SmartMike+ - Vlog&teleprompter Hack 2.8.4 + Redeem Codes

The app has the right pieces but is buggy with video and has had a tendency of distorting audio on both audio and video mode in auto mode. Lost two interviews in two days. The app seems to get unstable after just a ten minutes of video recording. Lost a couple of hours of interview footage. It never rendered the file completely but took up gigs of space. It clearly is not using the right codecs... a ten minute video at 1080p should not eat that much space on the device. This makes the video function unusable for any serious use. I have 2 smart mike + devices and use an iPhone 11 plus Max. The app worked great until last update. Now it has caused me to revert back to using my other lav mics and a 3D Ambeo headset... considering the app renders the hardware useless if it malfunctions I May have to return the mics and go with RØDE Go mics... please get it together on the app. You have great hardware which deserves it.

The app also needs better file organization structuring and backup options like back up to cloud services due to file sizes and multi file projects.

I was so excited to learn about this microphone because I needed reliable equip that connects to my iPhone. Before this microphone, I had to cary around a big clunky microphone. This one is so cute and tiny but still has good audio. I have not tried it in the m/s mode yet but the app is simple and easy to use. It took a while to see how to change it from video mode to audio mode. But once I figured that out, the rest was pretty easy. I also like that the video in the app has skin smoothing features which really help to even out complexions. I also like the you can move the captions to different places. A more detailed user guide would be nice or an unboxing video. Your social media live rep was very informative and she made the mike seem less intimidating. I am looking forward to more how to information from the company. Also I ordered two mics and was told to request the connector cord. A did send the request right after I ordered the mic but the connector cord has not arrived yet. I wish the captions were able to be seen as you are recording and not just after the recording. But I am glad that the button on the mic allows you to easily toggle between front and back camera for recording.

I was so excited to get this mic since i do a lot of on the fly interviews and been using my iphone more and more instead of my camera rig. Problem is when I download video from app, it does not download accompanying audio. I tried playing around with it and to no avail. It’s useless. I think i’m going to have to return this mic and buy another one from their competition. I finally realized that I have to download videos via wifi instead of difect to iphone for audio and video to be sync together.

The sound is good buy when it comes to rhe video, it’s very choppy. Watching the video back, I was so disappointed as the video seems like it sputters kind of like the days when the internet would play videos sputtering. I felt like i recorded video using an old smartphone that would record the video choppy. I did shoot in medium quality. Maybe I should of switched the video quality to high. I guess i’ll have wait for a better app to come out

I use this app for my self-tape auditions and I love it! I’ve been using it for a year now after my husband got me a lav mic that supports this app. The audio is impeccable and it picks up my voice over the hustle and bustle noises of NYC during filming. HOWEVER, the in-app camera filters (smoothing, lighting, etc) that work in real time are amazing!! I can completely adjust the visual tone for dramatic vs comedic self-tapes with just one swipe! It gives my tapes such a professional look while being completely user friendly. They also added a teleprompter feature recently, by far the best teleprompter app I’ve used ever. It has so many speed, size and screen placement options. Your self-tape set up is everything when it comes to booking work and this app single handedly solves several technical challenges. Can’t say enough great things about this app!!

The mic itself works pretty well especially for the price.
The app is horrible.
If you create a product that is semi-professional (and it actually is) you want an app that goes with it. This one doesn’t.
Since the mic doesn’t work with some app (iphone video recorder) or works poorly with others (the gain is always at the max with filmic pro), you HAVE to use it with the smartmike+ app.
When it comes to sound it’s ok (as in not great but good enough) but the video side of the app is abysmal:
-no white balance control.
-every time you switch lens you have to reactivate (on then off then on) the stabilization or your footage won’t be stabilized.
-exposure control can’t be more basic
-focus control as well.
-no peaking
-no zebras
- vu meters only show up when you are recording
- etc...
Basically you get a poor version of the iphone video app.

Overall good concept, not a great build but it can do the job in some situations (I’m thinking ITV in a car for exemple.). If the app was good this combo would be brilliant.

I would’ve given Smartmike+ five stars and the reason why is the inability to integrate 3rd party video apps with one mic. Forcing users into Filmic Pro to use the Smartmike+ isn’t cool. I assumed I could use the iPhone video app with one Smartmike+ was enough.

Unfortunately, I was wrong. You need to have two Smartmike+ microphones to use your phone’s video app. I wasn’t happy about buying another mic. I wish this was known before I purchased the first one.

The good news is the customer service was really helpful and helped me buy the second mic (at a discount) and added more value on the backend. Besides, having two mics is better than one and you can use them with your laptop, DSLR, smartphones, and your smartphone’s video app without a hitch.

The App needs to drop the recordings straight to iPhoto. I’m seriously bummed that it needs their software at all. The microphone should just pair to the device and use the devices recording mechanism like Camera and Voice Recording unless it’s better than what comes with the phone. But at the very least it should be able to drop the files straight to iPhoto just like the drone apps and so many other apps can already do. $165 dollarsShould at the very least buy you that no more of this drop to your file cloud or some other antiquated uncomfortable impossible way just drop the files straight to my iPhoto.

I've had this mic for a couple of weeks now, I really like the mic itself. I've had some issues with customer service not responding. Like many other reviewers here there is no tutorial and no support from anyone at the company. I am having issues with none of my videos recording in 4k even though phone settings and app settings are 4k. I was told it's storage issues on my phone. The app doesn't have anyway to for you to transfer video except through a download link. There so many things wrong with this app - I hope that there are improvements that will be made.

These are user friendly both hardware and app, but my sound quality is quite inconsistent. Two mics, one is always louder with a softer more crackly one that clips and pops. I updated the firmware and app version and the mics reversed, the poor quality one sounds great now and the good one now sounds terrible. Customer service has been fairly responsive, but has refused several requests to return the setup, always instead telling me to adjust my settings or update etc etc. I'm done with these and just want a refund!

Media producer here, combination is Smartmike and this basic app are perfect for my use - most of what I shoot will go into post so want something that will stay out of the way and let me get good picture (which phone does) and good audio. Quick to set up, some manual controls if needed, results very good. No issues with crashes or bugs so far, after more experience will return if update needed. So far the mics meet my needs as a professional. Very pleased with the tech.
