Young Dielon,
Benchmark for UX/UI
This is the app I use as a benchmark for all other apps. I work as Product Manager and you can just tell they've done, and continue to do, everything right when it comes to building a mobile app. I know for a fact that they did extensive research to understand what their customers needs and wants were when building this app - I've been a long-time customer of their retail stores in Austin and participated in a focus group when they were in the research/build phase. There were probably 5 or more Snap employees that took the time to spend an hour talking just with me. The importance they placed/place on understanding their customers and using that knowledge to build their products around that is as good as I've seen, and it really shows in this amazing app.

Any feature you could possibly want is in it and it's designed so we'll it's still simple to use. The meal plan section is phenomenal. I doubt there is any meal subscription app out there that even comes close to this one.

When I'm in job interviews and get the "tell me about a product you love and why" question this app is my go to.

P.S. Their food rules.
CuppycakeT83,
App is fine, food is basic, shipping it the worst.
The app itself is easy enough to navigate, but could use tweaking - I wasn’t able to track my shipping through the app or even copy the tracking number to pop it into the web browser on my phone. It’s a small annoyance I’d normally ignore but once my order arrived it was so subpar and just an awful experience. It also would not save my apartment number - thankfully our packages go to a mailroom and you get your own, so I was able to get it. Of 12 meals, 7 arrived with busted containers, snapped lids, plastic in the food. I was refunded for them, but immediately cancelled my subscription - such a hassle to wait for food and think you’ve made life easier, and it isn’t. I wish I’d asked for a full refund for the trouble but I didn’t. They apologized and my agent was very friendly and helpful, but there is no wonder why they didn’t arrive safely. The plastic tops are paper thin and they are stacked with heavy ice packs and need more substantial containers. The taste is meh at best of what we’ve been able to salvage.

TLDR: if you like a Lean Cuisine but want half the flavor at three times the price, with better macros but higher calories, and a headache when it arrives, this might just be the food service plan for you. I was frankly shocked to log in and find such high reviews.

Former Happy Customer
Have used snap kitchen in the past and was always happy. Meal were delicious, nutritious, arrived cold if not frozen, with enough cold packs that it could sit for 24 hours or more and still be 100% safe. (Occasionally one or two would be broken from transport)

Now I’ve moved and wanted to try them again. Day of delivery I checked multiple times to see if delivered. Finally at 7pm I figured it wasn’t going to be so had to go get dinner somewhere else vs eat my snap meal.

Package was delivered sometime after 7pm on day of delivery, by the next morning when I had time to go pick up my package the whole thing was at 75°. Contacted customer service and told them what happened and sent photos with the food thermometer reading, email notification of delivery from 12:02am the next day. They said it was delivered on day of delivery. Had to go around with customer service for a while and ask to cancel my next order and refund for current order. Would not cancel and refund the next weeks order even though it was a full week before delivery.

They did refund the current delivery but only after multiple times showing photos that delivery was inedible from being hot, sending delivery email from 12:02am the next day, and pointing out that there should be enough cold packs to keep it cold through the night if it wasn’t going to be delivered until almost 8pm on day of delivery.
Samanatha W-,
User friendly, great company and customer service
I have been a customer for over 6 months. The app works great, user friendly, works every time apart from perhaps when you need to update the app (my experience once). I order food on the app, it tells me when it’s ready, at Katy branch that is especially efficient, and I collect. Great food too, without all the additives and sugar most others come with. Love it! just what I’ve been looking for since I moved to Houston.

They also send emails: receipts / updates. Highly recommend the app and company. Live the rewards too, spend a certain amount, get money off next order. I have not done the meal plans, (where you get discounts up front I believe), but my close friend loves it.
Juli Beth,
Snappy App!
The Snap Kitchen app is one of the friendliest and most intuitive apps that I have ever used! As someone who has certain dietary restrictions, being able to view a list of ingredients and nutritional info for each dish is an awesome feature that allows me to find just what I need.

I also love having the ability to place my order in the app so I can just swing by and pick up my order later (or, even better, have it delivered. The food is always fabulous and I have now found my favorite food source!

Eating healthy made easy
Look, we all know that eating healthy can be difficult. Especially when it comes to meal prep. So many things about just meal prepping, deter people from staying on their diet plans. Snap Kitchen LITERALLY does it 100% for you. From dinners/lunch to snacks to drinks to coffee. It’s also affordable and equals out to what you would spend if you’d prep. Think about it, someone makes all your Keto food for you and all you have to do is pop it in the oven!! We need this in every major city!!
mrcorycannon,
Can't you see that it's just rainin', ain't no need to go outside
I continue to be impressed with the ever evolving ux design, visuals, and order ahead/delivery functionality of this app. The app knows which items are currently in stock at each location, so when I am inevitably craving some of those snap kitchen banana pancakes on-the-go, I can find out where they are in a “snap”. And when I am relaxing at home, I can get them delivered straight to my door, cue Jack Johnson, then enjoy a fresh stack.
Jmanscotch,
Two weeks in and haven’t got a meal delivered
Signed up due to issues with other offerings and had hopes for Snap due to positive reviews.

So far, the first week of food was cancelled by Snap. It was supposed to be delivered on a Wednesday and Wednesday night they emailed us to let us know it wouldn’t be coming due to a “unforeseen technical issue” that they seemingly didn’t notice until after the delivery time had come and gone. Great, last minute dinner plans.

This week, it’s Wednesday and we’re waiting for our already overdue delivery, to which we check and find they’ve now changed to Friday, without consulting us. We want fresh food early in the week, we chose Wednesday as our day as it was the earliest they offered, but now, now we are getting our $70 of food a week late and now 2 days delayed.

Completely unreliable and a hassle, which is not what we want to pay a premium price for. Mistakes and hiccups happen, but we’re 100% with them out the gate and thus not impressed and cannot recommend.
aebrakefield,
Love Snap but is buggy
When I add something to my cart that is sold out at my location, the cart just keeps putting up a notice that “this item has been moved to preorder” over and over and over again. It won’t let me go to checkout for the things that are available. I can’t navigate anywhere / have to totally shut down app.

Similar bugs occur if I leave things in my cart overnight that apparently are sold out the next day.
JoeTheEskimo,
Great app, meal selection process could be improved
Beautifully designed app and overall very easy to navigate. After a while, though, scrolling through the same enormous list of meals can bog me down. I would appreciate the opportunity to be able to sort meals by a greater number of factors than simply calories and price, e.g. sort by grams of protein, grams of fat or grams of carbs. Maybe also sort by type, e.g. chicken dishes, beef dishes, Asian-inspired, I’m not sure exactly but just something to help split up that long list a little bit.
