I have probably played 10,000 games on your app. It is getting very smart and very hard to beat. Congratulations- I can only imagine the AI behind it all. My complaint is this: far too often, my hand looks very much like the previous hand. State X should be independent of state y. I realize your stats show randomness, but I have a strong sense that it ain’t quite so

I enjoy playing Skat and this is the only way I can. The most aggravating moment is when my partner does not return my lead or occasionally throws a ten on the opponent's trick. Much better than nothing.

Having played Skat for many years, not always finding a third partner in the US, this is awesome. Yes, there are some minor glitches as commentator number 5 mentioned, but so what. Nothing is perfect and perfect is boring anyways. Ever since I installed this on our iPad, my (Chinese) girlfriend (who beats the sh... Out of me in Skat) and I play this for hours at a time on long distance flights. It is also good practice. The Saxon accent of the mice is very funny. Congratulations, I hope you folks make a lot of money with this.

Poor shuffle, many logical mistakes.

This app rates 5 stars for playability, flexibility, and precise adherence to rules - all rules but one: it cheats, without qualms, and consistently. For example, if you play "null" and hold a nine without the seven and eight of that suit, and if the app is honest, then you have a 50% chance that the seven and eight are not both in the hand of either player. If they are never in the same hand but always distributed, that is proof that the app cheats. It also cheats in other ways, it will give itself 7, 8, or even more trumps ( out of 11 ) with disproportionate frequency. Fear not - it gives you chances to get the better of it. For example, it plays "ramsch" very poorly, failing to rid itself of "losers" early in play. It makes up for that by playing "null" brilliantly, as if it could see all three hands ( it almost certainly does - meaning it cheats in that way, too).
Despite these severe flaws, you can have fun playing this app. Just recognize that you are playing a weakly playing cheater - you will not be disappointed in that.

I have played Skat for more than 70 years, on and off, first in Germany and later, as the occasion presented itself, in the US. So I am a very soft competitor, nothing compared to my grandfather who practically made it a career to play every weekend.

This implementation of the game is quite enjoyable. It falls a bit short of the version produced by Uwe Rasche for the Macintosh. My main complaint would be the poor verbalization quality of the few standard phrases. Whatever dialect was chosen, it isn't what I would prefer. So I turn off the sound. By comparison, the audio in Rasche's Skat feels like playing with an AI (artificial intelligence).

Bottom line: if you know Skat already, it is well worth the small investment for your iPad.. I can't tell how it would be as a learning tool.

This game is worth the money if you like to play Skat. However, there are still many bugs that need to be corrected. The game keeps crashing, especially before you've had a chance to look at the score and ask for a review. Also, the English translation is poor. "Plenty points" for "ein fetter Stich" is incomprehensible. "A lot of points" might be at least correct, but even that is awkward. I would also appreciate the option of playing not only 3 bock rounds, but also 3 Ramsch rounds. The only Ramsch possible so far is if no one bids. Still, even though this game needs updating, I'm still enjoying playing it.

I don't believe the game deals the hands fairly as a couple of others have pointed out. It plays pretty well, but the computer players do make some bonehead moves as do I. It is not unusual for me to only bid and play 3 hands in a 36 deal game. While I have a higher average score than the computer opponents it is not fun waiting for the cards to turn for a few hands. I am amazed at how often I have to face highly unlikely distributions.

I agree with other reviewers about strange play like giving away an ace to the player when a no-point card could be played, then to play a lesser card when partner wins a trick. Happens a lot. I provided detailed hand to the developer and he must know because of these reviews, but no fix.

Like some others I am frustrated by allowing only tournament scoring. The settings have options for classic and bock round, but the app won't let you select them. I have written to the author three times, but no reply. PLEASE FIX THIS!!
