Drawsomethingmaniac,
A beautiful experience
This is such a beautifully made app! I love Max Richter’s Sleep album and has made one of the tracks my alarm every morning haha. I was excited to try this app and was blown away by how beautiful it is. I was obsessed with the graphics of the surface of the moon and couldn’t stop myself from staring at it lol. It was surprisingly calming. I tried it for a quick 5 min meditation and it was so much better than meditating without it. It kind of provided a sense of security and mood so that I could focus on my breathing, scanning my body etc. The whole quarantine situation has been stressful and distracting for me, and an app like this is so helpful as it calms me down and gives me some much needed head space. Can’t wait to try the sleep and focus features!
Bizzmabelle,
Best sleep/mediation app
If you love Max Richter’s music you will love this app. Beyond his music though the aesthetics and functionality are by far much nicer than any other app I have tried. The planets that rotate are so calming (and apparently tied to actual planet movement where you are?) and the app falls asleep with you.. gradually decreasing in volume and turning itself off. In the morning it slowly increases in volume. If adapts to what you enjoy, so if you increase the volume on a song, it will play it more often, if you skip a song, it will take it out. I love this.... so much.. it’s so calming to start my day and end my day with. The “Focus” setting is great for working. Overall an intuitive, sleek, functional and beautifully rendered app. Thank you!!!

The (free!) app you seek
Have you been searching for the right meditation and/or sleepscape sounds? This is the app you seek.

This app is similar to Portal with its vivid soundscapes separated by intents: sleep, escape (meditate), & focus. Within these there are subset options for the volume, content mix, duration, and sound shape (plus mire).

All of this is wrapped in a beautifully-designed package that is minimal and gorgeous. The more I’m you use the app, the further you traverse within its digital solar system as a soft push to continue using. Thankfully, that’s never tied to paying more or a subscription. Everything (so far) is free, and that’s what truest separates “Sleep” as an app focused on your health, not their business.
Kenji Summers,
Important that you read this
I have meditated over 1000 days in a row and this app is the first that gives me goosebumps after a session. I just ed the Focus setting to read a chapter from the Meditative Mind by Dan Goleman and will be using this app every time I need to read while outside in the busy streets of NYC.

If you have not already listened to the 8-hr Sleep album then how do you Sleep? Stop sleeping and go to your digital music service platform and listen tonight!
terceiro,
A lifesaver
I've used this app for a while on my mobile devices, but only just discovered that I can use it on my Mac. I'm so grateful—this has been an enormous help in keeping me focused to get work done. Max Richter deserves every penny he earns off of streaming for this (however few those happen to be). I would have paid (a one-time fee, at least) for this, had they asked.

Transformative
As someone who has synesthesia, I’ve always been a fan of Max Richter’s work. This app sweeps you away, taps into your brain somehow and both hypnotizes and soothes. I cannot recommend it enough. It seems simple. So simple but yet it is something I did not know I needed. I don’t even view it as an app, it is one of the greatest services rendered on a phone. Thank you.
ally 🙈😉😊❤️,
A literal dream
Have been waiting for something like this: a free app for sleeping and relaxing. Don’t get why people have to charge big subscriptions for these when it could just be beautiful, simple and free. Thank you Max Richter and team for the wonderful product.

A soothing balm
What a lovely surprise. I have several sleep apps, but never heard such lovely music from one. I had to look up Max Richter, and found that he composed that beautiful song from the movie Arrival and many more.

The app is gorgeous, especially the planetary animations. What a fitting companion to the music of Sleep. I drifted to sleep yesterday with music from the app, and found that I had ‘arrived’ on Mars as of the morning.

The music is so beautiful, and so unique. It’s not white/brown/pink noise, and it’s not machine music - it’s real human written music.

Highly recommended.
madrush,
Beautiful, though with some glitching
The app and the music are beautiful; however, I am experiencing playback issues over both Wi-Fi (Airplay 2) and Bluetooth, with skipping and interruptions occurring every few minutes, apparently when the tracks loop or transition. I’m hoping a new update fixes that.
SirCC,
Almost perfect
I love that they did this and it’s beautifully done. However, I wish they’d expand the airplay device menu to match Spotify’s, as I use google speakers, which obviously don’t have airplay support. I also think it’s odd regardless that they require this link - why not just build the album into the app itself.
