Description

Slow Fast Slow is an app for manipulating the speed of videos you shoot on your iPhone. It works especially well with slo-mo videos. Use the intuitive interactive timeline to slow down or speed up your videos. Additionally, you can add pitch control, as well as clip reversal.

• Import videos from your Photo Library.
• 240 fps videos (iPhone 6 and 6 Plus) can be slowed down to 1/16 speed, which is twice as slow as the built in camera app.
• Pitch Control: Retain the correct audio pitch even when the video is sped up or slowed down.
• Backwards playback.
• Add and remove points to adjust the timeline.
• Export videos in the original ratio or square.
• Requires iOS 10.

Version history

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

- Added a new Studio Neat Store. Now you can purchase many of our products, right in the app with Apple Pay.
- Reversed the ordering of the home grid. The latest project is now listed first.
- Various visual design tweaks.
2.2
2015-01-11
- Adjacent points now snap to the same vertical position. This makes it easier to have sections of your timeline at a flat, consistent speed.
- When you move a point on the timeline, you can now see the exact speed at that point, and the overall duration of the video.
- Tweaked the speed algorithm.
- Fixed export bugs.
- Redesigned the "Glif Ad," and added the ability to buy a Glif directly in the app with Apple Pay (iPhone 6 and 6 Plus only).

If you are enjoying Slow Fast Slow, we sure would appreciate a review in the App Store! We will never bug you for a review from within the app.

Dianellys,
Great but constantly being pulled from cloud
I absolutely love this app, I use it all the time and it's great. However, it's always telling me that it's pulling my videos down from the cloud. That itself isn't an issue, its just that it says this every time I open the app. It loads a video, I close the app, then when I open it back up it says it has to pull it down again. This is very irritating when I'm not connected to internet or when I'm in public because it just won't load and I can't watch my video. Please fix this! If this issue was resolved, this app would be a 5/5 without a doubt. Thank you!

Great Free App That Truly Works Well
I’ve tried other apps to speed up my videos and they stop at 4x speed increase, lose my HD video quality, and just don’t work that well. This one is a really good app — it’s easy to import and export videos and allows for multiple points you can put in a video to speed up/slow down certain points. This one allows up to 8x speed increase of the imported video, so for faster ones you’ll have to save and import the video again but that’s easy enough. I haven’t seen any ads yet either beyond a quick message when you open the app for first time after downloading then any time after that just a quick small message that you can click on to go to their website or continue with what you’re doing instead of annoying ads that become a nuisance. Definitely recommend this app though! It works great so my videos still have the HD quality and a nice smooth high speed playback after saving the edited video that I then import into iMovie and this works great! I use this as iMovie will only increase a video up to 2x original speed.

Hidden gem
This app does not have the exposure it deserves. It doesnt try to scam you into unlocking or paying for extra features. It does great for slow and fast. Yeah, theres limits but by exporting and re editing, you can surpass the limit. Its easy to use and you can speed up and slow down in one clip. Most other apps i have come across or either or and not both. Honestly, i dont know why this app has more exposure, this is great! Its crashed on me maybe once out for 25-30 uses. Yeah the rendering might take a bit but thats acceptable for the amount it lets you edit per video.

The only thing i would say is a con is that its a bit hard to fine tune on a small phone screen but other than that, i recommend 100%
Evvviieee,
Better than Photos, amazing fine tuning
First off, this app does not push any in app purchases for “unlocking” certain features or packages. That is AMAZING because we are all tired of downloading “free” apps just to realize that the reason for downloading them costs $1.99 to “unlock”. Anyway, this app has a super clean layout that is user friendly (extremely easy to use) and I prefer it 100% over the iPhone Photos app editing of slow motion/videos in general. You can choose the points at which the speed changes and by how much just by dragging the dots (great for visual people like myself) and it also allows you to trim. Can the developers release more editing apps because I will download them all
Doug526,
What I was looking for
I wrote a review previously and the developer responded but the review never showed up here. So I am posting it again. I found this app after going through at least a half dozen scammy ad-ridden video speed apps. This app is actually pretty good and it does what it says. The only downside is the 800% limit. So if you want to make a 4000% faster video you have to make a sped-up video and then import that video and speed it up again. So its just an extra step, big deal! It’s also a nice touch that it gives you a choice to use the chipmunk audio or just sample the regular audio playback speed. 4 out of 5 stars. Almost perfect.

Does its job but...
The infrastructure is maddening. I was surprised to learn that it was developed by a design firm because some functions are completely impractical. Before I even start on a new set of videos I have to erase a bunch of videos that I already have no use for. Also, it asks you to select videos, but first you have to remember to deselect previous videos, and then asks you to select the videos again before you can work on them. It adds much more work than needed. Not a problem if you’re just using the app once in a while, but frustrating if you’re using it everyday for multiple videos.
AnimatorZ,
Amazing!
ABSOLUTELY amazing app. 10/10. This doesn’t give you any ads, no problems, quality, any thing you could ask for. I have a idea that can improve this app. My idea that I’ve always wanted to see was a speed editor where you can select a place where you want the speed to go. For example, One Half of the screen is Slow While the other would be fast, or The Vibrating Hand move from Cw’s the Flash! This would make the app 1000 times better than it already is! Other than that, Outstanding app.
Gidora,
Perfect!
I tried half a dozen different apps to speed up some time lapse videos and this was the only one that worked flawlessly, without glitches, ransom or persistent ads. SPEED PRO seemed like a contender but being hit with 10 ads within 30 sec was a nightmare! Others couldn't import/export in ORIGINAL FORMAT which is crucial if you're working in iOS. I like their business model, which involved perusing thru other other apps they make briefly at launch. I can live with it as long as I know what to anticipate.
moonchild♪,
Great!
So Since yesterday, Ive been trying to look for apps to slow down videos. And for almost all of them, You have to pay. And I think its not fair To pay $7 Just to slow down a video. And When i found this app. It just made it easier! It’s totally free! No in app purchases! Its very easy To edit! Its just exactly what I was looking for. Don’t waste your money on other apps just to slow down videos. Download this app! I very recommend if you want to make slow edits. Or just For fun!
Rob214,
Been too long since last update - Good for 1080P resolutions videos or lower
This app had long been my favorite for editing the speed of slow motion (high speed) and even normal speed videos where I’m looking to do custom adjustments and variations of speed. It was elegant in using curves to gracefully ramp up or down the speed of the video. Exactly what I wanted. However, while it can take in a 4K video, it exports only 1080P / HD video, at 30 FPS. I’d love to see this app updated to support higher resolutions, and a selection of FPS (24, 25, 30, 50, and 60).

This app has served me well for a long time, but with 4K being a popular resolution, I need to find a new app if this one won’t be updated.
