This game made me uncomfortable. I know, it looks like something to relax you. However, what made me uncomfortable about this game is the feature where sincere “regrets” that people have submitted to the developer are cast across the screen at the end. The presentation of these little notes is done so in a heart melting and nostalgic way. Let’s just say that it’s done so in a way which can make a grown man sob.
But this is a good thing. Once I got honest with myself about this discomfort and took these sentimental notes seriously, they began hitting me hard. We all have deep, heart wrenching regrets that alter the course of our lives. If only we could all confess them to the world and find commonality in our shared pain. The world would certainly be a better place. This game is an artful, poignant, and charming gesture towards achieving such a world; if only for a brief moment in which you’re alone, at your phone, looking for a way to pass the time.
