2.4.2
2022-02-25
This version makes some pretty minor bug fixes and improvements to bring Skiplit completely up-to-date with the latest version of iOS and iPad OS. You would think that because the changes were minor that they would have been easy to implement, but quite the contrary! When I tried to put the code for the app on my phone to test it, I kept getting lots of weird errors that I had to scour through, and ended up kind of changing things randomly until it worked. Maybe if I pretend that I understood what I did then it'll be true.
Happy Skipping!
2.4.1
2022-01-25
This version has just some very minor bug fixes and improvements, like a new and improved loading screen when the app first launches. This version also updates a lot of the frameworks that Skiplit uses. What does that mean for me? Hours of trying to figure out why different things were giving me a bunch of errors and having to re-configure my computer because apparently it couldn't find the "readline" library. What does that mean for you? Absolutely nothing (well, not nothing... Skiplit might be slightly faster now)
2.4

In this version, we added... Wait for it... Achievements! That's right, you'll now get a little trophy when you do certain things on Skiplit. There's even a few secret achievements... I give you some hints on how to get them, but that isn't a very lit thing to do.
Stuck inside? Play Skiplit with your family and see who can get gold on the most levels! (I'm rooting for you, but don't tell anyone I said that).

2.3.3
2019-01-21
In this version, we made some minor improvements and bug fixes. We also updated Skiplit's page on the App Store with an awesome new preview video — go check it out! And if you love Skiplit, take a few seconds to leave a review while you're there — it helps us out a lot, and your feedback makes us skip with joy!
Every time we upload a new version of Skiplit to the App Store, the build number goes up by one — it's kind of like an "internal" version number. If you tap the options button after you update, you'll see that this is build number 100 of Skiplit! Yay! Don't understand what that means? The least you could do is fake your excitement...
Remember to follow us on Twitter @SkiplitApp for tips, tricks, random semester-long periods of silence, and more! Want to help the Skiplit community grow? Share Skiplit with your friends and compare your progress with them!

2.3.1
2019-01-10
This version fixes a bug that caused some new users to experience a crash when they opened Skiplit for the first time. It probably goes without saying, but it is recommended that all new players download this update.
In version 2.3, we added five new levels, improved support for the iPhone XS and XR, and made some improvements and minor bug fixes.
The play button got a lot smarter, too! Instead of always taking you to the earliest uncompleted level, the Play button is will now bring you back to whatever level you were working on last.
Now, you may be thinking to yourself "Ok. That's pretty cool and all. But why are you making such a big deal out of this? Can a button really be smart?". Well let me tell you somethin' — with the amount of time I spent trying fixing bugs with the new button and coming up with edge cases, it better be smart, and even if it isn't smart, I'm just gonna call it smart to make me feel good about how much time I spent on it.
I would add another paragraph about how cool the new play button is, but I figured maybe you'd want to know more about updates to the game rather than a button...
Particles now appear whenever you run out of skips! I would describe what they look like, but we both know I won't do it justice, so update Skiplit and go check it out!
In addition to all this awesome stuff, we improved Colorblind Assist mode, and made some minor bug fixes. We also added a cool little easter egg, but it wouldn't be an easter egg if I told you where it was, now would it be?
You may be wondering why there haven't been many updates to Skiplit recently — let me answer your question with a story:
There once was a boy named Skipper. Skipper had all the time in the world to update his games and add new levels, and people that played Skipper's games were happy. Then one day, Skipper found himself taking seven courses and having nine hours of class on Thursdays and Skipper also had to learn the programming language R for one of his classes and even though Skipper didn't want to learn R they forced him to learn it and now he can't un-learn R no matter how badly he wants to and now people are gonna think Skipper knows what statistics is even though Skipper really has no clue what that word means.
That story was a work of fiction. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.
We'll be adding some big new features in a while, so stay tuned! (Did someone say Skiplit 3.0?)
Do you really really like Skiplit? Or at least really like it? Take a few seconds to rate us on the App Store, and if you're feeling especially awesome, write Skiplit a review! We really appreciate your feedback — it makes us skip with joy!
Happy New Year and Happy Skipping!

2.2.10
2018-07-09
In this version, we made some major performance improvements for iPad users, as well as some improvements for all other iOS devices. Mainly, we fixed an issue that was causing some iPad users to experience lag. We recommend that all iPad users update to this version (and also to any new version, because, like, why not? But especially this version).
In addition, we made some fixes and improvements to colorblind assist mode.
This is usually the part where I go on a rant about how long it took to fix a stupid bug. But I'm not going to do that this time. Doing something like that would only waste precious characters, and I can only use 4,000 of them in an update log. Therefore, I am going to not talk about how terrible bug fixing is, or about my love-hate relationship with coding. I would hate to waste your time by making you read those few sentences where I go on a rant, and I wouldn't want to waste my own time writing something like that, so I'm not going to do it this time.
We've been hard at work on Skiplit version 3.0, and we can't wait to release it. Follow us on Twitter @SkiplitApp for sneak peeks, updates, and more!
Love Skiplit? Or at least hate it only when you can't figure out how to complete a level? We'd really appreciate it if you took a second to review us on the App Store — we enjoy reading your feedback! Don't want to write a review? Steal your friends' phones and download Skiplit for them!

2.2.9
2018-04-15
In this version, we added five new levels, and made some improvements. We added a new "Colorblind Assist" option that changes the color scheme of Skiplit to make colors easier to distinguish. We also fixed a bug with the Skiplit Community that caused white-outlined ghost grey balls to not act properly. We also made some other bug fixes but they're really small and really hard to explain and I kinda sorta don't really want to type that much right now so I'm not going to but I guess my reasoning would make this giant run-on sentence is a little ironic.
That's about it. We're working for some big new features for Skiplit 3.0! It'll be a pretty big ACHIEVEMENT when we release it in a few weeks but I've already said too much.
If you love Skiplit, share it with your friends. Have boring friends that don't want to play Skiplit? Share it with random strangers! A great way to do it is by walking into random restaurants and demonstrating the game to people while they're trying to figure out what they want to order. You can also just launch the app and go to the level that it took you the longest to solve and just hand your unlocked phone to random strangers you pass on the street and see if they can solve it.

2.2.8
2018-02-18
In version 2.2.7, we made some bug fixes that fixed issues that could cause progress to be lost when upgrading to a new iOS device. In this version, we made fixed an issue that caused certain users to experience instability when trying to edit levels in the Skiplit Community. We also changed the font used when "Font Assist" is enabled to make it look a little nicer.
That's about it, but I have like 3,700 characters left for this update log, so I might as well throw a little plug for the Skiplit Community in here. If you haven't visited the Skiplit Community yet, you really should! Just tap the blue "Community" button on the menu screen. You can design and share your very own levels, and play levels people from all over the world have created! The more people that play your levels, the higher the chance that it'll make it onto the trending levels list, so make sure to share your level creations with your friends.
If you have any feature suggestions, let us know at skiplit.com/contact — we love to hear your feedback!

2.2.7
2018-02-12
In this version, we made bug fixes and improvements. If you're planning on upgrading to a new phone, you should update to this version before doing so.
For the about 5% of you who actually care what the bug fixes were: there was a bug that was causing previous shot lines to not show up on community levels, which we fixed. The second thing was kind of a bug fix but also an improvement kinda sorta but not really... It's... It's complicated... Basically, we changed the way progress in the game and other data is stored. Before this update, if you didn't encrypt your iTunes backup before upgrading to a new device, there was a chance that your progress could have been lost. So, if you're planning on upgrading to a new device soon, you really should update Skiplit first.
We also added some awesome new features! Just kidding that was just a complete lie with not even a hint of truth in it. We will be adding some new levels soon, though, so stay tuned!
Found a bug? Have a feature request? Let us know by contacting us at skiplit.com/support! If you love Skiplit, you should go review us on the App Store. 2.2.6
2018-02-06
In this version, we added a new level group and made some improvements and minor bug fixes. We also fixed stability issues affecting some users.
We added five new levels in a new level group — you'll have to update Skiplit to see what the new level group is all about! Additionally, we made purple objects appear slightly brighter to make them easier to see. We also added a new setting in options that protects you from accidentally restarting a level, which is off by default.
There was an issue with the Yahoo advertising library causing some users (mostly on iOS 11) to experience instability. We've removed the library and switched to a different advertising network, so if you were experiencing crashes they should no longer occur. In this version, we also fixed a bug with the Skiplit Community that caused some objects to appear larger than they were supposed to for some users.
That's about it for this update. Remember to follow us on Twitter @SkiplitApp for updates, tips, tricks, and more! Share Skiplit with your friends and compete to see who can make the hardest level in the Skiplit Community.

2.2.4
2017-11-27
In this version, we made some bug fixes and improvements. Namely, we fixed a bug that sometimes made alerts show up too often, and fixed a few bugs with portals. That's really about it... I'm not really sure what else to put here, so I think I'll just stop writing.
Just kidding. This is a perfect opportunity for shameless self-promotion, and would I ever pass that up?
But before that, if you love Skiplit, We'd really appreciate it if you gave us a review on the Apple App Store — it only takes a few seconds, but it really helps us out a lot, and we love reading your feedback.
We'll be releasing Skiplit 3.0 soon, and along with some overhauls to the Skiplit Community, we'll be adding one, awesome new thing — themes. What are themes, you might ask? Well, by completing levels in Skiplit and in the Community, you'll be able to unlock new themes — new color schemes, music, and sounds. We'll be posting lots of updates on Twitter @SkiplitApp.

2.2.3
2017-11-13
In this version, we added five new levels and made some updates to improve Skiplit on the iPhone X and iPad. There are now 150 levels in Skiplit! Yay!
The five new levels are pretty cool, if I do say so myself. You'll also notice some awesome UI improvements when you're playing Skiplit on an iPhone X or an iPad.
We're planning a fairly large update (did somebody say version 3.0?). We'll be posting some sneak peeks as to what it'll entail on Twitter, so make sure to follow us @SkiplitApp!

2.2.2
2017-10-18
In this version, we made bug fixes. lots of bug fixes. You should update Skiplit.
If you don't care about bug fixes, you should care about these because they're pretty nice ones. If nothing I say can make you care even the slightest bit about the amount I slave over fixing bugs, just tap that update button and I'll try to not cry. But, because you DO care about these bug fixes, and really can empathize with me, here's what we did:
There was a bug that affected a few users that, seemingly randomly, caused the app to crash after going to the levels screen and then choosing another level a few times. Turns out none of the crash logs said anything about what, in the code. was causing the crash. Long story short, I guess the blur effect used for the pause screen and the win screen somehow broke in iOS 11 (probably. Still not sure why), so we got rid of that blur and added a different blur effect.
The other bug that we fixed was a slight inaccuracy that occurred when shooting a ball without dragging your finger far away. How did I fix that one? Glad you asked! Turns out that I was using the wrong coordinate system to determine the velocity of the ball, which for some reason had a tiny yet annoying effect on the angle.
That's about it for this update! If you love skipping, remember to review us on the App Store — your feedback really means a lot to us!

In this version we added five new levels to the teleportation group. In addition to those new levels, we made it slightly easier to unlock new level groups.
That's about it... I'm not quite sure what else to put in here... Maybe I'll just stop writing right... now
Just kidding.
We'd really appreciate it if you took a few seconds to review us on the App Store, or share Skiplit with your friends. It really means a lot to us!

In this version, we added an all-new level mechanic along with some awesome new features on the levels screen.
Introducing teleportation. Shoot a ball through a portal, and it will come out of the other portal with the same velocity. That's all I'm going to say about portals for now — you'll have to unlock the group and play yourself to learn more!
We also added some great new features on the levels screen. Just tap an unlocked group name to see in a glance how many levels you've completed, how many you've gotten gold on, or how many more tutorial levels you need to complete. Tap on a locked group name to see what you have to do to unlock it — complete three more levels in the previous group, or get gold on at least four of the already completed levels in the previous group. You can even 3D touch on a level to see how many skips you've used on it, and how many are necessary to get gold.
We're really excited about portals. If you love portals as much as we do, we'd really appreciate it if you took a second to review us on the App Store.

In this version we added five new levels to the Ghosts group — they're all really awesome, so you should go check them out! That's really about it for this update.
We'll be redirecting our focus for the next update, adding a whole new level mechanic! We'll also be adding some new features for 3D touch devices — stay tuned, and remember to follow us on Twitter @SkiplitApp for tips, tricks, announcements, and more!

2.1.1
2017-08-11
We added five new levels to the New Movement group, and also made one of the levels in the No Color group (6-7, to be exact) more spaced out, making it only slightly easier.
In addition to that, we made some improvements to our App Store page — go check out our awesome new screenshots for the iPhone app in the App Store (and if you love Skiplit, leave a review while you're there... or just stare in awe at the beautiful new screenshots... whatever...)
The animations for touching a grey wall mysteriously disappeared in the last update — oops! We fixed that along with a few other bugs in this update.
Another one was a fairly large memory leak — basically a "thing" in the app's code that isn't being used any more, but is still stored. In this case, that unused "thing" grew in size and number, slowing down the app and eventually leading to it crashing. Memory leaks are a lot like not emptying your trash can — only trash fills every inch of your house and makes it explode. The fun thing about fixing memory leaks is that there's no way to find exactly what in the app's code causes it, so it's a guessing game. Coding is fun. Maybe if I keep saying I enjoyed the challenge it'll become true.
The other two bugs were pretty small — one caused some minor instability in the app when clicking a button on the pause view, and the other was a tiny bug with the level designer — both now fixed.
That's about it for this update. We'll be adding five new levels to the Ghosts group next week, giving every level group fifteen levels. After that, we'll be making some awesome improvements for devices with 3D touch, and adding a new level mechanic (there was a hint as to what it was in the last update log — go see if you can figure it out)!
Remember to follow us on Twitter @SkiplitApp for tips, tricks, news, and more.

In this version we added some awesome particle effects and a line that shows where you last shot each ball — when you drag a ball, you'll be able to see where you shot it on your previous attempt! We also added five new levels to the Nothing New category — go check them out!
Whenever you hit a goal, use a ghost ball, or win a level, some particles will appear! Hate particle effects or just fun in general? You can turn them down or even all the way off in settings.
we are just the *tiniest* bit behind on the pRomisED once-per-week update — sorry! we were really busy makIng the art for those awesome new paRticle EffeCTs, and for some reason It took me a long time to fix a dumb bug with the previOus-shot lines. there's only two weeks left before there's fifteeN levels in every group! after that, we'll be adding an awesome new level mechanic, so stay tuned! (as promised, we included a hint in this update log as to what it is). we'll also be adding some awesome new features for 3d touch in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

After that, we'll be adding an awesome new level mechanic (we'll put some hints as to what it is in the next update log — stay tuned!). We'll be adding five new levels to the "Nothing New" group next week. We'll also be adding some new features for 3D touch over the next few weeks.

We added five really cool new levels to the "Skipping Danger" level group. I'm not just saying really cool because I needed to put an adjective there — the levels are actually really awesome, and you should go play them... like right now...
We didn't really add very much else in this update. There's only four more updates before there's 135 levels in Skiplit! Yay! After that, we'll be adding another level group with an awesome new mechanic — you'll have to wait to see, though (We might put the name of the group in an upcoming update log, so make sure to read it)! We might also post some teasers on Twitter as it comes closer, so make sure to follow us on Twitter @SkiplitApp.

If you love Skiplit, we'd really appreciate it if you reviewed us on the App Store or shared us with your friends! You could also, yea know, send us some chocolate or something. We like chocolate.
We added five new levels to the "No Color" group. We're a few days behind, on our promised update-per-week — sorry! We'll make it up to you by making the first level in the "Nothing New" group easier. Just to clarify, we're doing it because we were behind on our promise. It's not like we would have done that anyways or anything.
We're working on some awesome new updates, so stay tuned and remember to follow us on Twitter @SkiplitApp for stuff. Cool stuff. Lots of it.

That's about it. We're working on adding some awesome new features, so stay tuned! Remember to follow us on Twitter @SkiplitApp for tips, tricks, updates, and more!
