How to Play Sky-jo:
Every player has 12 hidden cards(3x4).Two are turned face up.On your turn you can take the top card from the discard or draw pile. You can exchange one card(hidden or open) from your display. Round ends when one player has only open cards. All cards will be revealed. Add the number of the card for scoring. Game ends when one player has 100 or more points. Whoever has the lowest number wins.So beware, keep a close eye on the game and be cautious and wary of the other player’s actions!
Special Rule: Whenever one column of 3 cards all have the same value, they will be discarded and no longer scored

How to PlY:
The first player has a choice to either take the card everyone can see (the top of the discard pile) or take a blind card. If the player choose to pick up the top card from the discard pile that everyone can see they then have to replace that card with any card of their choosing from their deck (blind or open).
If the player chooses to take a blind card from the deck they then look at that card and choose whether or not to replace one of their cards out of their deck (blind or open), if they do they then replace that card and put it on top of the discard pile, if they decide that they do not want the card they picked up they can place that in the discard pile and reveal any one of their blind cards. Player’s turn is over.
Each player takes a turn moving in a clockwise order around the table until the round is over.
As soon as one of the players reveals all of their deck everyone except that player will have one more turn each and the round is then over. Everyone must reveal all their remaining cards, then calculate the amount they have and add it to their score board. If the first person who revealed their deck doesn’t have the lowest score, then their score is doubled (even if it is a tie).
There is one special rule and that is if a player manages to place 3 of the same number in a vertical line then that whole row is then discarded. The triplet is then placed onto the discard pile (after the card the player discarded) giving a big advantage.
After each round the players’ scores are added together and when a player reaches 100 the game is over, and the lowest score wins.

Fun but glitchy
I like the practice, but multiple times the game just exposes my last card without my selecting to do so. This has led me to lose one online game and one offline game that i otherwise would have won. Not a crisis, but unfair, since games require a bet.
Also, the robot’s algorithm is so unrealistic. Not even an 8-year-old would use their programmed strategy.
Again, i do enjoy the practice, but the game could use improvements, especially the glitch involving one’s last card.

Glitchy - it’ll frustrate until you uninstall
Sky-Jo is a fun, low-key game and this is a decent attempt to bring it online… but it’s glitchy. Enough that you’ll eventually uninstall it through frustration.
It will disconnect from the server when playing a private table or another party, most of the time about 2/3 through your games. So you never really get to finish. We downloaded it on multiple iPhones and played it in 13 states, 14 different hotels and at home. It’s always the same. So… it’s not the network, it’s the build.
Lastly, it’ll also glitch for a moment at just the right time so you claim or discard the wrong card. Ugh…. It seems to mainly do it with the negative or zero cards, adding to the frustration. This appears to a coding issue as a result.

Scratches SkyJo itch but frustrating
If you are like me and were recently introduced to the card game or generally love it and just want to be able to play more, this is obviously a good outlet. However, it’s pretty frustrating because it takes an insufferable amount of time for the other computer players to take their turns and they also don’t seem especially smart making it too easy to win. Also some of the rules seem suspect compared to the actual card game. If there were a paid version with no ads and better gameplay, I would never play this game again. But as far as I know there’s not, so excuse me while I dive in.

Needs improvement!
Our family loves playing Skyjo so I was excited to find this app. The concept is good but there are many areas that need improvement. The game moves slowly, especially if there is a player who decides to leave the game mid play. The rules are a little different from the original card game. It also randomly ends the game and gives the win to the wrong player…this has happened to me several times when I was by far the lowest scorer. I think a lot of the “online players” are app generated players because they always have the same name such as Delta, Beta, Charlie. It’s a great concept and hopefully will improve!

Good game, but has some kinks
Overall, the game itself is fun and I enjoy playing it. However, the gameplay as shown in the app makes it impossible to “love”. The reasons I have noted this impossibility include:
(1) Perpetual disconnection when playing online with friends. Typically the game will last past 1st round, but always has opponent turn very delayed and eventually disconnect where the game must be restarted.
(2) Inability to message during gameplay, even from present content. This is a major bummer since even preset messages allow for the gameplay to be more fun and personal.
(3) Inability to see row + column layout of opponent. This prevents player from making the best decision versus what opponent is trying to accomplish.
(4) When one selects the discard pile to replace a card, they do not have the ability to unselect the option. The player is FORCED to replace a card, even if they do not want to.
These being fixed would allow for at least a 4 star rating, potentially 5.

so close to being perfect
I’ve been obsessed with playing Sky-Jo IRL so I was excited to find an online version. There are definitely some issues in terms of bugs or the app crashing in the middle of a game. I also don’t fully see the point of the $ in the game. I honestly just wish more people played this game so I didn’t have to play with the AI as much! overall, it has helped with my strategy and for satisfying my Sky-Jo itch when I am alone.

Bad glitches that interrupt completing a game!
While playing in a private room with my friends and family it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get through a complete game! There are TONS of “glitches” and we have to get out of the game, quit it and restart a whole new game! It’s maddening and makes us look for other games!
We love sky-jo! We just need the technical glitches “mis-cues” to be ironed out and fixed so we can enjoy a full game together when we are apart!

I play this to help pass time - on the treadmill etc. but I don’t like that it keeps going and plays for you if you have to step away or talk to someone or something. Annoying. So I have to exit the app if I need to stop for just a moment. And it also doesn’t always keep your last game saved and so you can’t pick up where you left off. Also the computer players you play against aren’t the smartest players.

I LOVE this game. The game itself is fun. For anyone who doesn’t know the game, I heard it’s allot like the card game golf.

However i give 2 floating stars 💫💫
💫On online mode I’m almost positive I’m playing with auto bots. It seems there is not enough people playing the game, I would like more/different opponents to help build my strategy as I’m new at the game and also simply because the bots are predictable
💫I would love customization with deck color, theme, font, and/or back of card. Last and least, an option to add friends on the game for better online experience.

Games whacked
I love Sky Joy and I want to like this app. The scoring is all whacked out. I don’t go out yet somehow my score doubles, triples, or quadruples. How is this possible? I know if you play the last card and you don’t have the lowest score your points are doubled but I’m not going out. You need to explain the scoring in game. Even the directions are very short and don’t explain much. I’ve played this game at home and nowhere in the directions say any scores double, triple or quadruple other than the player who goes out’s score doubles if they don’t have the lowest score. PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME!
