it worked, but now it does exactly what I want it to. Puts the kibosh on the soul-crushing cavalcade of idiocy and sociopathic mendacity that afflicts Internet web site commentary. Bliss.
cdeford,
Great app!
This makes browsing the internet so much better! Now I can browse Instagram without seeing random people’s nasty profanity-laced comments! Great!
Der Golem,
I can’t look at the internet without this
I am so very grateful for this absolutely necessary app. I can add sites to my whitelist, the rest vanish and I don’t miss the endless blather. Thank you for this.
shawnwwwww,
Must have!!!
Blocking comments will make your life much happier and less stressful :)
Reviewing your app,
Great concept.
I like what it does, but I would love it even more if it can work on all the individual apps.I downloaded it so I couldn’t have comments on any of my apps and I could watch content without opinions.
partyllamas234,
Doesn’t work
For some reason I can’t turn it on in my app settings for safari. I’ll keep trying until it works- I’m so excited to block comments!
