Great game; great company.
For a free game this is a great and addicting game to play. I own a lot of Karisoft games, including the original game Dev Story. I loved that game as a child and this game takes it a step further with feeling like a true game development studio. However, this game is not without faults. For one, the game feels too grindy, and almost is locked behind a small paywall. For example, coins are a big part of this game but can only be randomly found or bought. I’ve been playing the game for over a week now and I would probably be close to finishing the original Game Dev Story. So it’s a plus for longevity but it’s a delicate balance to a game that it seems to fall short on. I have also notice it does crash once or twice a day when I’m playing it. I’m on the iPhone 11 so the software is fine and my phone is not the issue that is causing it. Overall a good and fun game that is addicting and worth the download. Keep up the great work!

Solid Kairosoft
I own almost every Kairosoft Mac release, including some in Japanese that haven’t been translated (I thought maybe I could guess my way thru the games LOL.) LOVE Kairosoft’s style of management games — and this one is true to form. I don’t quite understand the Power Ups - and kind of wish there was a “combo” building feature like in Kairo Park, Dream House, and Pocket Academy (still my absolute FAVORITE!) but I’m thoroughly enjoying this game. Been playing it every day since the summer started early July. Love it! Please finish translating the rest!! Can’t wait to try Basketball!!!

Addicting.
After playing this game for 5 days straight, that this game is phenomenal! This game isn’t really pay to play, and the ads are at the title screen an the bottom of the screen so they aren’t distracting you from the game. Also the game always rewards you for doing literally anything with gifts or cash. This game makes you feel like actually owning a game company, and shows character progression in skills developing a game. I normally don’t make reviews but this simple game is amazing, and addicting in a good way. 5 stars

Frustrating
UPDATE: After spending several days with this game it’s getting frustrating to the point of quitting. The reliance on gold coins is really showing. You can’t get anything without them. You can’t even purchase them right now; that functionality is broken. You’re forced to rely on scummy ad practices to “earn” them and even if you complete the earning steps you probably won’t get your coins. Ready to quit.
Would be nice if there was a way to make a one time purchase to remove ads and maybe give you daily coins. As it stands now the gold coins are almost impossible to get. The offers never work and they TRICKLE in otherwise. The energy system isn’t great but so far it hasn’t been a major issue. You can develop games without using energy.

Day 5 - Still enjoying it a lot
So far I enjoy the game. I’ve enjoyed a few of Kairosoft’s games, and thought I’d give this one a try. Unlike their other free games, this one I actually have played more than 3 days and still find myself picking up my phone to play. It’s not a quick game like most of their games are; I haven’t progressed much at all in the 5 days I’ve played.
Wish they would make a free version and a paid version. I’d gladly spend $5 on one that ditches premium currency and has more of the original feel of their paid games.

Fun Game
This game follows a very similar gameplay of Game Dev. For fans of Game Dev. Story or for anyone who wants to test out the game play before deciding to purchase and try Game Dev., definitely try Social Dev.
Also, for a free game, ads are not intrusive and only appear at the very bottom of the page (super small and can't really be noticed). Additionally, there are some ads at the beginning whenever the game is launched - the ad lasts 5 seconds. Very short compared to games where I feel like I have to watch a long and every level or every five minutes.

Another Freemium Game
I have played every single Kairosoft game they have ever released for iOS and all the paid games are fantastic. However, these freemium games with their timers and attempts to have you use real life currency to pay for things in the game are always horrible. I understand that is the way the market is trending and you are trying to keep up but your paid apps are the best of all time. I think most fans would rather pay $5.99 for a complete game with no ads or timers and no in-game currency than download a free game with them.
They also have a huge library of games yet to be translated that would be much better than this game.
The game concept isn’t even good...it’s like they’re trolling us by making a game about releasing games on phones with the option of “paid release” and “free to play with micro transactions”.
Do yourself a favor and don’t bother downloading this game. Maybe that will send a message to them to go back to the fried and true methods of their past and leave the micro transactions behind. At least we can dream...

Great game
This game reminds me of a more detailed game dev story which was also a favorite of mine. I wish it showed the characters being fired up when they get inspired during game production. There is a lot of mechanics and upgrades that I like such as upgrading your ceo from a baby to an adult and you can make him exactly like yourself. A feature I would add is having the hearts regenerate everyday rather than making him food. Overall the retention on this game is pretty high ;) keep up the good work!

Another fine business RPG
This is my 2nd Kairosoft game. Just like last time I am kinda limping along trying to figure out what works best and then I will probably play it through a second and third time with my newfound knowledge (there are plenty of guides online, but I enjoy playing this way.) I don’t love the ads and wish I could just flow them a few bucks and have them disappear. But that’s my only criticism.

What Happened?
What happened to you guys? I used to struggle to find space on my phone because I loved your games so much and now you’ve crashed and burned. Have you run out of ideas? Are you too lazy to spend time on another game that’s worth $4.99? Or do you think that people like your free crap more than the good games you used to release. Just look at the reviews you get! Everyone thinks the same thing!!!!! I really loved (most) everything that happened before that strango music game. Then you kind of fell apart. Well, I guess all good things have to come to an end at some point... right?
