Description

Best game of 2016 in France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland!

What is the longest possible length a bird can be? Obviously a question only all the fruit in the world can answer! But where could all this fruit be hiding? Follow Redbird, Greenbird and Bluebird on a quest for an amount of fruit beyond any birds wildest dreams.

Snakebird is a very simple but deceptively challenging puzzle game about assuming the right shapes for the task at hand, be it pushing, lifting, teleporting or just defying the laws of physics.

jjdude2378,
creator version, and serious level purchase glitch
I love this game and unfortunately i found a glitch that lets you unlock the rest of the levels without paying. i don’t remember how i did it and it wasn’t intentional but if you just play around with it you can finagle the game into thinking you purchased the other levels.

The last part was just trying to help. anyway the creator version i mean could be something where we could create our own levels. it should cost the same price as purchasing the rest of the normal levels. it would be really fun it there could be a way to share the levels we make too but we have to complete them first similar to geometry dash or Kami 2.
i really do enjoy this game and hope you guys fix the level purchase glitch because i assume you could be losing a lot if profit from it. sorry i don’t remember too much on how it works though. (also could someone ask apple to make a way to find reviews that you’ve previously made because i cant usually, i might not even be able to see a dev response to this even though i get a notification from it). thanks

Incredible
This game is unbelievable. It's hard to find a truly challenging puzzle game, and this one is by far the most enjoyable and unique one out there. Anybody who says "there should've been more explanation" or "a better tutorial" obviously only cares about how fast they can beat the game, and aren't patient enough to take the time to enjoy figuring out the complex physics and strategy of the game. Figuring out how it all works and learning new strategies is where most of the fun lies within this game. There are PLENTY of levels in this game, because many of them take hours to figure out. The level of intelligence these guys must've had to create them is amazing. After I downloaded the game, it took me close to three months to finish the game; granted, I didn't play all day every day, but I probably clocked in about 2 hours a day. More than half of them were challenging enough that I "stumbled" upon the solution, which means I can go back and replay all of them without remembering exactly how to do it. The impossible difficulty is what makes this game so fun, and so rewarding when finally beating a level that's taken you so long. I only hope there's another one released, which I would gladly pay $10 for. Incredible game, thank you so much!

Cute game, poor communication
I really wanted to like this game. Its graphics and sounds are adorable and the concept is fun and interesting. Unfortunately, I got stuck pretty early on after the initial set of levels. Actually, I never even beat level 7 or level +1. Because the game allows you to tackle challenges without the proper experience, but doesn’t give you an opportunity to develop skill fast enough, I feel trapped without a walkthrough. I really don’t want to look up solutions, and I haven’t yet (at least not as of me writing this) but I feel like there are some fundamental skills I need that I’m just missing entirely. Often this game feels impossible, but not “fun” impossible. impossible impossible.
In 2 earlier levels, the concept of multiple controllable snake-birds is introduced. It doesn’t, however, teach you how to control one. After killing a sleeping bird, I realized killing birds lets you control them. THIS WAS NOT THE INTENDED LESSON! Because the levels are so strict, this was unacceptable, and it wasn’t until I accidentally tapped a sleeping bird when I learned they can be controlled by tapping. I think if this game had a less sharp difficulty curve, and better communication with the player, it’d be a great puzzle game. Until then, I somewhat regret my purchase.
euclidbeane,
Beautiful game, poorly executed.
Firstly, above anything else, this game is gorgeous. The art is cute without being cloying; the sound design is great; the colors aren't too harsh for extended play. That is far and away my highest praise for this game.

Those who say the game is pleasantly difficult are correct! It's harder than your average puzzle game, and I'm going to go against the tide and say that I find it totally reasonable for them to provide ten levels of this caliber and request payment for more.

So what's my big issue? The game design is. Lacking. To say the least. The first and most important level of any kind of game, but especially an app like this that functions essentially as an ad for the full game, is the tutorial. You have to introduce the player to more than the controls--you have to introduce them to your key concepts, to important mechanics, anything they need to remember or use as the game goes foreword. I don't blame the people who feel the first few levels cannot be beaten. They did not have the rules of the game properly shown to them! This is luckily something easily fixed; hopefully expanded upon in an update?
texasbuckeye,
Great game, disappointing app execution
A tutorial would be nice to help get you started, but with patience it doesn't take long to figure out. The puzzles themselves are fantastic - just the right level of challenging. Very clever and engaging to play.
But here's the problem. You only get a "sampler" of levels 1-10, which is really only 8 games, since for no logical reason, levels 8 and 9 are missing. "In app purchases" is a little misleading; what they really mean is you get a preview and then have to buy the game. I might be willing to pay for it if I knew there would be more than just 45 levels to come...and who knows if all 45 levels are even really there. I really want to like this game thanks to the quality of the levels that are actually here, but there's work to be done on making this customer-friendly.
Hopper2004,
Fantastic and perfectly designed
Some reviews mention a lack of communication of the concepts of the game, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. The game lays down a set of fundamental rules, and through all 50 levels it never strays from those rules.

There aren’t any tricks or “gotcha” puzzles, it’s all about logically deducing the correct path to approach. The game is very forgiving and lets you take your time to solve it. I love this game because I always knew that I could solve the puzzles, I just had to think about it long enough.

That said, this is one of the hardest puzzle games I’ve ever played. The later levels took me days of understanding the layouts to figure it out. But once you do get it, it feels amazing. There are no puzzles where you “stumble” across the solution, you have to know exactly what you need to do. Because of this, I fully understand why some people might not like it because of how challenging it gets.

If you’re looking for a more casual puzzle game where you can go through levels quickly, this game might not be for you. (Especially for younger players) But if you want something that is challenging, yet perfectly fair, a games with puzzles that need to be solved, not found, then I can’t recommend this game enough.

In my opinion it’s one of the most well-made puzzles games of all time, but it’s not for everybody. Try out the free version and see if you like it. If you do, then you’ll love the full version.
iheartnjdevils,
Love this game!
It can be frustrating but in a good way. Too many times I’ve been laying in bed trying to go to sleep when an idea comes to me and I just HAVE to test it out. I beat it awhile ago and am currently attempting it a second time. The reason I deducted 1-star is because I found a bug on stage 42 that allows you successfully complete it by eating both fruit with one snakebird, sacrificing the smaller one by pushing it over the edge and going through the portal. For some reason when the little one goes over the edge, the back button highlights, doesn’t do anything and lets me continue.

UPDATE: I found that the ability to “sacrifice” snakes occurs in just about any level by quickly moving another snake before it resets. What’s more concerning is the glitch was reported by another reviewer over a year ago and hasn’t been fixed. It makes me wonder if it’s because they’d be required to report their privacy practices and don’t want to. As a result, I’ve updated my review from 4-stars to 2-stars.
Scortes_634,
AMAZING GAME!
I downloaded this game yesterday, not thinking much about it, i read some reviews and realized that everyone was complaining because the game doesn’t provide a lot of clues... it’s a STRATEGY/PUZZLE game! It’s not supposed to give you the answers or hints on how to pass a level! The point of this game is to CHALLENGE you brain and see if you are able to figure out how to pass to the next level and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I stayed stuck on level... ahem... 7 for two days hahaha I just barely passed it right now. If you want a game that will be EASY and WONT even CHALLENGE YOU to think outside the box then THIS GAME ISNT FOR YOU... I give props to the creators of the game and the masterminds behind it as well. I know have a game WORTHY of KEEPING and I just got paid today so I’m looking forward for those 45 LEVELS! ❤️
JDubs07,
Adorable, ingenious
Snakebird is an incredibly challenging puzzle game without being frustrating. Despite even very early levels seeming impossible to solve on first attempt, every stage can be beaten and the inclusion of an unlimited undo button lets you retry individual steps as many times as you'd like. There's no timer, just you and the adorable Snakebird, who makes cute faces and sounds as you slide him around the stage: near a fruit and he gazes at it expectantly, sidle up to spikes and he looks extremely worried. This is an amazing puzzle experience if you don't mind being stumped while trial- and- erroring solutions and taking time to figure things out, and it's even more rewarding because the charming Snakebird will wait with you while you do.
Shadow_King3,
Don't listen to the downers
The only reason that this game has so many one star reviews is that people nowadays don't understand the concept of a puzzle game. As of right now I have only played the free levels, but I completed them all after thinking about each one for a few minutes. People now often look at something for two seconds and if they can't figure it out in that span of time then it's clearly impossible. There is a solution to every puzzle in the game and although they may not be easy, that's what a puzzle game is for, to work your mind and make you think for once. I would highly recommend at least giving the free version a try if you enjoy puzzles.
