Do you have trouble sleeping? The Sleep Sounds app will lull you to sleep in no time with a great collection of nature sounds and relaxing music to choose from. Sounds can be played individually or mixed together, with the added ability to adjust each individual volume level to your liking.
In addition to helping you sleep better, these sounds are also perfectly suited for general relaxation and meditation.

Would be a 5 star app...but
This app is really good. I would have given it 5 stars but there’s one thing about it that is irritating and the cause for a lesser rating. When you go to set the timer, advertisements pop up with very loud & startling music that you have to endure until the 5 or 10 second count down is over. I use this app because I need help falling asleep so, when I feel myself getting a bit sleepy I turn on this app to help me drift from sleepy to actually sleeping. Obviously a loud startling advertisement gives the opposite effect. I sent an email to the developers to see if there was an option to purchase a version without ads...no reply. Perhaps they ignored my email altogether. Perhaps they tested this out during a busy day with a lot going on which makes the ads not seem so loud, but in the stillness and quiet of night/bedtime, it’s like getting into your car and turning it on after your teenager used it with the radio blasting. I’ve only had/used this app 3 times, hoping to get used to it but, now I’m on the hunt for a better app.

The best
This app is perfect for tuning out distractions. I use this when I need to focus for hours on work, reading, studying, and writing. It provides a soothing amount of background noise. I paid for the full version (only a couple of dollars) and it has been worth it. I especially love the train cabin and airplane drone. I set a lower volume for these sounds and layer them with rain, storm, and ocean. My volume preferences are saved so I don't have to reset them every time. The ocean sound is perfect, with waves rumbling on a beach and water rolling back while gently tumbling over rocks. Yes, the graphics are simple, but that is an important quality for something that is supposed to be soothing and relaxing. This app is easy to use and the simple appearance helps to minimize distraction and sets the tone for calming your mind.

A good one
One of the only apps I've had on my phone the entire time I've had it. Rain and Storm sounds mix well together and is relatively realistic sounding. I've considered purchasing the premium version multiple times, but can wait the handful of seconds for the ad to pass in order to set the sleep timer. Overall, it does what it's supposed to do and is a great aid when you're trying to fall asleep.

Upgrade purchase won't sync between devices
Okay, look, this app is great... but only if I stick to my phone. I purchased the upgrade to remove ads and unlock more sounds on my phone ages ago, but whenever I try to restore the purchase via my iPad, it tries to prompt me to make the purchase all over again. With most apps, if you make a purchase on one device, that also applies to any other devices that use your iCloud account, but that doesn't appear to be the case here. So as I mostly use the unlockable sounds and don't have much use for the free ones by themselves, the iPad app is pretty much a waste of space for me. Please fix this.

Thx! But, I Have A New One...
I see that you have read my previous review! Thx for doing that! No app that I have ever written a review for has not yet responded. Anyway, I see that you fixed the loading screen! But that night, I went to my mom and dad’s room and they downloaded a better one for me. I forgot what it’s called but you can create mixes of up to 6 sounds and all sounds are free! I am currently listening to my usual, forest (Birds In A Forest), river (River In Scotland), and fire (Crackling Fireplace). I loved this app but I may use the new one a bit more and see which one I like better. Thank you for reading! If you have questions or concerns, please let me know via response to this review! Glitchy and Rude
I have used this app since 2015. A week or so ago, I opened it and found that it was trying to charge me a second time for the extra sounds/no ads package that I had bought several years ago. I received no response. I emailed again, suggesting that if I did not receive a response I would get a lawyer involved because I do not appreciate not receiving a service that I paid for. Rory, the developer, sent me a rude email in response that did not actually give me a solution to continue using the app with the features I had paid for. With so many sleep sounds options on the market, I will switch to one where I feel respected and don’t have to threaten legal action to get a response to what I had assumed would be a minor problem.

Reminds me of home
The cricket noise reminds me of the summer nights at home. I have a hard time falling asleep but since I found this app I am relaxing quicker and falling asleep a lot faster than normal. I have checked other apps but they just weren't right. They just sounded like a bunch of crickets sitting in front of a microphone. This one sounds like a clear summer night with crickets all around the property; some close and some near. This is what I remember hearing when I would go to sleep as a child. ❤️ love it!! Only draw back is the loop is so short. You can tell when it starts and ends.

Ads are horrible!!!
Loud loud ads on a program designed to help you sleep, when you click on anything! The app has some nice features. I’ve had it for years, but lately the ads are completely ridiculous. I start it when I go to bed and sometimes I need to adjust the volume on a sound after a bit and BLAM super loud ad waking up my wife, and of course with those impossible to close buttons. I honestly don’t recall if I ever paid to remove the ads, had it for a long time, but they definitely make the app unusable now. Also, it would be nice to be able to save sound/volume combinations. I always had it play Rain, Storm, and Wind but with Storm and Wind way lower, but it always resets them back up.

The quality is good
I like to have pleasant ambient sound while I sleep. Among my favourite sounds are night time crickets (which Yankees think are better than cicadas) and thunderstorms. Some free apps let you choose one or another to be played alone. With this app you can play 2 or more with separate volume controls for each sound. So, you can have your rain and your crickets too and mix your own sound level. Sometimes my cats are frightened by the real thing, and they can tell the difference.

I sleep like a baby now
I was having issues with falling asleep and shutting down my brain so I could sleep. My son told me about this app and he raved about it. I’ve been using this app for a year now and I get the best sleep. I used this with my then 2 year old granddaughter and within 5 minutes she was fast asleep. Her mother now uses this for herself and my granddaughter. Love it.
