- New tool: Sound Intensity. Measure up to 3 axes of acoustic intensity, acoustic particle velocity, and acoustic pressure with 2-microphone sound intensity probes in whole or 1/3-octave bands, or in narrowband FFT-based spectra. The Sound Intensity tool was designed according to the requirements specified in ANSI standard S1.9-1996, Instruments for the Measurement of Sound Intensity. It offers phase compensation for each 2-mic (p-p) probe, means of measuring the pressure-residual-intensity index, and overload (clipping) indicators. It can also indicate the sign (positive or negative direction, relative to the orientation of the probe) of the intensity and velocity data in individual frequency bands as well as for overall levels.
- New tool: Polar Plot. This tool makes it easy to make a beautiful graph of polar data, which can be saved to a high resolution PDF file. The Polar Plot offers auto and manual scaling, dB scale, and selectable orientation, direction, grid lines, and angles. It even offers a data cursor for examining specific values within the plot.
- New basic tool: The Signal Generator tool has been moved from the Advanced to the Basic Tool Set.
- New advanced tool: The File Player tool has been moved from the Pro to the Advanced Tool Set.
- New Pro feature: When saving an audio or data file, up to 10 custom metadata entries, each consisting of a name and value, can be specified to be included in the file. Each custom metadata entry is remembered by the app until it is manually removed. Custom metadata entries can be enabled or disabled for inclusion in saved data files.
- Input triggering in the Oscope and FFT tools now supports triggering all inputs from the same channel (selectable from any available input and output channels), or each channel self-triggering, as before.
- The Oscope now offers additional, smaller time scales. Input triggering behavior has been improved at smaller time scales.
- The Octave Analyzer tool now supports octave bands with center frequencies from 1 Hz to 64 kHz (depending on the sample rate) and 1/3 octave bands from 0.8 Hz to 80 kHz (depending on the sample rate). You can select the range of frequency bands to display in the Octave Analyzer tool's main graph.
- The Signal Generator tool now supports multiple output channel selection for the left and right signals.
- Frequency response compensation (FRC) now supports phase correction when phase information is included in import frequency response data (FRD) files. Phase information is shown in a separate graph in the FR Compensation menu.
- Frequency response data, for FRC, can now be loaded from FFT or Dual FFT data files generated by SignalScope.
- New color scheme: Gray.
- In select tools, data import has moved from the options menu to a new menu of its own, which is found next to the input channel selection menu(s).
- Expanded list of vertical scale selections. Selection can now be made from a list of available scales in the Display Options menu.
- Under the hood improvements: Performance and robustness of the underlying software code have been enhanced in many areas of the app.
- Cosmetic improvements can be found throughout the app.

Bad app
Horrible app, had to download for school and it had a whole complicated lab that was very annoying to do
Akos95126,
Captured (saw) hum in vehicle when others didn't.
I had a low amplitude hum in my motor vehicle after a crash and repair. It was irritating me but two other spectrum analyzer/FFT apps didn't "see" it, probably because of road rumble noise that was almost as loud, overwhelming the measurement. This SignalScope X app did see it, which I showed the mechanic. I recommend it.

No Free Trial
Advertised with free trial. Open it up, boom, subscription required. Why not be forthcoming? Deleted and moving on.
drcola12345,
Not free
fft requires a subscription. Are you kidding me?
Al707,
You won’t be happy, the negative reviews are accurate
Like so many others I purchased the app, and expensive add-ons from this developer. I too paid well over $100 for the software. The app no longer works. I exchanged emails with them, and they have lots of talking points to explain why your expensive software no longer works, and you should buy it all over again for even more money, with no real added features. It comes down to this, the developer wants more money. Ok, sure, why not? Except they want the money from the people who already paid for it. The app is disabled, so you either pay them all over again, or you software is a brick that won’t even open. They want to blame Apple. Really? They want to move to a subscription model, and they are going to make you pay. If you haven’t already purchased this software, I would suggest you think whether you want to be treated the way we have been. There are alternatives available. Why suffer the pain of dealing with this developer who treats his customers so poorly? The problem isn’t the software, it’s that the developer has no regard for their customers, and, to put it simply, won’t do the right thing. BTW, just found the Spectrum app.
iMAF,
U guys made a mistake
I paid $70 for the pro app 5 years ago. It was expensive for an app, but i feel I’ve gotten my money’s worth. I really love the pro app. As a professional sound engineer, what i use the most is the octave analyzer. And it’s just crazy to think i’m going to now pay over $70 a year to get that analyzer. When i just found a pretty decent one for $4.99. A one time payment!! Dude.... Its a smartphone! We all know this app is really tight and well done and its kindda close to what u get out of a real pro meter. But its a smartphone microphone!!! The hardware is simply not that accurate for u guys to pretend this product is worth over $70 a year. Get off that cloud. Its really sad because i really loved this app. I would even pay the $1.99 a month on top of the initial $70 i paid because its a work tool and i understand u have to keep updating the app with every new iphone that comes out, but... the cheaper subscriptions dont have the octave analyzer! I hope u guys open ur eyes.

Better than expected
I’m a long time user of AudioTools and Smaart. So far this application looks good, is responsive and less buggy than others. I know it’s expensive and subscription based but the other tools are quite expensive as there is not a large user base. SPL calibration worked flawlessly. For live sound I love that I can simultaneously monitor RTA, spectroscope, dB at multiple weightings and sound exposure etc. I’ve also tuned with dual channel measurement and worked flawlessly(although I slightly prefer Smaart for this one thing…). Only thing I haven’t sorted is how to change scale of Y axis to custom ranges I’m interested in…. The fact that this works with single subscription on my phone, iPad and Mac really deals the deal for me.
otherwillsmith,
Great tools, lousy company
This company makes great tools. I have used their apps and they work great. Unfortunately, they do not have any customer loyalty at all. I paid $150 for a complete tool set and got great use out of it for several years. Unfortunately it was written for 32 bit architecture. When Apple forced app developers to update to 64 bit, these guys wrote a new app and started billing monthly. They didn’t bother to update the previous app and now my expensive app toolkit is useless. When I asked for support, they blamed Apple. When I asked about legacy upgrades, they claim Apple won’t let them. The tool kit that most closely resembles the kit I purchased is not over $170 per year. I only need this tool about three times a year. I need a one time fee tool. I’m headed back to SMAART.
Moonbe@m,
Don’t buy!
But only if you don’t mind lame excuses 2 years later. I purchased the original in December 2017, paid about $100. As of September 2019 it stopped working. You want me to pay a subscription great, refund my $100 and then maybe I will. Tired of all these subscription based apps. I use the app once a month, not worth it. If they were good devs they would update the original instead of screwing all of us! Yes you could very well have predicted an update would brick the app, it happens more often than not. Line 6 fixed their issues when IOS 13 bricked the Sonics! To those who are in the same boat as me the only way to fix it is use an older iPad like an air 1, it can’t be updated to iOS 13.
Pepsy-PPC Productionz,
Great audio analysis tools
SignalScope X audio analysis tools offer quite a lot of signal information in exchange for the monthly subscription rate.

With the newest release, Faber Acoustical gives the user even more bang for their buck with the addition of new sound analysis tools such as “RoomScope,” and enhanced file handling capabilities which can be used even without a subscription.

The variety of subscription plans and rates provide pro audio analysis solutions that accommodate any budget.
