PROGRESS REVIEWS:
We’ve also redesigned our review screen to really unlock the power of regularly reviewing progress with your kids. Now this tool is much more powerful, with a new summary section that shows your child’s progress since the last review, a more complete history of behaviors and rewards, and a simple way to reset the scoreboard count to give your child a fresh shot at success! And we’ve even added Review Reminders, to help you get into a groove here.

We’ve taken three big steps here to improve the user experience for you:
– We’ve introduced a new “info module” design that groups key information clearly throughout the app, making everything easier to read at a glance.
– We’ve added quick-slide toolbars that bring the tools you need right to you, right when you need them. This makes everything – from giving out rewards to editing your boards – faster and easier than ever before.
– We’ve introduced an all new onboarding wizard that makes creating your first board – and every board after – much easier. We've also added a way for you to preview our pre-built behavior lists, so you can see what Around the House, Chores & More and Teacher's Helper have to offer.

Adding people to your behavior boards – your kids, as well as parents and guardians – is a key to making good behavior a team effort. With our new slider tools, you’ll see how easy adding new and existing users can be.

Awarding Smiles and Frowns for behavior has always been easy, but now editing and adding new custom behaviors to your list can now be done in seconds with one of our handy new slide-down editors. Tuning your behavior list to your families exact needs now is a much more natural part of the flow.
REWARDS:
Our totally redesigned rewards interface makes it super easy for kids to see the value of their hard-earned Smiles. Our new Rewards Ring shows in a glance how far your child’s spending smiles go towards each reward. By tapping one each reward, kids can see how close they are to earning each, and how many they can get if they have enough Smiles. It’s fast, fun and really helps kids understand the relative value of their Smiles. And spending smiles is easier, too!
PROGRESS REVIEWS:
We’ve also redesigned our review screen to really unlock the power of regular reviewing progress with your kids. Now this tool is much more powerful, with a new summary section that shows your child’s progress since the last review, a more complete history of behaviors and rewards, and a simple way to reset the scoreboard count to give your child a fresh shot at success! And we’ve even added Review Reminders, to help you get into a groove here.
KIDS VIEW AND KIDS REQUESTS:
We’re continuing to evolve the functionality of Smiles & Frowns: Kids View, the companion app that lets you kids connect with their boards from their own screens. Now, managing Kids View and Kids Requests for your whole family is now easy to do on one screen, which you’ll find in your Settings menu. It’s a great way to engage you kids like never before.
BOARD SET-UP AND EDITING:
We’ve introduced a new board setup wizard that makes creating a new board a snap. It walks you through adding your people, behaviors and rewards to a new board in minutes. It also gives you the option to set review reminders to help keep your kids excited and engaged.

Back by Popular Demand! This release follows fast on the heals of our previous update, and restores the “rollover spending smiles” feature. This feature allows you to swipe left on any child’s row and reset the Smile and Frown counts to zero without changing the number of Spending Smiles they’ve earned so far. It’s a great way to give your kids a fresh start and a new challenge every week, every month, or whenever you like... while still letting them save Smiles to spend later. Using this app in the classroom
My 4th grade students like the visual and their parents appreciate it too! They like to compete against themselves to have more smiles than frowns. They haven’t even earned a reward yet, but that’s not even what’s motivating them. They are motivated to have more smiles than frowns to make me and their parents proud. Note: I only use this with 4 of my students who need extra motivation to make better choices.

Helps with positive reinforcement
Our kids are intense and have some extra needs and any sort of scolding backfires big time, especially for our middle guy. This app has helped us be positive and look for positive behaviors and reward the things we like to see. The kids like how they can get different kinds of rewards and they feel good about themselves because we are mentioning positive things more than negative. It has helped us improve the family dynamic. Customer support was helpful for me for a little glitch I encountered. It’s obvious that the company is run by folks who believe in their product and hope it will benefit humans out there :) It has definitely helped us! For us an app is easier than a sticker chart or marble jar or something. When I don’t want to bring out the phone I jot the smiles down on scrap paper and add them later. But if I lose track of a few the kids don’t realize (don’t tell them!) and we still get the emotional benefit. I catch most of them though :)

My kids love earning smiles and it’s a great way to review the day and talk about the choices the kids made especially when they get frowns! I also love that I can add a comment about what was happening at the time to remind me to revisit and discuss the behavior later. It’s great for setting goals for the next day and talking about specific areas they can improve. It gets them to be more responsible for their behavior as well as reflect on their choices. The only thing this app is missing is I would love a sound effect to go with the smiles to get the kids even more excited so it’s like a mini celebration when they do good. We have one of those expensive good timers and this is so much more convenient on the go and gives much better feedback on their behavior !

Behavior Management App
I found this great app to promote a more positive approach to behavior management. I have two high energy children who are creative and independent so I wanted to find something that was visual, behavior specific and rewards based so that I could promote positive behavior without “dulling their sparkle” with negative feedback. I want them to grow and learn appropriate behavior but I don’t want them to see me as the “Mommy Police” especially since I am a single parent.
My kids are loving earning their smiles and are willing to talk about their sad faces. Working towards those special treats, outings and toys has them very excited!

Great. Easy to use. Instant reward.
My almost 4 and almost 6 year old girls love this app. We were having some discipline issues with the girls not following directions the first (or second) time they were given. Now, receiving a smile for “first time listening” and good behavior has drastically improved things over the last week since using the app. We have no other rewards attached, just simply receiving a positive smile has them behaving better and wanting to do things to earn more smiles. :)

Perfect family helping app
We were looking for an app to keep track of our kids being helpers and good listeners. I tried 4 apps before finding ‘smiles & frowns’. It is perfect!!! I can create my own dashboard. I can add smiles as my kids earn them throughout the day. Then, at the end of the day, i can reset the smiles for tomorrow, but they bank each days smiles for future rewards. So, we never lose track of how many smiles each child earns. Perfect app for any family!

Great idea!
We’ve been on this for two days now. So far, it’s working great to motivate my 12 and 8 year old daughters! The only thing is I wish they had a slightly “older kid” version instead of smiles and frowns - maybe thumbs up and down? The last two days we’ve had a noticeable reduction in outbursts, fights, and improvement on their attitudes 👏🏻👏🏻 thank you! I will update in a month on our progress!

Great app tor encouraging good behavior
I got this app for my 4 year old daughter and use it to help her collect happy faces for good behavior which will result in rewards once she’s amounted her happy faces. She also collects sad faces for unwelcomed behavior... She has learned since I started using the app, that if shes about to get a sad face, she can pull herself together and turn that sad face into a happy face by correcting her behavior. It’s a win win for me!

Buggy Lately
Was working fine for a while then logged me out. Tried to sign back in gave me the message
“the data couldn’t be read because it Isn’t in the correct format” tried creating a new account and the same message appeared. Also I find it alarming that there isn’t a “forgot password?” To assist in recovering an account through email if I forget the password. I spent a good amount of time creating the perfect custom layout and rewards and I would rather not have to do it again.

Liked it but now locked out
Used this for a year or so. Liked spending system for rewards. Tried to give husband access and in the long process ended up not being able to change password, trying to use “forgot password” option but got an error message stating my email format was invalid. But when try to set up new account using that exact same email, for a message saying that account already exists. Don’t want to set up a new account anyway since setting goals and behaviors is VERY time consuming and not user-friendly.
