Description

FEATURED TWO TIMES IN ITUNES PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PROFESSIONALS COLLECTIONS.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS APP IS NOT A CAMERA APP. THIS APP DOES NOT CONTROL YOUR PHONE'S CAMERA.

Slower Shutter is the long exposure calculator that is a must-have for any landscape photographer who is shooting with ND filters to slow down the movement in their photo.

Simply enter the shutter speed for an exposure without a ND filter and then select the strength of your ND filter. Slower Shutter will then calculate the correct shutter speed for the correct long exposure time for up to 16 stops of ND.

Added support for the iPhone X and improved support for iOS 11. Users of iPhone SE, iPhone 6/6s, iPhone 7/7 Plus and iPhone 8/8 Plus may see slight user interface improvements now that Slower Shutter is fully utilizing the iOS Auto Layout functionality.

1. Most requested feature - the countdown timer now works in the background.

2. You will now receive a notification when there are only 10 seconds left on the timer and Slower Shutter is in the background.

3. Added instructions for how to use Slower Shutter with your camera.

4. Fixed a bug that displayed the incorrect shutter speed for all ND strengths when the initial shutter speed was 1/50th of a second.

5. Added a preference to be notified when the countdown timer is up by either an audible alert or via vibrating the iOS device.
1.1
2014-07-22
Based on feedback and user requests, I've added the following features in version 1.1 of Slower Shutter.

1. Support for up to 16 stops of neutral density.

2. The iOS device will vibrate when the timer reaches zero.

3. You can now start and stop the countdown timer by tapping directly on the countdown timer. The first time you start the countdown, double-tap on the timer. Tap again to stop the timer and tap again to start it again.

The "Start Timer" button has been removed now that this functionality has been added.

4. The alert message has been updated if you try to set the timer when the calculated shutter speed is less than 4 seconds.

Chaeb1i,
Been using it for years. Just a minor change in the UI would be great.
I've been happy with how straightforward this app is. If there's only one change I would do, it would be the placement of the info button. Currently, it is below the Set Timer and there are times that I've hit it by accident and it brings up that little tutorial menu. When you click Done to go back to the calculator, everything resets. Perhaps place it on one of the upper corners? Or anywhere else that your fingers wouldn't normally hover unless you intend to.
wlk17,
Great app.
I am revising previous review. Phone issue was causing this app not to work. Works fine now. Used the app and thing worked fine. Nd photos were great! Thanks!
AlienTrader - Review,
Slow Shutter is a Great App
I don't understand why some reviewers are complaining. This App plainly states exactly what it is for AND what it will and will not do, in the description. I use it for what its made for and it is pretty much spot on, with the information I need to shoot long exposure photography. I rate it a solid 5.
PexMan,
Great App - People need to learn to read
This App is perfect. Does exactly what it is supposed to do - be a calculator for exposure times. Simple. Don't listen to the bad reviews from people that don't know how to read or use their camera. Wow. I cannot believe how stupid some are.
Eddie_789,
Nice app
Great app. I'm using this app all the time with my canon 5d for slow shutter photos.
JTdesign,
Not what I thought it was
When I first heard about this, I thought it allowed you to take slow-shutter shots with your iPhone, but it appears to be an exposure calculator with a timer that I don’t understand how to use along-side a DSLR camera. Don’t buy this if you think you’re going to take a picture with it.
Kdubrichard,
Bit misleading
As with a previous review, I thought this was a shutter speed app for the iPhone. It's not, it's for use in conjunction with a DLSR and ND filters. Glad it was only 99¢ but that was 99¢ I could have spent on a dollar menu somewhere.
